My Nike + receiver is not recognized by my iPod

I have a 60Gb iPod with video, I have the 1.2.1 version already installed. I got a Nike + receiver, but when I connect to my Ipod i just got a error message telling me "this accesory is not supported". I reset the ipod but the error is still. I had the idea the receiver was wrong, but I connected to 2G Nano, and it was recognized at the first. Does somebody can help me about? In the support area ( Apple and Nike) I had found any solution.

Simple.
The Nike accessory is only compatible with the nano and not your iPod video.

  • Computer not recognizing that my ipod is pluged in!!

I have recently reformatted my comeputer and got some new music put on my itunes and when i tried to plug in my ipod it just doesnt do anything...like the little screen on the ipod that usually sais "do not disconnect" doesnt come up...the computer doesnt even accnowladge that anything is pluged in...i tried downloading the newest ipod softwhare and that didnt work...i tried putting in the origional disk that came with it and that didnt do anything...also when i plug my ipod into the computer it drains the battery instead of charging it...suggestions??

I don't know if this might work for you guys but this is what got my problem solved. If you experience the following, the Ipod was working but suddenly it stops working (i.e. the ipod screen is totally blank no icons like battery low or whatever) and when you connect it to the computer the little sign that means do not disconnect does not appear (the pc does not recognized that the ipod is connected) then maybe this might solve your problem. Do not connect the Ipod to the computer for about 24 hours. Do not try to charge it or anything just leave it by itself let the battery drained then try it the next day and hopefully the icon of battery is low will appear then you can charge it by connecting to the pc.
This is what happened to me by accident i guess, i had given up and had realized that i had just spend two hundred dollars on something that didn't work but today i tried to turned it on and the battery is low icon appeared so i connected to the PC and now it works.
    Good Luck.

  • Computers not recognizing that my ipod is connected

Not too long ago, my ipod froze. It was left to die therefore it could be charged back to life, and the battery did die, but now it won't charge because not a single computer is recognizing that the ipod has been connected. I've tried more than one computer, (2 PC's, 1 mac - right now it's restored to a PC), i've tried more than one cable, and I've even tried to charge it in my boyfriends car ipod charger/tuner player (and his ipod works perfectly fine on it)!
The ipod turns on, so an apple is seen on the screen, but after a few minutes while it's still on the screen, it shuts itself off and says "Please Wait Very Low Battery" but I can't charge it! I'm so confused!
I'm very confused and would like to try to fix this asap!
If anyone has any idea what to do, please, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I received some help from my brother, and searched how to put the ipod in disk mode, and so far it has been charging and is showing up in my itunes!

  • I just bought a new ipod and I'm trying to download my itunes library and games but itunes is not recognizing my new ipod. I have followed all the instructions from apple asistant except deleting and reinstalling itunes.  What can I do.

I bought a  new Ipod (5th generation).  I am trying to sync it to my itunes.  I tunes does not recognize my new ipod. It is registered.  I was only able to download purchases I made from my old ipod.  I cannot download my itunes library or any of the games I have purchased. I tried using the troubleshooting guide to no avail.  The only thing I did not do was to uninstall and reinstall itunes.  I did update it to the latest version. How can I get  itunes to recognize my new ipod?

    - You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.
    - Have you tried everthing here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - You should

Your library/media will not be affected.

  • USB device not recognized with 160G ipod

I did absolutely nothing different, no updates, no hardware upgrades, didn't drop my ipod, suddenly when I plug my 160g classic into my computer vista just says "usb device not recognized" and I cant do anything. I can charge my ipod on my radio dock but that's it. I've tried plugging it into 2 32bit vista desktops, 1 32bit vista laptop, 1 XP laptop, and 1 64bit vista laptop and they all give me the same message. I've tried many different usb ports, and 2 different cables, nothing works. Help please!

I don't know if this will help you, but I was having the same problem and when I sent it off for repair...they sent it back saying it was not under warranty b/c it had liquid damage, etc...bunch of BS! Anyway, I called tech support to do a little venting and the technician said i should try uninstalling itunes, Apple updates, and quicktime which will not mess up your library, etc. Restart and then download newest version of itunes from apple website which i did. I restarted again and then connected IPOD 160G to it and to his credit...Ipod started to connect and be recognized in itunes. I had to restart one more time w/ ipod connected so it would all sync, but bottom line...it worked. Apparently, the itunes/quicktime updates can screw w/ these new ipods causing problems. Why they just don't come out and say that or at least suggest this line of solution when they send an ipod back unrepaired...i don't know....very poor cust service on that end of it. Hope that helps.

  • USB Device Not Recognized - is my iPod toast?

