My notes on my iPhone 4s have disappeared.

All of my 40+ notes are gone. I tried to sync via iTunes, to no avail.
Can I restore from an earlier backup?

I already found out, that I used my Gmail account for the notes. I can see, most of them but not all, when I sign in on my computer with a webbrowser. But I can't see them on my Iphone (settings->mail, contacts, calendar->Accounts is Gmail for the notes and settings->notes->standardaccount is also Gmail). Don't know where the problem is .
Maybe it helps if I throw my iPhone against a wall and buy one from an other manufacturer...

I have reset my iphone and made sure all updates have been done on my macbook pro and iphone. It was after updating my macpro that I plugged in my phone and went to itunes to backup phone and can't see the device anywhere! I have also done all the troubleshooting that apple.com recommended too...all except re-installing itunes!

Apple hasn't done anything. This is a security feature that you did not check to see had been properly de-activated before buying the phone.
If there was a back door, it would be useless as a security feature.

I have recently purchased a used iPhone 4, when i plugged it into my pc a skull came up instead of the apple icon. My pc does not recognise the iPhone, I have tried everything that I can think of. Has anybody any ideas on how I can fix this?

You have apparently purchased a jailbroken phone. You can try to get it into recovery mode, then restore as new, but no guarantee it will work.

Notes Problem - "All Notes" and "On My Mac" Have Disappeared

I just noticed something odd with Notes. When I open notes I, usually, see three sections in the left sidebar: "All Notes", "Gmail", and "On My Mac". This time, there is only "Gmail". "All Notes" and "On My Mac" have vanished. Where did they go and how do I get them back? I haven't touched any settings. Mac specs and OS are below. Thanks.

I didn't have any notes "On My Mac" at the time. Is that why it "disappeared"?
I did figure out how to fix it, though. I went to System Preferences --> Mail, Contacts and Calendars, selected my Gmail account, and unchecked Notes. In the Notes app, my Gmail notes went away and "On My Mac" returned. I, then, created a note on my mac (to ensure that it would stay put). I returned to the system preferences and rechecked Notes in my Gmail account. All my Gmail notes returned and I, now, have both accounts back in the sidebar.
Occasionally, I might want to make a local note that I don't need to keep on the cloud. It's impossible to do that if "On My Mac" disappears. Kind of annoying.

How do i get the notes off my iphone 3gs that disappeared when i synced. The notes that appeared on my iphone where the same as were on my PC and they were 6months old. All the notes from January to June that i made on the iphone went somewhere?

On 25th JUNE I synched my ipone 3 gs to my PC with Outlook in Windows 7.
All the voice memos that I had recorded using the iphone app where backed up and appeared on my itunes voice memos BUT all the NOTES written on my iphone NOTEs app where not synched to notes in Outlook on my PC…in fact…. all the notes that I had entered into my iphone were GONE and the notes that appeared on the iphone where the same that were on my PC back in 27th Jan 2012…..so all the notes that I had entered into the iphone from January to June were gone…..NOT happy Jan!!
I need to find the NOTES that were entered into the iphone app that are somewhere in my iphone..
The Voice memos can across OK so why didn’t the NOTES…..and NO I did Not have icloud turned on as I have always used itunes as the back up…that is why I bought the iphone.

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

My iphone movies have disappeared

hi,
just going through my aperture library and have noticed that a large number of my albums have lost all iphone movies. they simply appear as black images and nothing happens if they are clicked.
Please can you help - as you can image, I do not want to loose these. I have a timecapsule plus a number of backups, but this is the first time i have really looked and noticed that they are missing.
I have a macbook pro retina 15 inch with aperture 3.4.5

What is the iPhoto version you are having, John? Assuming it is iPhoto '11, I'd suggest to open the library in iPhoto, create a smart album with all videos (File > New Smart album > Photo is Movie).
Then select all videos in the album and use the command "File > Export" and select "Kind is original", and use the original filename.
Direct the movies to a folder in your Pictures folder, where they are not likely to be accidentally deleted.
In Aperture select the videos with missing original files and use the command "File > Locate original File(s)".
See the Aperture user Manual on how to use the "Locate original files" dialog panel:

Scroll down to the paragraph: "To reconnect an offline referenced image".
After reconnecting the offline originals, you can consolidate them into the Aperture library, so they will be managed by Aperture. (File > Consolidate)

Vista does not recognize my iPhone / Not charging

Two problems:
1. Extemely slow charging:
- I've had my iPhone plugged in to the wall all night. The battery meter only shows 20% power.
- When charging from my computer or the mains, the charge icon does not appear.
- I've tried charging off my laptop, desktop and the mains.
- I've tried using the cradle and just the usb cable by itself.
2. Widows does not recognize my iPhone:
- I have Vista 32bit
- I have tried multiple USB ports, all of which work with other devices
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes about 10 times now
- I have restarted iPhone and my PC many times now
When I start the machine, this is the sequence of events:
1. I get a message saying:
"Windows needs to install driver software for you Unknown Device"
2. I get a message saying:
"Installing device driver software"
3. I get a message saying:
"Windows couldn't find driver software for your device"
- I click on "check for a solution"
4. Then it tells me:
"Windows Vista does not support midiport device"
PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I GO COMPLETELY CRAZY!!!

The failure to charge sounds like a defective cable. Check this first.
If you are running 64 bit Vista it will not work with the iPhone.
If you are running 32 bit Vista make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (7.5). The reboot the phone - hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears (about 8 seconds).

I have the same problem. A reset did not work for me. Safari is totally unresponsive, even in settings.

It seems my "passed" events in my calendar are not on my iphone anymore...Is there a setting I have changed that caused them to disappear? They do still appear on my Outlook calendar on my pc? How can I get them to show up on my iphone again?

Events that are in the past do not appear on my calnedar on my iphone. Have I possibly changed a setting that caused them to disappear? Can I get them back on my iphone as they do still appear on my Outlook calendar on my PC?

Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> in Calendar section change the Sync setting.
