My new Ipod Touch has frozen in Safari :{

i was at work using their WiFi, listening to a lecture from the website Unwelcome Guests, when i lost the signal.....i went home and clicked onto the Safari Icon, and the same website's page was on my screen, but is completely frozen

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
Have you tried each of these?

  • My Ipod touch has frozen while using an app.

My new Ipod touch has frozen while I was using an app. I can't even turn it off. It has pink and blus stripes on the screen. I don't want to lose all my stuff and haven't yet got a back up on the computer. What should I do?

Have you tried a hard reset yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
    See here for more assistance.

  • My ipod touch has frozen with a white screen. None of the buttons will work to turn it off or take any action. Holding down buttons for 10 seconds plus does not work.Help

My ipod touch has frozen with a white screen. The on/ff and sleep buttons will not work whether pressed for a moment or held for more than 10 seconds as per help pages. When connected to computer it is not recognised and no indication in "devices".It has been working perfectly from Christmas until now. Was watching a TV prog via BBC iplayer when the image and sound froze for about 5 seconds then just white screen. Help

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • My new ipod touch has no icons just background screen. Is this normal?

My new ipod touch has no icons, just background screen. Help?

The screen of a new iPod will have a iTunes and a USB cord icons. To use the iPod you first have to connect the iPod to a computer with an internet connect and which has the latest version of iTunes installed. ITunes will give you instructions after you connect the iPod to the computer.

  • HT1414 ipod touch has frozen and wont turn off

my ipod touch has frozen and wont turn off, ive left it so it locks but it wont go that far...what should i do? thanks

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My old ipod touch has frozen. The touch screen won't respondand itunes is not recognising or syncing it. The sleep button doesn't work so I can't hold it down with the home button. Is ther any other way I can get it working again?

Try as best you can with the bad button.:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use this program:
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • NEW iPod Touch has an error message

I got a new iPod touch just over two weeks ago. I'd had one previously so I just connected the new one as per the instruction booklet. Within half an hour iTunes popped up to tell me to update. So I did. BIG MISTAKE. The iPod crashed, I tried to restore but got the message "cannot restore, error 21". After going through the forums and the less than helpful Apple support pages I eventually took it back to the store and they replaced it.
So I connected the new one but didn't do the update and everything has been fine.
SO two weeks later I'm still getting the message to update. I figure that Apple would have fixed any problems in that time so I go ahead. I'm now sitting with an iPod stuck in recovery with error 14.
It'll cost me a fortune to phone through to support and I live over 100 miles from the nearest Apple store.
Any advice that ANYONE can give would be much appreciated!!

I did try the various steps people have suggested in other threads but still the problem exists.
I phoned Apple today and they have offered to change the iPod again and actually advised me not to update the new one...
They are suggesting it may be a USB problem - but having used a PC and a laptop, and three different cables I doubt that.
One other thing they suggested is that the wireless adapter I use for my web connection may be causing the problem - again I've tried it on a patop with an integrated wireless adapter but you never know I suppose.

Just bought a new iPod touch and I got a white scree and cannot turn it off. I have tried reset via the power and home button but still have the white screen.
Is there a quick fix or should I just return it under warranty?

  • Help, my ipod touch has frozen when downloading ios 5.1?

Can anybody help please? I was downloading the newest version onto my ipod touch and the ipod has frozen. I have tried turning off and resetting to factory settings but nothing works.

I went through two of the apple support webpages and the ipod is now connected, so the password was not the problem. I recently installed a new ActionTec modem and had to adjust a couple settings.
    The topics I read were:
"iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections" and
"iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points"
    See URLs:

I thought these articles were well written, helpful, and were written from the perspective of customer usability (and better than what I typically find on other company websites).

  • My iPod Touch has frozen.

I was having trouble with downloading an app so I turned my iPod of and then tried to turn it back on again but now its frozen on the Apple symbol.
Just now it flashed [white screen] but its back on the apple symbol again.
I tried putting it on charge [socket charger]  and just pressing the buttons but nothing happens.

    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
If you're not able to restore the device, you should use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using that last article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
    Good luck
