My nokia 6230 turns off without cause!?

my nokia keeps turning off,
i am reasonably sure it is not the battery as this problem occours while charging aswell as without charging. Also occasisonally, it doesn't turn off completely, just goes onto a white screen and can only be stopped my the removal of the battery.
Has anyone else had encountered a similar problem and can help me?
Thankyou

This is usually a software error that can be fixed by reinstalling the OS. You can't do this you_rself as this model is too old to be supported by the software updater, so you have to take it to a service point.
Definitely agree with this. Sometimes a slightly corrupt firmware might compromise the performance of the phone as a whole. But there is also a possibility that it's a hardware problem.
Good luck

  • Nokia 5530 Turns off when making a call

I have a real problem, my Nokia 5530 turns off if I try to make a call or receive one, the only way it will work is if the headset is pluggeed in, I have tried everything, Restoring Factory settings, Hard reset etc...
Anyone else have this problem? Help...
    Cheers
    Rob

I have exactly the same problem. I Went to a Nokia Care Point in Lisbon and they upgraded the firmware to the New one ( 11.0.054 ), but with no success.
I tried old SIM Cards, Newest SIM Cards, With / Without Memory Card, Factory Settings, nothing Worked. I Guess it´s probably hardware, maybe a faulty battery.
I ´ll have to send it to repairment..it´s really upsetting.

  • My MacBook Pro turns off without warning

My MBP (13 inch, purchased mid 2010) turns off without warning. It is a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4 GB Memory running OS X Version 10.9.4. It happens after periods of both short and long use and has been occurring for the last few months. I keep it updated regularly. I have yet to receive a report when I turn it back on that explains the shut down. So far I have reset the SMC and PRAM as others have mentioned that it helps. No luck though. My battery lasts all day, and I don't use my computer heavily. It doesn't feel hot when it turns off either. There is simply an audible "click" and a black screen. Can anyone help explain this? It is getting very frustrating having to constantly worry that it could crash at any second.

  • Macbook air turned off without warning?

Hi! Last night my macbook air turned off without warning and wouldn't turn back on until I tried again this morning. A few weeks ago I had my battery and logic board replaced and since then it the screen has gone blue for a few seconds and then back to normal a few times, (in case this is related at all). Is there something I should do to make sure this doesn't happen again.

As you say it is just been repaired I would take it back to the place that repaired it and ask them to look at it.

  • MacBook turn off without warning

My 4-year-old MacBook start turning off without low power warning while on battery.
I checked the battery level, it's usually around 20~30% once I plug it back on and restart.
Any one have any idea?  I got a new battery last summer, and I really don't want to pay for another one.
The following is the information of the battery and my MacBook.
    Model Name:          MacBook
    Model Identifier:          MacBook2,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Version 10.4.11
    Battery Installed:          Yes
    First low level warning:          No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh):          3989
    Remaining Capacity (mAh):          1409
    Amperage (mA):          1584
    Voltage (mV):          12028
    Cycle Count:          152

Your battery info doesn't look bad.  Have you ever calibrated your battery?  This is necessary not so much for the health of the battery, but rather to make sure the battery and your MacBook are in sync.  Calibrating your battery is what allows your MacBook to estimate how much of a charge is remaining.  Over time, without calibrating, they can become out of sync.  When this happens, your computer may think you have a 20% charge, when the battery only has a 1 or 2 percent charge.  Since your computer "thinks" it has plenty of charge remaining, it doesn't alert you or go into sleep... but then the battery just runs out.  Here are the instructions for calibrating your battery:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1490
You might want to reset your SMC first as this is a fairly quick process and see if that resolves your problem first (although you should still calibrate your battery if you haven't done so):

  • Mac mini turns off without any reason

My Mac mini turns off without any reason. I just want to make a backup with time machine and after a while the computer doesn´t work anymore. I just see the start-screen with all the users and I had to sign with my user password. After the mac restarts, I had to start time machine again. I stopped energy-management, because I thought that might be the problem but not. Time machine should work the whole night, but I don´t want to sit the whole time next to the mac to wake him up every several minutes. What can I do?

    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Security & Privacy
If there's a closed padlock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane, click it and enter your login password when prompted.
Click the Advanced button and, in the sheet that opens, uncheck the box marked

  • Satellite A75-S229 often turns off without any reason

Satellite A75-S229 often turns off without any reason, everything ok with the AC power, the battery is allways remaining 100%. What's wrong? maybe the battery is too old (about 2 years) and need to be changed?
    THANX!

