My Nokia Lumia 720 screen has been broken :(

Accidentally it fell down from around 3 ft height. Only the screen is broken. Rest everything is working fine including touch response at the severely affected areas (search button). But the Nokia care people are telling to replace the whole screen (inner LCD also) which will cost around 7,500. what the **bleep** is this! Plz help me out in this.
Waiting for your quikest reply.

Depends upon the availability of the spares and the Repair jobs a Service Centre have at hands. You may search the nearest NCC thru' THIS or click on 'Nokia Support' tab at the bottom of this page..then click 'Contact' at the bottom of the page that follows..and finally 'Contact Support' to reach different channels thru' which you can contact Nokia and ask ...

  • Nokia Lumia 720 screen has black patches within on...

    Hi,
There is a major concern in the case of my Nokia purchase with respect to the below issues
    1) Quality of product
I bought my Nokia Lumia 720 from an online retailer and in a week, I discovered there is a black area on the screen which became very obvious in the white backgorund (I couldn't notice it earlier because Windows mainscreen uses colored tiles on black background). Please see the picture attached.
Just in a week ? Or maybe it's a manufacturing defect
    2)  Quality of Customer service level and support
I reported this immediately to the Nokia Customer care through an email and they asked me to take to the customer care centre. I wrote them stating my concerns and if I can get a replacement. They didn't discuss it and just asked me to visit the Nokia Care.
Having submitted it at a service centre in Bangalore, India, they were clueless about the issue as it was their first experience with Nokia Lumia 720.
They concluded that the battery has bulged and they need to further investigate. And they tried to put blame on me assuming I might have put the device in water, over charged it or if I fiddled with the battery
I've not done any of the above and I told them, for users the battery is not removable
They argued that it is possible to remove because they could remove. I told them, fine but I haven't
They informed me they'll update me.
Only after I enquired two days later (they haven't bothered to contact me), they have sent the device to the headquarters in Delhi and will take 10 days minimum. And I'll have to pay for repair
    Pay for the repair ?
What I can't take it is they told there would be an amount charged for the repair.
    3) Fairness of treatment / Customer satisfaction
It's been one week since I purchased the mobile, I'd sent out my first email bringing up this issue. I've paid full money to purchase this. I've already informed that I have not taken my device near water or over charged it or dropped it. It has been a very normal usage.
I've co-operated in every possible way. And if the device is found damaged in a week, shouldn't it be replaced ?
I had raised the same concerns via email but I've stopped getting any response from email specialists at nokia care after an initial reply.
I'm worried because there is a similar description of the issue in the following video and the person got an immediate replacement
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYsK0c-wXvI
Since I bought it from an online retailer, I had no option but to visit the Nokia Care.
I'm feeling like a fool as I purchased a Nokia in 2013 much against the popular opinion of getting a Samsung or an Apple.
    Will I get a replacement ?

  • Portege Z830 - screen has been broken and I need to replace it

    Hi
I have Toshiba Portege z830. My screen has been broken and I need to replace it.
Is it possible to install some IPS screen instead of original LTN133AT25-601? Which IPS screen is compatible with LTN133AT25-601?

    Hi
The original LCD which was used in Z830 was an 13.3"(HD) 1366 x 768 TFT Color LCD.
So if you want to use other display, then you should pay attention to the screen size and the connectors.
I think these are most important key elements.

  • Nokia Lumia 720 screen hooked

What can I do. I have been having difficulty calling with my Lumia 720. The screen will just be stuck. I could neither scroll up or down, until I remove the battery and start all over again. This is getting embarrassing for me. I need an urgent response on what to do. My likeness for the phone is weaning.

Next you remove the battery, leave it out for at least 10 seconds and see if that helps. Does it still happen if you remove the sim? You could also try resetting your phone. Be sure to backup your data beforehand.

