My PC did the same thing. the following is what I did to stop the problem.
Check your lan settings
1. Click On Start
2. Click On Control Panel
3. Click On Network and Internet Connections
4. Click On Your Local Area Connection
5. Click On Properties
6. Click On Configure
7. Click On The Advance Tab At Top Of Window
8. Click On Wake Up Capabilities
9 Click On The Value Drop Down Arrow And Change The Value To None By Highlighting It
My value was set for "Magic Packet & Pattern Match" and when I reset it to "None" the computer stopped starting on it's own.
Also I'm Using the Mavell Lan Controller and a router
Thank you!
That did the trick!
That was deeply hidden!
Thank you for the detailed help!
Kind regards

New Phone keeps Restarting...?
I got a new iPhone 3GS yesterday and it keeps restarting when I am using it. For example, I am typing a text message then the screen goes black then the apple comes on and it starts back up (also happens when doing other things). This is happening quite frequently. Am I hitting something to make it do this or have a setting wrong? I tried turning the phone off and on, but that didn't help...
Thanks for any help! Other than that I love the phone!Standard troubleshooting steps in order are power your iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset - which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so (an iPhone reset does not affect any data or settings), restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, and restoring with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after any of these steps in order, the iPhone includes a one year warranty. You can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. -

Ipod touch 4th gen needed a new screen and sleep/wake switch. So, I replace them. I was able to get to settings and do "erase all content and settings". I am not able to totally shut this device off as it keeps restarting after a few seconds. I have used itunes to restore and also recover. Device will actually shut off and stay shut off if I leave it connected to the computer. The moment I unplug (3 seconds) the apple logo appears, it boots, unlock screen appears, I can unlock and operate normally, unplugged or not. Just cant get it to completely shut down unplugged. Any thoughts?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you installed a bad component or damaged something during the repair/replacement.
Apple will not help since you worked on the iPod yourself. -

Brand new iPod Touch keeps restarting Help!
PLEASE HELP ME! My iPod keeps restarting, or turning off, I'm not sure which, but when it does that then it shows the Apple Logo, it will go to the main screen for maybe 1 second, but then it does this cycle over again. It stared lagging at first. It has been doing this for a while now about (almost an hour). It is also unresponsive, I and tried holding down the home and power buttons, but it didn't work. I plugged it in to iTunes and it said it couldn't connect to it and gave me the code 0xE8000024. I have no idea what to do. Oh and I havn't dropped it or anything, I have taken very good care of it. I JUST got it today. I am restoring it right now but as its plugged in it keeps rstarting and showing the Apple logo. Please help!

Macbook Pro Keeps Restarting Itself and then totally crashed
Dear all.
I am using Macbook Pro 13-inch (i7 2.9 Ghz, 8 GB DDR3, 750 GB) with OS X Maverick (10.9.4).
For the last few months, my Macbook Pro kept restarting itself and I usually ignored this issue until yesterday, my MBP fail to boot up, only display the grey apple logo and rolling icon below for almost 30 mins.
I tried the safe mode and reset NVRAM method and it still fail to boot up and sometimes a black text appears (aka kernel panic).
Then i took my macbook pro to the nearest Apple service provider and the technician said that it was probably due to the 750 GB Hard Disk since the HD itself is a faulty product, therefore we can't find any 750 GB HD nowadays. So he recommended me to replace my current HD with a new HD. I took his advice and I replaced it with 1 TB Toshiba HD. And then the technician reformat my MBP and installed the OS X Maverick. My Macbook pro able to boot up now.
However the next day I still find my MBP keeps restarting itself (until now) and take note that I didn't install any new softwares, I only updated the available updates in Apps Store for the OS, iBooks, and iTunes.
Can anyone recommend me what to do? Is this a Hardware problem or software problem?
I'm thinking to switch back to OS Lion to see whether this is mainly due to OS Maverick.
Thank you.Unfortunately yes. Since the computer is unable to boot up, that part of the software starts BEFORE the OS would. Last time I had this problem, it turned out to be a faulty GPU (soldered to the logic board) and i needed to replace the logic board. If you wanted to, you could indeed back up your personal data (you should ANYWAY, no matter what you do) and you could try to do a fresh install, but I'm fairly confident you are experiencing either faulty ram, or a faulty logic board.

