My new mac isn't starting up.

I've got a mac today and I opened it right from the package.
BUT
It didn't start up and even get charged with charger.
What is going on here with my NEW mac?????
HELP ME PLZ.

Take it to the Apple Store and ask them to fix it for you.

If I've understood you, you can't start into Mac OS X. Press X key after the startup sound, so your computer will start in OS X

My imac a few weeks old keeps telling me that my start up disc is full, what is the issue?

Not sure why this is occuring but I'd recommend calling AppleCare in the morning. You have 90 days of free phone support and I'm sure they can help you de-bug the problem. BTW you can purchase AppleCare if you want to extend the warranty to 3 years, this will include the phone coverage too. I'd highly recommend doing so. They're open M-Saturday during business hours.

Mac isn't starting

Hi all. I have a problem with my MacBook pro - it's not loading after I tried to restart it. The apple logo and the circle appear, fans are working hard, but system isn't loading.
I haven't done anything special except for typing in terminal "sudo -R 777 /" (stupid thing to do, now I know it).
Looks like it messed something up :(
Can anyone tell me what I have to do now?

My new mac won't start up. I uploaded my backup now it just keeps restarting over and over

u just bought a 2013 refurbished Mac Pro retina display. It asked me to connect my backup and install. After 45 min it restarted and came up error. Now it keeps restarting and a bunch of tiny writing appears in the top left then it restarts again and repeats.

I can't get my brand new mac mini to start up.

The screen goes black after showing me the applie logo. It does talk to me, but without the screen, that's not much use. Any suggestions? I tried restarting several times, incl. while holding the ALT key down. Same [lack of] result.

HT4413 I started the migration assistant but it stopped and the Mac Air locked up. I would like to undo what the migration assistant has done so far. Is that possible...and how do I get the new Mac Air unlocked?

Any Way to "Start Over" With New Mac Pro?

I just got a new Mac Pro yesterday and did the Migration Assistant to transfer my files from my old G4. However, when it first came up and asked in Setup if I wanted to transfer, I wasn't quite ready (didn't have the old computer connected yet) so I chose to do it later. When I did get connected and did the transfer (and waited SO "patiently" overnight for it to finish!) - I discovered it had not done what I wanted! I wanted it to incorporate my old computer's info into my main Account on the new computer, but it created a 2nd account instead!
At this point, I don't know whether to keep it like this or try to start over. But my question is - is there some way to "reset" the new Mac Pro to start all over and let me do the transfer within the Setup so it will keep everything in just one account? (Short of reinstalling the whole OS from scratch, that is.)

Install your applications fresh, don't migrate.
If you have a FW drive, that is one way, sneaker net works fine. Assume you don't have an SATA drive from the G4 (if you did it would need to be reformatted).
I would never update or alter the system without first making a backup, but reinstall from DVD should be fast. It can be even faster if you restore the DVD to a small 12GB partition and boot off that, install takes under 10 minutes!
I've seen on MacFixit a tutorial on how the method you used does create a 2nd account, which is why I would have the drive directly connected.
You can also use a program to synch your home folder. I did everything manually, by hand, went through home preferences really carefully and pruned out any old stuff.

How to transfer just iLife libraries to new Mac

I just bought a new MBPr to replace my 5+ year old iMac.
The old iMac has been filled up with a bunch of stuff I arguably don't need any more (apps I don't use etc). And as I have a new Mac a frersh start would seem sensible. I can reinstall MAS apps easily enough, and apart from Office (which I have the orginal disc for) other apps are easy enough to redownload.
I initally tried doing a straight MA based shift of my entire iMac, but have run into issues with MA not playing ball (issues I've seen other unanswered post on).
When I last bought a new Mac I thought I'd simply be able to drag and drop the iTunes/Photo libraries across from one Mac to another. I remember getting into all sorts of metadata issues so want to avoid that this time around.
Really, all I'm interested in pulling across are my iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie libraries an their associated metadata. Docs should be drag and dropable (one would assume?).
If MA isn't working for me are there any ways in which I can have iPhoto et al working on my new MBPr without any hickups?

As I type iTunes seems to be going OK, but iPhoto has been doing something a tad worrying.
I tried dragging from one Finder window to another (across a Mac to Mac Ethernet connection) and got a message saying that not all items could be copied as I don't have permission (might have been authority or such like) to copy them!
I then noticed that the iPhoto library icon is different on my older Mac than my new MBPr. A-ha... now I remember my old iMac can't upgrade to the newest version of iPhoto without a costly upgrade. My iMac is running iPhoto 09 v 8.1.2 (424) and the library iconis a picture of a photo frame, whereas on my brand spanking new MBPr the iPhoto Library is a normal looking Folder.
Could this be the reason for the quirky warning message? If so is there a workaround that doesn't involve me paying over £20 to upgrade iPhoto that I'm not going to use once I have switched over to my new Mac?

Transferred old mac to new mac and now some applications not opening

Just bought a new mac pro and transferred from my old mac pro via time machine back-up/migration assistant when setting new computer.
Both old and new running snow leopard and had issues with opening imovie, etc. but has since been resolved. I am trying to open my photoshop and won't open...same with illustrator. Do not have back-up disks of both programs to reinstall, so cannot go that route.
Help, please.
Phone help through apple suggest me to wipe new mac clean and start all over....have done that already and not working.

Photoshop and Illustrator have to be activated through Adobe on the new machine, and of course they are only licensed to be activated and used on one machine at a time. If you have legitimate licenses for them, call Adobe for advice on de-activating them on the old machine and activating them on the new one. If you don't have legitimate licenses for them, as your lack of installer discs suggests may be the case, then tough luck.

There is no disk to download OS x Yosemite on my new mac

today I got a new Mac and I started to transfer all my stuff on to my new Mac from my old one but then it was going to take 20+ hours so I cancelled it. Then I was like I actually don't want all this stupid stuff on it so I'll just start new. I deleted all the files like it told me to do and now It won't let me back to make a new profile and this is really frustrating my birthday is tomorrow and I can't enjoy it because this please help

New Mac book pro won't move off 'thank you screen'

Hi All,
Transfered files from old mac to new mac during first start-up, this went ok, but after clicking 'start using your mac' the wheel has been spinning for a number of hours without moving on!
It won't do anything and is stuck on this screen!