  • Nokia Lumia 720 Screen Problem

    Hi,
My 720 Lumia keeps blacking out randomly from hours on end before the screen is back up and runnign again. During this time though the phone is still on and I get texts and calls ook, but the screen is still not on. I tried the restart method to reboot the phone but ut didn't work. I can hit the lock key and the home, search and back buttons will still light up.
I've not a clue what is wrong with it. Any ideas?
    Sláinte,
    Pendtoni93

Hi, Pendtoni93. Are you still having this issue? When you said 'restart method', did you press and hold the volume down and power keys together until the phone vibrates and starts up?
Is the software of the phone updated? What's the current Firmware Revision number of the phone? Is 'Lumia Black' displayed under Settings > Extras+Info? How about the system apps? http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/Nokia-Windows-Phone-8-App-Updates/td-p/1640082
If no, please go to Settings > Phone Update to manually check for it. Ensure that the internet connection is active. Verify this by searching via Bing or browsing via Internet Explorer of the phone.

  • My Nokia lumia 710 battery has been saying it's at...

So for about a day now my phones been saying it is it full battery but earlier today had died on me so I do not know what to do with it I've tried removing the battery and putting it back in and that hasn't worked

So are you saying that there is a fault with the Phone, the battery or the battery app ? You say it showed 100% for a couple of days, which I would say was pretty good, if you are only using the battery symbol at the top of your screen I would suggest trying a battery level application and installing a tile on your screen that gives you a percentage reading on the screen and see if that is any more accurate, there are several free in the store.
    Good Luck

  • Broken Nokia Lumia 520 Screen Lcd and touch screen

How much would it cost to repair my nokia lumia 520 Screen? Please Help

Depends on the country, you'd need to ask Nokia care in your country directly. Now that the 520 has dropped in price it would probably cost less to replace it with another 520, or the newer 530.

Im sorry I dont know how to start a topic, hope you all dont mind but really need advice.
My boyfriend bought me a Nokia Lumia 720 for my birthday 6th of Sept this year. I had it only a week and when I dropped it and I smashed the screen. Instead of sending it nokia, I completely did the wrong thing and brought it to the local repair shop as I thought it would be done there and then and so the story begins.
The technician had a look at it and quoted 50 to 60 euro for a new screen as the LCD was still working, I said fine so he ordered the part in and let me use my phone till it came. Week or two later brought it up and he said it would be fixed within the hour. I came back only to be told he had trouble getting it apart and it would not be ready till the next day.
My boyfriend went up to get it the next day and he was told there was another problem, the screen and LCD were fused together so the technician said the part he got was no good that I need the two of them together and would be bout 90 euro. As the phone was in a million pieces I kinda didn't have a choice so told him that was fine and go ahead to order it.
Another week or two went and I got a phone call to say he could not get the part he wanted so he had to order the hole front of the phone and it would be now 150 for parts and labour. I gave the extra money as I was really fed up and just wanted my phone back that I barely used. I waited and waited and the part finally arrived around the 24 of Oct, I know because I was fuming it wouldn't be ready as I was going to England on the 27th Oct.
My boyfriend was in touch with them while i was away and it was suppose to be collected on the Saturday the 1st of November.I was really excited as I was coming home that night to my fixed phone but again it didn't happen.
The technician told my boyfriend (after staying an hour or so and been back and forth to the shop) that it was still calibrating and wouldn't be ready till Monday. Monday came and as I was working my boyfriend collected it, I finally had my phone but alas it was too good to be true. The camera was not working and when I got my boyfriend too ring me (when he was beside me) I could not hear a thing. On the Tuesday morning he brought it back and told him the issues, the technician was full of apologies and said he would have another look, he updated or restored the phone and told him to bring it home and when it finished what it was doing everything would be okay.
After the clogs on the screen went off I tried to switch it back on like the technition said but it never did, I even tried charging it but it was like it was dead nothing happened. I went straight back to the shop put it on the counter and told him to fix my phone that what ever he did its not working at all now. Again he was full of apologies and said he would take it home and see what he can do. My boyfriend rang a couple of days later and the technician said he is going to order a camera piece for it, I said I was not paying for it as the camera was working when we brought it up, he said he would "take the hit for it" and it will be 10 to 24 days delivery.
I rang and talked to the manager saying I wasnt happy, he was also full of appoligies and said he would have a look at it for me also. Never heard anything more from him like I was supposed to.
I got a phone call yesterday 2nd of January and the technician said the camera part was put in but it is still not working, he said there is nothing really more he can do. Im so upset because it was just a cracked screen everything else was working.
Long story short nearly 3 months  and 150 euros later my phone is worse off than I left it in.
I need a little advise in what to do if he tries handing me back a broken phone. I am going to go to citizens information for legal advise but I also need some technical advise on this issue. Could it have been a faulty phone? Is everything that he has said about the parts true? Could he have broken the speaker and camera when he was trying to get the phone apart etc.
Sorry for the length of this, and if you could get back to me with some advise I would really appreciate it, thanks

