"Best crypto" is also a good application for hiding private images.
You can get a trial version here:
www.smartphoneware.com/crypto-for-s60-3rd-edition-product.php
As a free alternative:
If your phone has the "zip" application on it you can hide files in password protected zip files. It's not an ideal method but it does work if you use it correctly.

    Hi again,
Again, the current S40 OS doesn't allow this, unless a firmware update adds this function - which is very unlikely.
There may be some 3rd party applications you can use, but personally I have not used one.

    Are you using windows XP?
Go to the Connect to... dialog from the windows start menu, select the Dial up connection you use for HSDPA, right click on it and select properties. From there then select the (nokia phone) modem, and click configure.
After that there will be an option to select the port speed, the fastest will be 921600 - then it will connect at 921600 - this is the fastest however actual throughput may be more than the speed of this connection I too came across this problem and learnt to live with it, even though my connection is usually a lot faster than that with HSDPA on my N82 and N95.

  • Having problem sending messeges from my nokia 6120...

    L $ G,
I am unable to send messages from my nokia 6120 clasic.there is no issue from opperator side.also checked the centre number and restore the factory settings but still problem remain.
is there anyone has the solution, kindly do the needful.
    regrds,
    Faheem

    Hi,
I've had the same problem, my Nokia E51 stopped sending text messages without any reason, MMS and other services were working as normal. Everytime I tried to send a text, it was saved in the outbox scheduled to be resent in a few minutes, and then it failed to leave the phone.
Thanks to the comments on this forum I managed to solve it. The steps are easy:
1- Save a back-up of the (contacts, messages, bookmarks, calendar and notes) I have used PC suite to save a back-up
2- format the mobile using the code *#7370#
3- try to send text after the mobile has restarted, you should be able to do so.
4- restore the the back-up again. The key here is not to restore the "user files from the phone memory" or the "settings" if you have already back-uped them. I'm not sure which one of them is causing the problem, but definitely one of them.
5- Try to send a text now, you should be able to do so.
The only down point about this is that you will have to customize your settings, themes...etc and you will need to setup email settings.
    I hope this is useful.
    Thanks

  • Nokia 6120 - Password to unlock keypad/Folders

I used to be able to set a password on one of my old nokias so that when you lock the keypad, and then come to use your mobile, you have to use a 4 digit pin. How can I set this on the nokia 6120 please?
Also, can you put passwords on folders or hide files somehow? I did put a password on my memory card but it still seems accessable without the use of a passcode!
    Thanks

I really haven't tried it as i think it's a waste of time, but i think if you go into the security settings there is a security code option i think.

  • ISync G5 with Nokia 6120 classic

Good afternoon (at least in my country),
I am not a Mac nor a cell phone wizzard and therefor i hope that one of you can help me out. I bought a mobile phone: Nokia 6120. I have a Mac G5 (old version without blue tooth). So far i managed (with the USB cable) to tranfer multimedia to my Nokia.
The problem is the Syncing. I have iSync 2.4 and it seems that this Nokia 6120 is not suported by iSync. I have read in this forum that using other plugins is risky.
*Is there another solution to sync agenda and contacts from my Mac to my Nokia 6120?*
If i understand it well Apple wants me to open a .mac account to enable syncing?
I don't want to pay just for syncing.
Please anyone here who can help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jacqueline

    Hi Jacqueline,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The use of iSync Plugins should not be risky - they are the official method Apple provides third-parties with for adding support for new phones.
As long as the iSync Plugin comes from a reputable developer who offers instructions, help and technical support you'll be fine.
What is risky is modifying files inside the iSync application (from instructions you might even find in this forum), or using iSync Plugins from less reputable sources who give no guarantees and aren't liable for any problems you might have.
One such reputable provider of a third-party iSync Plugin for your phone is novamedia. However, you are likely to need to purchase a USB Bluetooth dongle to sync your phone with. The only one officially supported and recommended by Apple is the D-Link DBT-120.
You don't need a .Mac account for syncing to a mobile phone. .Mac syncing is for syncing between Macs over the internet.

