any time i want to browse with application on my nokia 110 the internet icon doesn't appear and it doesn't connect

have you checked with your network carrier that you have the correct settings for mobile internet, and that mobile internet is indeed activated on your service?

Nokia Messaging doesn't work with vanity domains

Nokia Messaging's "simplified" setup means I can't get it to work with my vanity domain. I can't get it to ask me what server it should use, it just complains that it can't connect - which isn't very surprising when it doesn't give me any opportunity to tell it which server to use.
I have emails from my domian forwarded to my Gmail account. The Gmail account itself works fine with Nokia Messaging, because the automatic setup works. The problem is that I want the reply address to be [email protected], not [email protected] Entering [email protected] as the address means Nokia Messaging insists on trying for some non-existent mail server for mydomain.com and doesn't give me the opportunity to enter the details for Gmail.
Does anybody know of a way to enter the details manually?
Assuming it's not possible to enter the details directly, not only is this a major problem for people who forward mail from their vanity domians, but it's potentially a serious security problem too. In its attempts to find the right server, Nokia Messaging must be connecting to some mail server somewhere and trying to log in with my username and password. Who knows what server it decided to try? Who knows who now has my login information? It's bad enough that Nokia store your login credentials, but it's just plain dangerous that they think it's OK to send them to random servers on the internet as they try to find the right one.
Why isn't there an "advanced" option so I can just set it up myself? Why, even after it has failed to connect, can't I just enter the required details myself?
Seriously Nokia, it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you never ask for the right server to connect to, your service is not going to work for anything but the most straightforward cases. You can't guess it right every time and when you try and guess you leak people's login credentialsto who-knows-who.

"Reply-to" address should be a feature of Nokia Messaging. I too have my work email forwarded to gmail to be able to use it with Nokia Messaging.
I have requested this feature since the app was on beta. and i'm doing it now again.
Maybe if we all request it they will take it seriously, but here is the wrong place to do it.

Last time I wrote to that email they replied asking for more details about what i was requesting. I'm not sure if they will do it or not, but at least their questions made me feel they would.

I've tried using my mac and my pc now. It doesn't connect with anything. The computers recognize the phone, but the software doesn't. Any idea whats going on?

Nokia Link doesn't work with PR1.1 (EDP_FAILED)

I was having a great time with Nokia Link syncing my photo's and video's to my pc. But after installing PR1.1 on my N9, Nokia Link fails: EDP_FAILED
Reconnecting the phone, restarting the phone and even doing a hard rest on the phone din't bet my N9 to love Nokia Link again.
Connecting my phone still works fine and I can browse the phone as well, so that doesn't seem to be the issue.
Any other suggestions?
People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.

Doesn't open with application I want

I want to open all .smi files with Text Wrangler. The computer thinks the .smi files are disk image files whereas they are just subtitle files similar to srt files. However, when I choose GetInfo and select Text Wrangler and choose "Change all files to open with this type", I get a question box asking me whether I want to open all files with Disk Image. If I choose "Yes", then I get Disk Image as the default application, and if I choose "Cancel", I still get Disk Image.
In other words, it doesn't let me choose Text Wrangler to open all files of this type (.smi).
What should I do?

I fixed this problem. What I did was I clicked to open a file. I chose "other" for the application I wanted the file to open with. Then after that a dialog box opened called "Choose Application". In this window, I chose "All Applications" for "always open with".
Then I chose Text Wrangler from the Applications list. Then I clicked "Open".
After that I right-clicked an .smi file from a Finder window and chose "Get Info" for that file. After that, Text Wrangler came up as the first choice in the list, not Disk Image, and I was able to select Text Wrangler as the default application that opens all files of that type (.smi).
So the trick was to change the "enable" part in the "Choose Application" dialog box (obtained by choosing "other" when selecting the application to open the file with) and changing "Recommended Applications" to "All applications".
After that, everything works fine and I can change the default application using Get Info.

Nokia 5610 Xpress Music - Problem with Application...

I have a problem in my Nokia 5610 Xpress Music.
I can't access Applications! When I enter an application, a message says:"supportive file. nothing to display". However, I can enter some of the 'Applications' from the 'Go to' button in the stand by screen. My 'Calculator' has disappeared from my Organizer.

Now, in this present case: For an instance,The calculator has disappeared. It is a part of firmware which cannot be edited.If it was a symbian phone then there was a possibility of developing a patch.But, with s40's the only option you have is to go for an firmware upgrade,if you can do it by yourself then well enough.Otherwise you need to visit the care center where you can get your firmware updated or get a stable firmware which has a calculator.

