My notebook blacked out & Charger keeps Turing green & orange & laptop won't turn on

My notebook blacked out & Charger keeps Turing green & orange & laptop won't turn on , I need your help.

Which model MBP do you have (15" late 2011, for example).
There are a number of things you could try - restarting in Safe Mode (start up with teh Shift key held down), resetting the SMC, etc., but I don't really think that those 'quick fixes' are going to help.
If I were you, I would just take the machine into your local Apple Store and have them run diagnostics on the unit. If it's out of warranty, they'll give you an estimate for repair and will charge you nothing for the diagnosis and estimate.
Sounds as if you've a hardware issue... maybe try running the Apple Hardware Test and see if you've any errors?
Good luck,
Clinton

my iphone 5 keeps randomly shutting off and won't turn back on unless I plug it in to the charger

I'm experiencing the same issue. It's one thing to have to re-power up but to not be able to do so without plugging in the charger when the battery is substantially full, is a real drag.

  • Phone keeps working but my screen won't turn on

This afternoon I turned off the display screen like I always do and put it in my pocket and then went to turn it back on like 5 minutes later and it wouldn't come back on. It still works but the display screen won't turn on. HELP!!!!

Since the screen can't be turned on, how do you know that the phone still works. Is there enough power in your iPhone? I think you need to connect your iPhone to an outlet to see whether it can be charged or not.

  • MacBook Air won't charge and charger keeps the green light

I have tried a few chargers and it's not a charger problem because none of them has worked.
This is a MacBook Air from 2011.
The mac doesn't hold a charge anymore. Also, when the battery is at 0% the computer has turned extremely slow. At very few random times I goes up to 3% but I have to maintained it plugged in all the time otherwise it will go back to 0 and become unusable anymore.
The light is always green, and I have already tried doing an SMC reset.
Any ideas or has anyone encountered the same problem as I?
    Thank you in advance

thanks for the help! here is the info you requested. This is with the charger connected:

  • My phone ran out of charge last night and now it won't turn on when I charge it!

I've left it charging for about an hour now, the charger is brand new so it can't be that, and I can't restart it because my lock button is broke:(( anyone know what might be wrong or what I can do to sort it out:(

Typically you would want to reset device however since you can not.
    Perhaps trying other wall outlets.

  • My power adapter shows a light green/orange blinking, won't charge.

so today I hopped in the car with my macbook and spilt my water and a small amount of water got on the back near the spot where the battery plugs in. everything works fine still but it won't charge...any ideas? guess ill put it in front of a fan and hope for the best...and its out of warranty by a few months also, but i don't think warranty covers things like this anyways.
    thanks!

    Try a SMC reset:

Follow directions for a battery you should not remove yourself, or a battery you can remove (you are right on the change time)
It may also be the battery has given up the ghost.
Go to the Apple menu, hold the option key and select system info, select power from the left sidebar and see what the battery info says as it is 5 years old, it may ned to be replaced. Check charging staus, as well as health.
If a battery you should not remove, make an Apple store Genius bar appointment and have it checked out for FREE, they will then tell you your options.

  • MBP - Very dim green light and won't turn on

I left my mbp running, and drained last week (overnight). after which, I tried using it, and it wont charge anymore (it shows a very dim green light only when connected to the charger) and it doesnt power on either.
My brother opened it up, took out the battery and connected the charger, but same thing - just the faint green light. I also tried using the charger in my sisters macbook and it was working fine so i know its not the charger...
Weeks prior to this, i noticed i had to wiggle the cord at times before it shows that its charging but i just ignored it.
Could this be a port problem? My brother is considering a logic board failure as worst case scenario, but my mbp is just over a year old, and i dont understand why that would happen. I really took good care of my laptop.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
More than a port issue, I think it's related to the logic board. It looks like the charger is not detecting the battery, meaning that the battery connector is damaged, but the problem is that you can't turn on your Mac, so it means a logic board problem. Anyway, if it's a port problem, you will need the logic board replaced.
It's a very expensive repair, but if your Mac is in warranty, you will get it repaired for free. Take it to an Apple Store or reseller to get your logic board replaced. You didn't lose anything from your hard disk

  • TS3274 black coffee leaked onto my ipad, now it won't turn on

My iPad had black coffee leak into my bag, then onto the item itself. It first turned on, now will not turn back on at all, despite being charged. Is there anything I can do?