  • Nokia 6120 does not work on Vodafone live!

I purchased the Nokia 6120 classic from the Nokia shop in Slough 2 months ago.
I was informed by the sales representative that I would be able to use all the functionality on the handset – just as if I had purchased it directly from Vodafone!
2 months later I am still unable to connect to Vodafone live. This is because the 6120 is currently an unbranded Vodafone Live handset! Vodafone live is in text format only!
Because the handset is unbranded in the UK – I am unable to use services such as Sky TV, Vodafone mobile TV, Slingmedia, etc, etc.
That’s the last time I jump the gun – next time I’ll wait for Vodafone to support the handset before I purchase.
Not impressed Nokia shop in Slough!!!!!
“Good things come to those who wait”

It's not as simple as buying a sandwich.
The phone is fully compatible with vodafone, it's vodafone live that is not compatible with the phone.
Just because he's a manager does not mean that he will know everything about every network. He probably gave you the answer that he had been lead to believe, and the answer is, yes the 6120 classic is fully compatible with vodafone, which is true.
It doesn't matter how many times you ask, he can only tell you what he knows. They sell sim free phones, not voda branded phones. It's your job to test it as soon as you've bought it.
If I go into a shop and ask a question about an electronic item I will accept their answer, do my research on the net and buy the product. If it turns out the information is incorrect I will return it.
If you had used google as I suggested in my very first post you would have found that there is a way to get voda live fully working on your phone.

  • Nokia 6120 Classic Accept button not working

I have a Nokia 6120 Classic and is not working fine. I have decided to change my mobile.
Before change my mobile I want to backup all my data and telephone numbers. The problem is that Accept button is not working correct. When I start my mobile I can enter pin number but after this I can't enter the date because I have to use Accept button (the one in the top left). Is there any possibility to skip entering date? This is the only wey to enter mobile and backup my data
    Thanks

I was going to take it to Nokia care but duh? Should the button stop working suddenly? Without anything wrong also the same with the camera button also I'm not the first one to have this problem right? Then its not our problem but its Nokia's I thought there's another solution, but yeah I'm making angry posts can you just make good products? I see all the people complaint about that button **bleep**, you better not talk while maybe the problem from th company.

  • Memory/software issues with the Nokia 6120 classic...

Hi. I have a Nokia 6120 classic phone which I bought recently (not covered by warranty) and I'm having problems with the phone on my memory or software part (i don't know which one is exactly). I'm having issues like this for example when I'm to run Opera Mobile 10 on my phone after 2 or 3 sessions of browsing it starts telling me that it does not have enough memory and to close any other applications when non of them are really running at all (not even anti-virus). If I try to open it when for example an application like radio or music player is running it won't even bother to give me the loading logo or something, giving me the same memory error like it does in the previous described issue.
Another issue of this phone is when I open high quality 3gp videos in real player and I switch it to full-screen the video will freeze every 3-4 seconds, thing that doesn't happen when it's out of full screen.
Can somebody help me fix these issues? Thank you and good luck.

  • Nokia 6120 classic - Call log icons bug

    Hi to all.
This is my first message in the forum.
One week ago I bought a Nokia 6120 classic with brand Vodafone (I'm from italy).
Everything works great except  the icons in the call log, accessible with the green key (that's to say the answer key).
In fact, despite the phone numbers are correctly stored (and divided, for each contact, into mobile, home, etc.), the icons in the call lag is always the small blue icon related to a mobile phone niumber, even if  the number does not correspond to a mobile phone number.
    I have firmare version 4.21.
This is what appears with *#0000#
    v 04.21
    09-10-07
    RM-243
    Nokia 6129c EMS53.02
Through Nokia Software Updates I see there is a new firmare: v6.01.
Do you know if this firmware fix the call log icons bug?
As it is the unique bug I faced, I don't want to go on with a firmeware update if the new firmare do not solve it.
Unfortunately I can't find on the web a changelog for this firmware.
    Many thanks.

well the change logs for firmware updates are not public knowledge, they do not get released so in reality you never know what you are getting. firmware update is always recommened as it brings in more stability to the phone, usually fixes bugs, improves speed, sometimes battery performance and other identified issues. the chances are that you will not be able to find a changelog for your phone. you may not be able to update your phone unless it has been approved by voda since your phone is branded it is up to them to release approved firmware versions for thier customers.