Nokia Chat doesn't work with Belle in N8

Hello.
I upgraded to Belle this weekend but now the chat app doesn't work. I got it again from the store, and now it only shows as a widget, not as an app, but it simply doesn't work.
I click on the widget, there's an update on the screen so the touch seems to have been recognized, but that's it, nothing happens after that.
Is anyone else had the same problem?

Odd thing, we have N8 and 701 both running same / stock Belle version. The new Chat in N8 work fine but not on 701. On 701, won't accept my valid login to GTalk!
BTW, the new Chat found on Store actually havs improved widgets; one per service. Too bad it is still not fully ready for prime time...

3.0.2 software is probably the best and came out several years ago - the issue is the Remote software you now have or that you need to reconfigure it.
Check there isn't an old version of remote in your trash - if there is save a copy of it!

IE browser (WP8.1) doesn't work with vodafone.co.u...

... which is hilarious since Vodafone is one of the world's biggest cellular companies, and they used to sell the Nokia 1020 on which I am testing it.
It doesn't make any difference whether you select the mobile or the desktop mode.
I have tried Opera and that doesn't even load the site at all, but I am not surprised since I run Opera Mobile on my 808 and it works only with a few websites (fortunately I don't do any general browsing with the 808 - it isn't capable of it).
In IE, microsoft appear to ignore the viewport tag.

Browse with a Nokia 5000?

Does the Nokia 5000 support web browsing 'out of the box' or does it need to have settings installed?

It should, but it depends...
The required settings are usually there on an open-market/retail handset for all the operators (carriers, service providers) in the country, or the phone retrieves them automatically from the network (allthough some network operators do not support it).
Operator branded/customized devices usually have that operator's settings there as default (part of the customization process).
If not, the device may also have a "Settings Wizard" application in the menu which you can run and it will get the settings from the network.
If not, you can always call the network operator and ask them to send the settings to you as a configuation message (which you open from the Inbox of the Messaging application and then save as default).
Some network operators also allow you to order the settings to be sent from their web page, or you can send a specific text message to them.
Some also send the settings automatically when they recognize a new phone for the first time on their network with their SIM card.
Also, if the built-in browser is not satisfying, you can also try, e.g., Opera Mini (depending on the phone and region, it might also be preinstalled already).

What version of word do you have? The TS3938 sounds like it's a PowerPC app- written for an old architecture that is no longer supported in Lion. If this is the case, your files are fine- you just need a newer version of word that will run in Lion in order to open them. The newest version (2011) should be readily available anywhere, and has worked fine for me ever since I switched to Lion on release day....

WebScan doesn´t work with iPhone browser

The C4780 web interface for scanning is very practical because no driver installation on computer is required for scanning. Just point any web browser to its internal web server, start the scanning process and download the scaned image as a regular element on a web page, all using web standards, right?
Well, wrong for the iPhone browser.
For some reason, the C4780 (and probably other HP multifunction firmware) has incomaptible/untested Javascript/HTML that doesn´t work with the iPhone browser.
On preview action I´m getting a question mark box.
On scan action - where a new browser window would open on a desktop - I get nothing.
Please fix that. It could be very useful for me since I can simply scan stuff directly to my iPhone without having to open a computer.

On the iPhone, go to Settings...Safari...Turn Blocked PopUps off.
Worked for me with a PhotoSmart C4700.
It would be even nicer to have a simple iPhone app instead of using Safari.

Hi all, the latest version of Nokia maps 2.0 all of a suddent doesn't work with new FW 210.34.75, I had to reinstall the previous version of maps 1.0 for it to load up again. What's the deal with FW 210.34.75, is it incompatible or what else?

Sorry i cant be of any more help but I have had no problems with Maps 2.0 and FW210.34.75. It installed and worked fine on mine. There was however 2 versions of maps 2.0 for phones with and without maps already installed. May be worth trying to re-download the installer and try again.

Using a new monitor, Mozilla Firefox now has a distracting horizontal line every few lines when scrolling. This doesn't happen with another browser. HELP!

hi Liza5, maybe that's an issue with hardware acceleration - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]] or in case there is no new version available at the moment or this doesn't solve the issue, disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

How can I get Firefox version 5? I use an application for banking that doesn't work with version 6 yet.