I hooked my iPod touch (4th generation) up today and it said that there was new software to be downloaded so I downloaded it. Everything seemed fine but when it was complete it restarted and restarted and is continuing to keep restarting. Has been for a good hour. I can't turn it off, restore or anything. What can I do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
My 27' 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM iMac keeps restarting.
My I wonder if anyone on here could help me.
My 27' 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM iMac keeps restarting all the time. It's been happening for months now but has got worse and worse. It started when I was using programmes like adobe Pr & Ae but now it happens when I have only have safari or other small apps open.
What happens is the screen freezes, I can hear a clicking should and then the machine just restarts all of a sudden.
I get the message: 'Your computer was restarted because of a problem. Click report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple' which I have done ever time for about 50+ times now in total. The 'problem details and system configuration' states the below:

I use my iMac daily for work and it happens from 4-10 times a day depending on what applications i'm using. More if I'm trying to render a video. It is really furstrating and keeps me from doing any work at all, I can't keep working like this but I have no choise. I really can't be without my computer for very long as I use it to do everything and I do not have another. Also I have all my files on the hard drive. I have bought a Seagate external HD to back up my files onto so I can make a genus bar appointment but everytime I run time machine or try to copy any of my files over to the external HD the machine restarts and disrupts the file transfer. So I can't even back up my files which are really important to me. I even had to retype this whole message becuase my imac restarted while I was fulling in this question.
What is worse is that I bought the extra warrenty (Apple Care) which is due to expire sometime in March 2014 I'm unsure of the date. Might have expired already I don't know. So I need to get this fixed ASAP.
Extra information on the machine:
iMac
27-inch, Mid 2011
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)
Can anyone see from the information I have given about what could be wrong with my machine?
Any help or assistance would be much appriciated.
Thanks,
JamesHi. I am currently having the same issue on my 2011 27" 3.1 GHz i5 with 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
For the last couple of months I have been experiencing random restarts, power offs and so on. I have already had this escalated and had my machine taken into Apple to run a Hardware test. They redid the newest OSX version in store and ran the AHT for an hour and got no results. The Genius Bar were asked by Apple Canada to run an all night test. According to Apple they ran the test for 4 hours and got nothing. I was then told to take the machine home and run it with just the memory that was original in the machine. I stressed tested the video card with a benchmark tool called Heaven for 2 hours. 90C was the temp and no failure. I did a Terminal "Yes" loop for a couple of hours and no failure on the CPU. I ran the Apple Hardware Test for 11 minutes and this is the result.
I also have a video of what happened after I restarted the test after about a 5 minute cooldown period. 20 minutes into the test the Imac stalled and made 3 long beeps over and over again like an alarm with a long pause between. I took the memory out of the DIMM 0 & 1 slots and replaced them in the 2&3 slots rand the test and got nothing after 2 hours. I put the memory back in the original spot and ran it again and got no results. Apple contacted the "Genius" techs and they informed them that I had fixed the problem and everything should be good now. I was also told to go ahead and transfer back over my Time Machine Backup. Since this all happened I have had the Imac restart 2 times in the last almost 2 weeks and today got this error message

I would also like to add that The Second High Level tech I spoke to told me to use a program to take an image of what my computer was doing when the fresh install of Mavericks was installed and then again after the Time Machine restore. I sent both and have had no response back. The "Engineers of Apple" would be taking a look at those files. This is what I was told anyway's.
So I would like any advise because Apple hasn't been too helpful. I haven't heard anything back at all. Its been a little while. This seems that it could be an issue. I sat in the store speaking to a gentleman with a brand new iMac 27 inch that was having the same exact issues. I was told his was newer so they were not the same. The owner of the new iMac just rolled his eyes and laughed. James McConville seems to be having the same issue and I have read quite a few others before I saw this post from yesterday.

