My new quickbooks requires 10.4.7 but I have 10.3.9
My new quickbooks requires 10.4.7 but I have 10.3.9.
I tried to download 10.4.7 but it would not let me.
My guess Is I have to dowload every upgrade in between.
Does anyone know if that is correct? If so where do I start and how many upgrades do I need to get to 10.4.7? THanks for your help
Most of Mac users went from 10.3.9 to Tiger (10.4). But we had to buy the DVD, wait for delivery and then install it (choosing from lots of options).
It can only be installed using a DVD (shipped by Apple using FedEx) and can't be downloaded.
Minor "updates" can be downloaded via the Internet using the Software Update feature.
You can place and order for Tiger online. Many vendors sell it but I would only trust the Apple Store (my vendor of choice).

"deafult search engine on a new tab" - this thread was closed but I have a related question. [the word “default” is spelled as it on the thread] Once you put the new url in, what then? Close it? When tried, it did not work. The closest answer is noted here. Instructing to go to about:fig. Specifically, I installed the accuweather add=on and it took over my tab home page - the one that comes up when you click for a new tab. I didn't like it so I clicked the button to remove it and the page went blank. I searched to see out to restore the tab page, tired the reply at this page :

I have the new version of pages but can't access any of my old pages Documents as I am prompted to get the new version which I already have.
Check if the older version of Pages is open. If it is, close it, and then try again to open the document. It happened to me a few times and this method worked.

New Printer Require USB 2.0 and I have USB 1.1-Help?
I am looking at replacing my old printer, however the new ones I have looked at say Standard Interface is: USB 2.0 Hi-Speed. Problem is I have an iMac and and iBook that have USB 1.1. Thank you so much for writing back. Yes, only printing off of this printer. I can handle slower times when it prints. I found a Canon Pixma iP4600 for a good price and good reviews, but was terrified I would get it here and it wouldn't work with my "old & reliable" macs. Question, do I need to get a special USB cable or does it matter? And do I need to get a special USB hub too?

TS4148 trying to activate new iphone 5c says invalid sim but i have a signal on the top bar
I got a new iphone 5c and started a new gophone service with the nano sim, but I get a sim not valid , states that it's from a carrier not supported, but there is a signal on the top bar, I got 5 bars. I can not get any further into the activation process. Please help!
Insert a SIM from the carrier the device is actually locked to.

Transfered Photoshop to new computer; it wants a subscription but I have a license. Help?
I mistakenly followed the prompts to subscribe (I had confused the product code with the license code and obviously it wouldn't accept it) and now when I open the software it doesn't give me the option to input my license code—it just tells me my subscription ran out. I deleted and reloaded the program but the subscription prompt still comes up. Any advice?

There is no way around the activation lock. You apparently decided to use the phone with someone else's ID set up for an iCloud (and find my iPhone) account before updating. Since Find My iPhone was active, updating to iOS 7 has automatically turned on the activation lock. If you do not have the Apple ID and password that were previously used, then the phone is now useless. You can't activate it without that informaion.
Talk to whoever you bought the phone from if you can. If you can't, buy a new phone. -
I changed laptops and went from Vista to Windows 8. It requires icloud. I did icloud setup but it will not allow me access and wants to give me a new password. That is OK but it will not send me the promised password even though itunes recognizes my password

Oddly enough, the problem mysteriously went away. I have followed the same routine and changed no settings. Suddenly all of the downloaded spreadsheets were no longer read-only. So I consider the matter resolved. -
I need help on how to download the ios 4.3. to my iphone 3gs. What version of iOS are you running? I'm going to bet that you do NOT have a 3Gs. You have a 3G. The highest version of iOS that can run is 4.2.1.
If you did not save a copy of the older facebook at that could run on 4.2.1 on your computer that you can sync back, then you're out of luck. The newest version (and the only one available in the app store) will not run on 4.2.1.
You will have to resort to using the mobile web page in Safari or find a 3rd party app that will run on your phone. -
I upgraded to Mavericks. I just spent an hour in Pages. Now I can't open my documents, it says I need to upgrade to a newer version. It looks like the new 5.0 when I typed but it's saying I'm running 4.3. the App store says I've already upgraded. HelP
Actually, there seems to be a bit of a bug. Encountered this with a couple of files my wife made. The files were set to "open with" the new Keynote, but clicking the file brought up this error. Right-clicking and selecting "open with..." worked correctly. I can only assume the OS was attempting to open the file with Keynote '09 despite the file property setting.
Probably requires a Launch Services DB reset (although I haven't actually tried it on my wife's MBA yet...since she's still "working on stuff". So I can't confirm if it will solve the problem).

My iphone 5S is stuck on a screen displaying the itunes symbol and a charging cable. I tried connecting it to itunes and updating it to the new software, and backing it up but it keeps saying unknown error 4005, Also when I first tried backing up my phone on my computer it would begin the processes then half way through it would say IPHONE has been disconnected, now it won't recognize it or anything. what can i do? This is a brand new phone!!!

I was able to locate a support article for the error you mentioned. The following steps may help you get your device back to working order:
iOS: Restore errors 4005, 4013, and 4014 - Apple Support
You may see one of these messages if the device unexpectedly disconnects during the update or restore or iTunes couldn't tell the device to go to the restore state.

Try these steps to resolve the issue:
Install the latest version of iTunes.

We need feature to select range in StageText field in iOS like with setSelection TextField method:

Thanks.It could be. I know that Last.fm recently released an iOS app that allowed you to play all your iTunes Match music from their app and it would scrobble the plays to thier service.
My Audi reads my iTunes Match library and will stream any song thru the car system. I'm sure since Sonos can see what's on an iDevice locally and play that music, and Last.fm can see all iTunes match music that Sonos should be able to read the larger library and stream whats requested to play - only time will tell.
