My new iPod touch is getting really warm while I use it. Is it normal? I mean, I have silicone cover, maybe it's the reason for iPod being so HOT?... How do you think, is it too important to have a cover on the iPod? How about screen protector? :S

WHen batteries drain they generate heat, as does your screen and processor.
Warm is normal. if it ever gets too hot to handle - literally - then stop using it and book an appiontment at your local apple store. But really, generating heat is no different from your computer getting warm as it's used.

computer CPUs use very small wires that heat up when electricity is passed through them. Its actually one of the major limiting factors in miniaturization, making the wires too small and they melt.

The Temperature warning usually appears when the iPad has been set in a place where it gets so hot to the touch that you'd almost burn your hands if you picked it up. The temperature caused by the processor or charging the battery should never reach that level. If you feel your pad is too warm when you are using it Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

4MONTHS OLD IPOD TOUCH 4G GETS REALLY HOT

Hi when i play games or some apps my ipod to 4 months old, what should i do? and also when i try to update the hardware via itunes , itunes always gets an error , i try to reinstall and still the same thing .

With gaming the iPod can get quite warm. Since it is not possible to judge how warm it too hot over the internet, if you are concerned make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I'm getting really frustrated and could use some help

Hello there!
I'm not sure what happened because when I plugged in my ipod today (I have an 8g ipod touch) everything was reset to the basics in itunes. My entire library was delted. Honestly I'm not really that upset by that as I was going to change out all of my music anyways.
My problems are as follows:
I can no longer add more than 1 folder at a time.
          -How can I change it to where I can add multiple folders again?
When I do add a folder it now automatically takes me out of the adding music on your ipod spot (sorry I don't know how else to describe that page) but it takes me out of there and automatically creates a playlist and starts to play the folder I just added.
          -How do I stop it from creating playlists automatically? I absolutely hate playlists. I've never used them and I don't forsee myself useing them anytime           soon.
          -How do I stop it from automatically playing the songs/folders I add?
          -How do I stop it from taking me out of the ipod page and into the playlists page?
My ipod NEVER used to do any of this before so I'm really not sure why all of that changed and why I can't change it back.
My audiobooks tab is gone.
          -How do I bring this back so I can audiobooks again?
I've spent the last couple of hours sifting through manuals, let me tell you 138 pages is a lot to go through, forums and google and a lot of technical jargon and acronyms. All in all, I'm having a heck of a time finding exactly what I need to help me out and I admit I am starting to get really frustrated.
The other day it was so easy, add a couple of folders to the library, select them hit apply and VOILA all was golden. Today, not so much.

I'm still having troubles getting the audio books to appear.
Heres what im selecting.
and then the books tab is still not appearing.
and then as far as adding folders here is what I am doing.
this was how i had it before. it gives me mroe control to choose what i want to add.
that is where i go to add the folder, like i did before.
selecting the folder like normal.
then this box immediatly pops up. not allowing me the option to select and apply any music i may have added.
the music starts playing and it takes me to the playlist page.
but when i click on the ipod icon and go back into this area. the folder is there.
all the steps ive just shown you is how i have ALWAYS done this ever since i got my ipod. Ive never had any of these weird problems utnil today.

Are there any cases or screen protectors available yet? I'm more interested in a screen protector at this point I hate finger prints. I saw Zagg screen protectors (front only) for the iPhone 5 at best buy, they look like they may fit the touch 5. Isn't the front the exact same size as the phone? I would love a clear case because what's the point of having a blue iPod if you can't see the back. lol. Anyone know of anything out there?

We have the correct CVV2, Expiration Date and Billing address, but you keeps declining us. Please fix this problem for me. The issuing bank for this card is Eximbank, one of the largest banks in Vietnam. According to the bank, the transaction is processed in the US. This is a legitimate Visa card.
Please let me know as soon as possible. Apple does a disservice to its brand name by declining legitimate Visa account holders from using the cards in Vietnam.

IPod getting really warm, HELP!

i've noticed that the past couple of days when i take my iPod off of it's charger, or an adapter for the car, it's really hot. mostly towards the bottom half & on the face of the iPod, not really on the back. it also takes a while to cool off. then just today, it wouldn't turn on, & said the battery was dead, when i know for a fact, it was fully charged. what do i do? by the way, it's a 30GB video iPod.

My iphone 3G is draining off battery very fast.Wi Fi and other appliations are swithed off.Phone getting really warm just like that.Battery drains off in half day or less even in stand by mode.

There is no reason that a brand new phone should be having problems. I would say return it for a new one because it's less then a week old or return it. It's unacceptable. I have been having software issues with my iPhone 3GS too. I feel that Apple did a half done job on the software and really failed to bring new features to their third gen. iPhone.

My iMac is getting really slow. It used to boot in about 30 seconds, now it's over 3 minutes. I am thinking I may backup photo's Videos and such and format the hard drives and re-install OSX. Any thoughts on this?

This computer used to boot up in about 30 seconds, now it's minutes, programs are starting to freeze, or take a long time to boot. I suspect it's bits and fragments from programs that I have used and deleted over the years, but are still floating around inside my iMac. I really don't want to re-format and re-install OSX but the lack of performance is finally starting to irritate me. (Haveing switched from windows in 2009, I can tell you, I used to reformat and re-install windows about every 3 months because I liked that fresh fast boot up feel.) Any advice is welcome. Here's a printout from a program that lists everything using my system.

In addition to Mike's suggestions, you only have 4GB of RAM and Mavericks does use more RAM than other versions. You may also want to look at the apps that startup on login and the possiblity of upgrading RAM.

you see what is running on your computer (because CPU usage is what makes the procesor(s) get hot) by opening the application "Activity Monitor" in the folder "/Applications/Utilities", then select the "CPU" tab (at the bottom) and sort the information in the top section by "%CPU":
This will show you what application is using the most CPU time and is the most likely candidate for why your machine is warming up. You can also quit all applications, then reboot to see if that resolves the problem.