Got a new computer recently with Win XP. When I try to connect my iPod with a USB adapter I keep getting "USB Device not Recognized" and if I click that I get "Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, replace the device."
I can connect other USB devices like my compact flash cards etc. The iPod was working on my old computer.
    Any ideas??
Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I had a new ipod and windows wasnt recognizing it or giving me the message "new hardware found" and then telling me the drivers were missing... this is what I did and it fixed my problem.
    1. go to www.driverguide.com and sign up (for free)
    2. download usbstor.sys & usbstor.inf (and take note of where you download them to)
    3. update drivers by selecting folder you downloaded the two files to
    4. restart computer
    5. open itunes and then connect ipod
    good luck

  • Nike + sensor isn't recognized by my iPod nano (5th generation)

I've tried everything but I can't get my new iPOD nano (5th generation) to locate my sensor. I've tried rebooting the iPOD, I've tried turning the senor on and off a bunch of times and nothing. The battery isn't low. Any other suggestions?

if you haven't already figured it out; you have to also have the Nike+ receiver - it's the little white plug that plugs into the bottom of the ipod nano
there's MAJOR confusion among apple employees who say that the 5th generation ipod nano, which i recently bought, automatically detects the sensor - but it doesn't. You need the sensor AND the receiver.
hope this helps; albeit a little late. cheers-

  • Windows not recognizing that my ipod is connected

Right now im annoyed!! What happened is this! I got a ipon nano for christmas and installed all the software on my mums computer at home, the ipod worked fine. I returned to my house after xmas and installed the software again, and everytime i instert my wire nothing happens, the screen on my ipod doesnt change and itunes says that no ipod is connected. I tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling, still didnt work, so then tried installing updater, but asked me to connect ipod to update, still didnt recognize my ipod. I read through all of my leaflets and noticed that it said that ipod can onloy be installed on any one computer or apple device at anytime?
So yesterday i went into the apple store, and they played around with my wire as they thought it might be the problem, they were NO help at all, just told me it worked and theres and to go home and try it, needles to say it didnt work, ive just tried my wire in my friends laptop who is an ipod shuffle and it worked fine. Now what the **** is going on?? its utterly disgraceful that these things cost so much and i cant use it!

Okay, first, lets try putting the iPod into Disk Mode then it should be recognized by the computer. Does it say "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod when it's connected?

  • I Tune is not recognizing my new Ipod Nano that I received as a replacement due to the battery recall.  Any ideas how to get it to recognize my device?

I recently received my replacement Ipod nano for the battery recall earlier this year.  I went to go register it, yada yada and ITune wont recognize the device.  I have no idea what to do now.  I have tried 3 different cords and still nothing.  Any suggestions?  I am totally frustrated.

  • Itunes not recognizing 7th gen iPod after updating to windows 8.1 and latest itunes, works on other computers

So I updated my computer to 8.1 I don't know if I synced my ipod after that, but I know immediately after updating iTunes, I began to receive an error message saying iTunes recognizes that I connected an iPod, but can't identify properly.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as restarting the computer, trying different USB ports. it works when I connect it to other computers.

  • I changed my password on itunes on my PC and now it is not recognized on my ipod

I changed my email address and thus changed my apple ID and also my password,  it is recognized when I log in to itunes on my pc but when I try to download apps or update apps on my ipod touch, it shows my old apple id and will not accept the new or old password, i have snyched the ipod with the computer hoping that would help but it has not, tried it several times after restarting computer, using a different usb port, what is the next step

The apple ID as I did not see anywhere just for email address , but then the ID is the email address, original ID does not work with new or old password, but is displayed on the apps page on iPod when trying to update apps, so ID is changed on PC and all is well it is the iPod that isn't

  • Fix that works for my itunes/my-computer not recognizing 5G 60GB Ipod

    Hi:
For me this fixed all problems with my own PC at work (when others in building worked fine). Turns out I had some networked drives and did not realize there was a conflict even.
    Russ Jacobson
It is from the following help area on apple:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499
Strange iPod behavior when Windows confuses iPod with network drive
If the drive letter after iPod ("E" in most cases) is mapped to a network drive, both Windows Explorer and iTunes may exhibit strange behavior in relation to the iPod.
    Symptom
One or more of the following occurs:
    * iPod does not show up in iTunes or as disk in Windows Explorer.
    * iPod does not show up as disk in Windows Explorer (even though disk mode is enabled on the iPod).
    * iTunes and Windows Explorer report the wrong amount of available space on iPod.
    * No songs appear on the iPod after an apparently successful update from iTunes.
    * Music copied to mapped network drive instead of iPod.
    Products affected
    * iTunes for Windows
    * iPod (all models)
    * Microsoft Windows 2000
    * Microsoft Windows XP
    Solution
This issue is documented in Microsoft Knowledge Base document 297694, "New Drive or Mapped Network Drive Not Available in Windows Explorer".
Changing the drive letter of your network volume should resolve the issue. If you are unable to change the drive letter of the network volume because your programs depend on a specific drive letter, then you can use the following steps to change the drive letter of your iPod instead.
    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Double click on Administrative Tools. Note: If you don't see Administrative Tools, look at the left column in Control Panel for a link that says, "Switch to Classic View," and click it.
    3. Double click on Computer Management.
    4. In the left column, click on Disk Management.
    5. Locate the iPod and right click on it, then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
    6. Click the Change button.
    7. Use the drop-down menu to select a new drive letter. Note: Make sure to choose a new drive letter that is not already assigned to a network drive. The drop-down menu will display all available letters that are not assigned to a physical drive. Drive letters that are assigned to a network volume will still be listed here. It is also a good idea to assign a drive letter other than a, b, c, or d, as these letters are usually reserved for other system drives.
    8. Click OK.
    9. Click Yes on the confirmation dialog.