    Hi
Was the AC adaptor connected to the notebook during the automatically shut downs?
If yes then I dont think the old battery is a reason for the shut downs.
I presume this is a simply overheating issue. Did you ever clean the cooling modules in this notebook?
The notebook is about two years old and maybe a dust and debris inside the notebook could have a bad influence on the air circulation.
I think the professional fan cleaning will help to avoid the random automatically shut downs.

  • My Imac will suddenly turn off without warning and then take several hours before it will switch back on again

My Imac will suddenly turn off without warning and then take several hours before it will switch back on again. Can anyone advise?

    I like that third tag...
There's really no telling what the problem might be - you may want to try running the Apple Hardware Test (if you can) to see if you've a hardware issue. If you can't even get to the AHT, you've no option but to take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them run diagnostics on the machine.

  • Computer turns off without warning on battery power

Starting a few weeks ago I've found that my Macbook Pro has been turning off without warning while on battery power. The first time this happened it was after about an hour of use and now it happens within a half hour or less. If I try turning it back on it shuts off before OS X is fully loaded. According to CoconutBattery my battery's health is at 97%, so the battery isn't losing overall charge capability. When I'm on battery power it says I have 2-3 hours of battery life left. Sometimes I notice this will drop between 1-2 hours after 20-30 min of use (if it'll stay on that long) but it never drops and gives me a warning of low battery. It just shuts off without warning. If I press the button on the battery after this happens I do get 4 out of 5 lights. This never used to be a problem. My computer is 14 months old. I've replaced the battery once about 8 months ago (under warranty) because my original battery was losing capacity very quickly. Because 14 months have passed I can't simply get a new battery under warranty. According to Cocoanut Battery and the Finder my battery should last near it's full capacity. I can't figure out why it's randomly shutting off. I have had all the latest updates including the recent battery patch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will award "solved" for a solution and "helpful" for posts that contribute to the solution. thanks!

Actually (and fortunately), that's incorrect. Apple extended the warranty for all Core Duo notebook batteries to *2 years* from date of purchase. Details are here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macbook_macbookpro/batteryupdate/
Your full charge capacity is fine (as you noted). But one of the symptoms listed on the linked page is +"Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300."+ The word runtime in there applies, so I would call Apple or make a Genius Bar appointment and head into a store. (I did the latter, they replaced mine - free of charge - 15 months after purchase, no AppleCare, and no hassles).
    Hope this helps...

  • Toshiba M645 laptop turns off without reason

I have been dealing with this problem for about 4 months. It has been seen by some technicians and never found the cause. Some thought it was due to the settings in the power options either by what the lid does, or when it should go to sleep mode, and disabled it, but the nobody fixs it. Sometimes it would happen a couple of minutes after starting it, so heating problems are not involved. Some  other times I would be working on bat only and it does it once, I turn it back on and continues to run normal. Some other times, It shuts down like three times in a row, and for no reason stops doing it. One techinician said it could be motherboard problems, and I starting wondering why I bought a Toshiba laptop, if supposedly I was buying top of the line product, recommended by some friends, and now I beleive Toshibas are causing a lot of trouble. Specially if a laptop is just one and a bit year old.
I am really disappointed. Maybe some other owners of M645 can help me

When you say that it has been seen by some technicians, do you mean you returned it to Toshiba under warranty for service, or that you had it looked at locally by a 3rd party?
When it shuts down, is it a hard shut down where it just turns off, or does it go through a proper shut down?  When you restart, do you get any error messages?

  • Turning Off Backlight Causes Kernel Panic Lenovo y550p Laptop

Recently my Lenovo y550p has started with an issue that seems to be persistent with others using a similar hardware profile with newer 3.1 kernels.
When using the function keys, or letting the screen backlight turn off after a certain amount of time through power settings, upon turning the screen back on I receive a kernel panic. The issue has been documented here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=748210, by others with the same issue. I haven't seen anything for this with Arch and was wondering if it will be looked into or if a fix is known?
    Thanks

Glad I'm not the only one. My temporary solution was to download the kernel and wl package from December 2012 found http://repo-ck.com/PKG_source/ and then mkpkg and install it. It'll work as an alternative for now, without messing up the primary kernel setup.
