My new ipod touch is not responding to touch very well? compared to my old one is there a setting for that?

Apple just switched out my old ipod for another one, and it seems to be less sensitive to touch, you have to try to do things several times before it responds.  anyone know of a setting for this?  if not, maybe I will see if they will switch out again.  had IOS 6 on the first one and now IOS 7 on this one, that shouldn't make any difference should it?

There is not such setting
If still problem after Calchick's suggestions
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • New IPOD Nano will not sync.  iTunes recognizes it, I think.  It knows its there and says I can transfer purchases from it but it will not let me sync it to my existing itunes.

I received a new IPOD nano for CHristmas.  Itunes shows it there on summary, it is showing with the eject symbol.
However, when I go to file/sync, it allows me to transfer purchases but not sync it.  It also does not show up in my playlist like my older NANO does.
I have reset, I have toggled security on and off.  I am current on the software on both my IPOD and ITunes.

I was having the same problem...plugged in my new device and although I was able to set it up and it was recognized in iTunes, hit the sync button and nothing...even when it said it was syncing, still nothing. I am not sure this will work for you but I did two things that were suggested in this forum in combination with one another.
First, I plugged my Nano into different USB port on my laptop from the one I was using. when I reconnected, my devie again was displayed in the top right corner. I clicked on it and the summary page appeared. The one thing I hadn't done is go to the "music" tab. When I arrived there I found that the "sync music" tab was unchecked for some reason. I checked the block and instantly the download started.
As I said, I don't know if you have tried this or if it will even work for you but after an hour of frustration...I felt a little silly that it was something so simple I had negelected and thought I would share.
    Good  luck!

  • How can I fix my ipod if it does not respond to touch?

My ipod touch is not responding to touch, I cannot slide to unlock or slide to power off. It syncs and I have tried to restore and recover but it did not help and nothing has worked.  PLEEEEEEAAAASSSEEE HEEEELLLP

Try holding the 'lock' and 'home' buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo, but from what you said I don't think that will help. If it doesn't, your only course of action is to take it to the Apple store and hope that it's under warranty.
If not, you can always go to Amazon and buy a new screen and digitizer and try to replace it yourself. Nothing to lose (:

my ipod touch is not responding when i plugged it  in even with a different cord and restarting my computer and i am using my moms itunes that she has had for a long time and so i cant uninstall itunes.

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • With ios 8.3 ipad mini apps sometimes do not respond when touched

a new problem occurred with ios 8.3 ipad mini applications sometimes do not respond when touched Fix it in ios 8.4

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • IPad 3G 64Gig not responding to touch

I have a serious  problem with my iPad  and would really like some resolve to the challenges I'm encountering.  My iPad (3G 64G) stopped working in December 2013 after I did an iOS update (not responding to touch gestures).  I did everything to try revive it, from hard shutdown to reset and nothing works.
On the 16th May 2014 it started working after i brought it to a certified Apple repairs store (MacPlus) in Jamaica for a diagnosis.  The results given is that there is a defective chip on the circuit board that is contributing to the problem, and while doing their test the device worked for an hour then stopped responding.  When I went to collect the device, it started working until the 27th May it stopped working at 6:58pm.  Later that night (10:50pm) it started responding to touch again, but by the morning of the 28th it is gone again till this moment.
My question now is, what is the root cause of this problem (base on the situation laid out) and how unique is it?  What kind of resolution can Apple now give me when this problem started manifested itself just after the warranty has expired?  Can you refer me to an Apple Store/Support to have this problem resolved and how much would it possibly cost to get this done?
    I await your earliest response.
    Thank you.

  • My i pad is not responding to touch

My ipad is not responding to touch.  It is very slow and most of the time does not work at all.  THis problem occured a few days after I updated to the newest version.  It is an ipad1

I have an iPad 1 as well that I updated when the iOS was first released a few weeks ago and I think that the new update really sparked my iPad into "new life" again. It's so hard to tell what will happen when you update - ideally the performance of the device should improve - and not fall off.
Have you tried closing any/all open/running apps in the recents tray? Close them all and restart - see what happens.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