  • NOT GETTING NOKIA LUMIA 720 LCD DISPLAY

    Sir
I have approached Nokia Care(now Microsoft) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
I have approached 3 Nokia Care centers, but no one was having the glass of Nokia LUMIA 720.
I have also asked them, can I give order to get the glass replaced? They directly told me a big NO.
Now, as a customer, I have to use the phone. So, I want to get advice how can I replace the broken screen?
    Thank you

The 720 has been out of production for some time, maybe there is a shortage of parts. The best thing to do is call the netional support line, explain your experience to them, and ask if there is anything they can do to help. Call (area code) 3030-3838, I assume the number hasn't changed.

  • Lumia 720 Screen problem

My Nokia Lumia 720 has been behaving strangely for a few weeks now. I can turn on the phone but then when I try to enter my PIN number the screen will not allow me to. The screen jumps around erratically. I've tried doing a soft reboot & a hard reboot with no real success. I've done some research on the internet look on Nokia forums to find a solution and I've come to learn that other people are experiencing the exact same problem. Last week I had an accident with my phone, it fell out of my hand and cracked the screen. It was a very small crack on the corner of the screen (the black part of the screen) The phone still works apart from the issue I had before the phone fell. I've just gotten back from a Nokia Care Centre in Bellville, Cape Town called Cellectro. The technician of the store had a look at the phone and suggested i have the phone's screen replaced at a cost of R1900 (One Thousand Nine Hundred Rand) before he can check if the phone's hardware is faulty....That don't make much sense to me because I had the problem before the phone fell. Please advise what I can do to fix the problem.

Had the exact same problem with my Lumia 720 screen — the tiniest conceivable crack in the corner, and terrible screen jitters predating that. Went to Nokia Care and they told me the same thing they told you: broken, therefore out of warranty. And they quoted a fantastic price for part replacement. They wanted to replace the LCD and the digitiser. What I've been told to try, and I will just now at an independent repair shop (regardless of whether it voids the warranty, of which there's four months left), is to replace just the digitiser, because the LCD itself appears to work fine. This is much cheaper. Will tell you if that works — but in the meantime, what did you do with your 720 ultimately, and did it work?
    Thanks.

  • Lumia 720 screen cracked

    Dear Nokia Support team,
couple of questions on Nokia Lumia 720
    - does the screen crack after falling from 3 ft given it is made out of gorilla glass?
    - can this be covered in the warranty? my device is just about 8 months old, and performing quite well, but this screen crack has not been a pleasant user experience
Look forward to hearing from you
    thx

Hi, this is mainly a user to user trouble shooting forum, but employees might drop by - however there's no guarantee.
However, I can answer this for you. Gorilla glass are not crack/shatter proof. Gorilla glass are tougher against scratches, but not even scratch proof.
So with the right speed, right angle and right surface it will break when dropped.
Cracking your screen from dropping it will not be covered by warranty unfortunately. You will have to pay for a repair/screen replacement.