Cant get my MacBook Pro to let me log in because beta-Yosemite keeps restarting and I can't install new Yosemite- Tried safe mode but all I get is grey screen?
Have you tried booting in Yosemite's Recovery partition by holding down the command and R keys whilst booting?
You should be able to re-install OS X if you can get that far.

My iPhone 4 keeps restarting it's self & Won't Charge
"APPLE HARDWARE/SOFTWARE PRODUCT PROBLEMS WITH MINE & WORLDWIDE"
1.
24-06-2011
As from Friday 24th June 2011 when I purchased my iPhone 4 it Won't Charge, stays in the red & go above 5% even after 2-3+ days no difference charging plus I tried x4 different Apple charges but it made no difference at all to the problems with the iPhone 4.
2.
24-06-2011
iPhone 4 keeps restarting it's self every 30 seconds
3.
24-06-2011
I do a system restore many times via iTunes
4.
I do a hard reset by holding the power & home button for 45sec x5 times
5.
I do a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum
6.
Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest 4.3.3 OS via iTunes
7.
I leave iPhone 4 to completely dis charge where it won't start at all & then recharge it where charge holds for a couple of hours but then only to turn itself off when the power meter is reading 64% but won't restart after pressing power button.
8.
So I pug the iPhone 4 back on its charger for a couple of hours but it still reads only 1% battery power so I do another by holding the power & home button for 25 seconds as I'm told via online forum up to which the battery meter reads 96% as to will not charge no higher than 93-96% but again the seconds later the iPhone 4 again starts keeping restarting it's self every 30 seconds nonstop all over again.
9.
Nothing has help with this piece of Apple ****.
10.
Reading more online forum where this is a very common problem with it seem that all iPhone models, iPad’s, iPod 4 it also had similar problems as did mine.
11.
Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest x4.more times of the iPhone OS via iTunes which has made NO DIFFERENCE to the continued problems with this APPLE PIECE OF CRAP.

I plug it in to my computer where it Shows it’s charging a CHARGING icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen & then a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds.
13.
01-09-2011
Now after a doing a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum. But this time each time it restarts 90% charge, 85% charge, 80% charge, 76% charge & that continues like that again, again & again, what a piece of CRAP…

01-09-2011
Again I plug it in to my computer where it Shows it’s charging a CHARGING icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen & then a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds

I Plug it in & once more I do a system restore via Apple iTunes to see once more if it will make any difference, like that will do anything ‘YEA RIGHT”.. And the answer is “NO WHAT A SURPRISE” Now showing 74% charge, continuing to restart every 30seconds
16.
01-09-2011
72% charge, continuing to restart every 30seconds & then showing a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds.
17.

Then this happens during Sync after a do a system restore via Apple iTunes
18.
Now showing 74% charge & still continuing to restart every 30seconds.
19.
Won’t charge at all while turned on
20.
01-05-2012
Still won’t charge when plugged in plus there is NO CHARGE SYMBOL on the screen to show its charging & so it doesn’t charge...

Now upgraded to iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 & it now continues to REBOOT/RESTART every three to five second regardless of whether it’s plugged in or unplugged NOW & the ONLY way I can get some sort of charge into it is to turn off the iPhone 4 completely but only after it already plugged in to the power & after it’s already restarted it’s self again buy holding the POWER BUTTON down plus flicking the Phone shutdown touch screen button across But still not fixing it’s problem regardless of how many times I’ve upgraded the iPhones 4 iOS MAKING THE iPhone or any iPhone so far totally the most useless mobile phone I’ve ever had/owned & I’ve had a lot of Mobiles over the years that when I get them I test every feature they have to the max in order to make sure there are no problems with it but this time I’ve discovered that Apple iPhones are a piece of TOTAL CRAP and contacting Apple is imposable to do & Vodafone is almost just as bad & certainly not buy email HA?Hi, did you ever solve this problem?
My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!! -
Iphone keeps restarting after 1 minute
went to bed last night phone was fine woke up this morning and it keeps restarting or freezing after 30 seconds to a minute. i tried re-installing my firmware but no help. does anyone have any ideas?
Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off/on, reset, restore with iTunes from the iPhone's backup, restore with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the iPhone's backup.
If no change after these steps, time to give AppleCare a call at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