I would take it to the apple store. If you have already tried plugging it into a computer and you get no response, apple store is your best best.

  • So I just got my iphone, and i was trying to get it to download songs on my phone, when the phone suddenly died, and even though im charging it right now, it still won't turn on, been going on about 30 min to an hour now

So i just bought my Iphone, and i was trying to put songs on it from Itunes, when it suddenly turned off, and even though i have been charging it for the last hour, can not get it to even work, any suggestions?

Try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • I can't log out of my guest account because DLconnectMonitor won't turn off.  How do I turn it off?

I am planning on lending one of my Mac products to a friend so she can watch our Easter service on FaceTime.  In preparation for this, I logged into the guest account and found the administrator had to give permission for the guest to use FaceTime and DLconnectMonitor.  It looked like this had to be done for the guest account to work at all, so I gave permission.  When I went to log out of the guest account, I couldn't becauseDLconnectMonitor would not turn off.  I can't even find it on my computer.  Does anybody know how I can turn it off and log out of my guest account?

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

  • IPhone keeps flickering apple logo and won't turn on, any suggestions?

So I have a 4s 16 GB with the latest version of iOS 7 and just randomly as I was texting my friend my iPhone crashed. When I try to turn it on the apple logo stays flickering. I tried to enter in recovery mode and restore my iPhone but each time before the restore starts loading on the iPhone i get an error message 9. I have the latest version of iTunes and as well as the latest version of OS X on my macbook. I do not have any warranty on my phone which is why I haven't bothered calling apple. Any suggestions? I'd greatly aprreciate it.

    Howdy therye9,
It sounds like you are at this point unable to restore your phone due to error code 9. According to the following article, there maybe some security software interfering with communication to the update server so thats where I would start:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#9
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • My MBP won't turn on. The charger light goes green but then dims out before it goes out again

My MBP suddenly stopped working when I came back to it. I tried charging it with a couple of different chargers and different sockets. The charger light turns green but then slowly dims down before it turns off.
I tried all key combinations for starting up - holding the power key for long, Cmd+Opt+P+R with power button, Cmd+R with power button, but none of them work. The laptop won't turn on.
    What could be wrong?

If you are still under warranty call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.

  • Why is my Macbook Pro suddenly and constantly shutting down/crashing on me and giving me a blacked out or blued out screen with lines?  Seems like a total system failure is happening?

Macbook Pro- shortly after upgrading to free software upgrade to Mavericks- 10.9.5-
has suddenly been freezing up, but went more directly to 'shutting down,'  CRASHING on its own.  Most of the time, if I'm even able to successfully get the laptop turned back on, it only stays up/on for a few moments before repeating the failure.   The failure is often accompanied with the monitor going 'blank,' or most typically either 'blacking out,' or going blue/green or grey screen with lines or grids all over the monitor.  All Desktop visibility, functions or applications in process disappears.  This has caused repetetive 'forced shut downs,' which I never usually do, unless prompted to because I have no choice like this.... Or as I said, the computer itself will just shut down and turn off by itself.... Can anyone tell me what this issue is, and I'm pretty sure other Mac users have seen this exact thing I'm describing happening on their laptops, with their systems or on their monitors.  Someone please explain or point me in the right direction... as naturally my laptop just went out of warranty as well.... And I don't know if this means the entire system is basically corrupted, dying/dead... and or if it is a monitor issue, a hardware issue, software issue or if there is anything that can be done to restore, repair it, etc.?   Also another thing I have noticed ever since getting this laptop- (few years old now...) is that it runs VERY HOT... has in fact burned my lap /skin many times... and seems like the fan or internal operating systems/functions are also perhaps not functioning properly.  Can this also be causing the problem?  Or is it a corruption or virus of some kind? etc.   Thank you.

What you describe sounds like a hardware issue. Unfortunately, you'll need to get that checked out by Apple. If you have an Apple Store near you, make an appointment with the Genius Bar and take the machine in for evaluation.