  • Nokia 6120 Classic USB Modem is not working proper...

    Hello everybody!
Something strange happened last week with my Nokia 6120 Classic (version: 03.83). I regularly use it as a USB modem and last week's Wednesday it stopped working. What the problem really is due to, is hard for me to say precisely.
Using Windows Vista (Business, x64, SP1) "Connect to" function, I have previously connected to using HSDPA, but after last week the following happens:
Starts with "Dialing" then goes to showing status "Verifying user name and password" for less than a second after which Vista informs that "Failed to connect to..." and the phone shows the 3G symbol with dashed arrows below.
    I've tried the following:
    - reinstalling PC Suite (the latest, greatest version)
    - reinstalling the modem drivers (between Nokia USB modem and 6120 USB modem) using the whole reboot thing
    - using another USB port, which doesn't work since Device Manager reports that the driver can't start properly
    - restarting, cold resetting the phone
    - switching to GSM only
    - testing with another computer running SP1
    - removing modem init commands for the Internet connection
Now, the strange thing with the second computer was that everything worked just fine with it. My computer on the other hand didn't work at all!
I've put the modem communication logs from the working computer here:
    http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ah8pw9pjrf55_12g38wqpdt
And the modem communication logs from my non-working computer here:
    http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ah8pw9pjrf55_11hjcq39g4
What was interesting on my computer is the "NO CARRIER" line which makes no sense to me: why on earth is it starting to check for a carrier signal all of the sudden??
Any tips with this here dilemma would be greatly appreciated.
Message Edited by manywhere on 18-Feb-2008 09:47 AM

I tried using a Nokia E90 and connecting to the net using both PC Suite's "Connect to the Internet" and using Windows´ "Connect to" programs. With the E90, I had the same problems: fails at "Verifying user name and password" and the strange looking modem communications log.
What the heck is going on with my Windows installation here? I tried removing the drivers again, repairing PC suite and restarting the computer, but to no avail.

  • Nokia 6120 how to move messages to the memory card

  • Want to Install a Dictionary in Nokia 6120

I formatted the memory card and lost all the installation of Unidic, builtin with Nokia 6120 Classic phone, can i get it from anyone or anywher, please help or is there any freeware version of dictionary

Hi all, I do not sure whether my solution can help. However I have fixed both "Missing word database" and "install base package" for Dictionary on my N78. From my research and study, the manual steps and solutions works on other Nokia models as well.
May be you can have a try by follow the below steps:
    1) Go to http://www.nokia-asia.com/A4429895 (English-Simplified Chinese Dictionary 汉语双向词典), click Download Now.
    2) Follow the instruction
    OR
If above steps cannot work out, try below steps: (Tested on N78)
    1) Go to http://www.nokia-asia.com/A4429895 (English-Simplified Chinese Dictionary 汉语双向词典), click Download Now.
    2) Save the file .zip at Desktop.
    3) Extract the files to Desktop
    4) You will find private -> 101f9cfe after you extracted the files.
    5) Connect you mobile with USB cable, connect as "Mass Storage".
~ Note: It will not allow you to see/create "private" folder when connected as PC SUITE.
    6) Once your mobile connected as "Mass Storage", in Windows Explorer, you can see "private" folder.
    7) Copy private->101f9cfe from destop(Computer) into the private folder(your mobile memory card).
    8) Try to open the Dictionary. It will back to normal.
For Details story of my solution, you can refer to below URL:
