My old computer crashed and i lost everything from contacts too music. i have a new labtop and want to sync my contacts and music and apps over to itunes without everything being erased. what is the easiest way to do that?

My old computer crashed and i lost everything that was on itunes and on the computer contacts music etc. i want to get the new iphone but the 3gs i have has not been sync with the new computer & I don't want to loose or have everything erased on my phone just want to put everything that's on my phone to new computer. what the most uncomplicated way to do that?

No.
All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
When music was purchased on a CD, if the CD was lost and you returned to the store where the CD was purchased with your receipt, were you given a replacement CD?
The same applies here.

Agreed heather. Also, if you have three users on the same account how do you keep phone calls and messages from going to all three phones?

  • I'm using a Mac, using OS 10.4.11 and I'm trying to save a downloaded .pdf file in Firefox 3.6.10, what's the easiest way to accomplish that?

I downloaded a file from Apple, Support and it downloaded as a .pdf file.(http://support.apple.com/manuals/#powermac - item # 38 (4th page 8th item down).
I want to cut & paste that .pdf into an AppleWorks 6.2.9 word processing document. Using the select All option, so as to highlight the material on the page - I'm not allowed this option(it doesn't do it, thus I can't copy the document and paste it. It's a 7 MB download.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HE39?viewlocale=en_US " How to Download Product Manuals (PDF files) states that:
    Using a Mac with Firefox:
    1) Click the manual you want to download. Firefox will ask if you want to open or save the document.
    2) Choose Save and select a location to save the manual.
The option/process 1) didn't take place - It simply went directly to the window showing that the download was taking place and that window shows what is being D/L and a progress bar.
In the preference options -->General I have selected "Save files to: Desktop". I have not selected /√ "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file", however, that is exactly what happens.
Thanks for any assistance that you can provide.

As you have a Power Mac you also have a alternative option to consider which is a third-party build from http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2011/08/601-now-available.html

There is a program(Sharepod) that allow to do that but it cost $35.00 but I thought that was free or it is because that now I have to buy from itunes only?

  • HT201269 my old computer crashed and itunes won't let me retrieve my old music, is there a way to do this?

Hi my old computer crashed and when I downloaded iTunes into the computer I'm using now, my old music didn't sync with the computer, even though it did last time I got a new device. How can I retrieve my old music from my iTunes account?

The follow included how to copy music form the iPod to your computer.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • What is the easiest way to create and manage very big forms?

I need to create a form that will contain few hundred questions. Could you please give me some advise on what is the easiest way to do that? I mean for example is it easier to create everything in Word (since it is easier to manage) and than create a form based on that?
My concern is that when I will have a very big form, containing different kinds of questions and with many scripts, managing it during work will be slow and difficult, for example adding a question in the middle of the form which would require moving half of the questions down which could smash the layout etc.
What is the best practise for that?
    Thanks in advance

Try using Table and Rows for this kind of forms. These forms will have the same look throught with a question and and answer section..
In the future if you want to add a new section, you can simply add rows in between..
    Thanks

  • What's the easiest way to digitize my VHS collection?

I have a bunch of old VHS video that I want to digitize into VCDs or DVDs. What's the easiest way to do that? Given that VHS are of lower quality, I probably want VCD anyway.
    Equipments I have:
    - PowerBook 12 inch (DVI, 1.33 GHz)
    - VCR
    - bunch of video cable laying around.
    Thanks!
    ERic

You are going to need some kind of analog video to DV converter.
Do you have a DV camcorder? If so, you may be able to pass the analog video through it directly to the PowerBook with a FireWire cable and use iMovie to record your tapes. If you have Roxio Toast, you could then easily make some VCDs of your iMovies.
Another option would be a device like an Elgato EyeTV. Not only could you use it like a TV tuner/TiVo, it can convert your analog video to MPEG files and then, again if you have Toast, you can export your recordings to VCDs.
There are other kinds of analog to DV converters, someone else may chime in too.

  • What's the easiest way to retrieve lost music files?

I was using a file sharing program and I saw that all of my music files were being shown in its share folder, and I did not want to share them. I assumed the files were duplicates and deleted them. When I realized the actual files were being deleted I stopped it, but not before several hundred files were lost. Here is the error message I get when I plug in my iPhone.
    http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w91/Candyman_8877/Untitled1.png
It says there is a hundred files missing, but when I count the "!" marks in iTunes, I got to 100 by the letter C, so there is definitely several hundred files missing. I have my machine backed up with time machine, and I also have a faily recent copy of my music folder on an external drive.
I'm wondering, what is the easiest way (using the fewest clicks) to restore all of my missing music files? I'm trying to avoid searching out and restoring every missing file individually, as there are hundreds and this would be very time consuming.
Thanks for any help and advice,
    mcfada

If you are confident the Time Machine backup is current, recover your iTunes folder and all its contents from there.

  • What's the easiest way to validate the 2nd date is after the 1st date?

    Hi,
    I have 2 items, say, date1 and date2.
What is the easiest way to validate that the date2 is after date1? For example, date1 is "07/31/2009", thus date2 must be after "07/31/2009".
    Thanks much :)
    Helen

    Helen:
For the example provided you can create a validation of type 'PL/SQL->pl/sql expression' and provide the expression below
    to_date(:p_date2,'mm/dd/yyyy') > to_date(:p_date1,'mm/dd/yyyy');

  • My old computer crashed and I lost my old library of recorded CD's and new music.  I downloaded iTunes again and found my old account info.  How do I add a new CD without deleting all of my music on my iPod?

My old Computer crashed and I lost my old library of recorded CD's and tunes.  iTunes says I must delete everything off my iPod in order to add a new CD.  It also said I already have an account which I was able to locate.  I don't know how to get into my old account.  I think that would solve everything.  I have Windows XP.  I'd appreciate any input.

  • I lost my music when my old computer crashed and did itunes on my new computer and can get it back

i lost my music when my old computer crashed and when i got my new computer it erased all my music from itunes and my iphone 4... Please help!!!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab.  Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos.  Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.

  • I have a mid year 2007 24 inch iMac and will be purchasing a new 27 inch Retina iMac, what is the easiest way to transfer the data and files from my old machine to the new one?

I have a mid year 2007 24 inch iMac and will be purchasing a new 27 inch Retina iMac, what is the easiest way to transfer the data and files from my old machine to the new one?

    Following up on this thread,
I have a new iMac on the way and my current is from 2008, never had a problem but I am sure there are internal issues that I would prefer not to transfer.
I have no issues other then the slowness in certain programs and that is the main reason to buy a new one.
Programs like numbers and pages seem to take a longer time to open after I update to Yosemite.
I only use 272GB of 500 GB, my memory is 4GB and I am upgrading to 8Gb and bought the 4.0 processor.
    Question:
Is there a way to manually transfer items or would that be a waste of time in that if there are issues they could be anywhere and would transfer anyway?

  • HT1329 I just downloaded iTunes to a new computer.  It's been a while since I used iTunes on my old computer.  I don't see any of my playlists on the new computer.  What is the easiest way to transfer my playlists without having to recreate each one?

I just downloaded iTunes to a new computer.  It's been a while since I used iTunes on my old computer, so the new one has a totally different user interface.  I signed on to my account and saw my music but I have no playlists on the new computer.  What's the easiest way to replicate or restore my playlists as I had them in the old computer and in my iPod?

OK, thanks for the response.  I'm copying it onto a memory stick to transfer it to the new computer.  Still have two questions:
    1. Since there is already an iTunes folder on the new computer, created when iTunes was downloaded, where exactly do I copy the old folder onto the computer so that iTunes can find it?  In the old interface, there used to be a field where one could designate the path to find music and I don't see that in the new interface.
Assuming the above takes care of putting my playlists onto the new computer...
    2.  How do I add music that is currently stored in a back up file but was not on my old computer's drive?  I'm worried that I would have to add these one by one somehow, and there are a lot of songs.
    Thanks again.
