My old computer crashed.I have a 2006 Ipod which has over1500 songs installed.

I would like to restore my itunes account with the songs on it which I have not been able to do for years.  I was told it would be better to have just one account  I want to purchase the iphone, then put everything in one itunes account so all my songs can be put on my phone.  Please help.  I am not computer savvy.  There must be something I can do.  Thank you.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to do this. not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

  • My old computer crashed, I have Itunes on a WD passport drive. How do I put Itune on my new computer?

My old computer crashed, I have itunes backedup on a WD passport drive. I found a music folder on that drive and move it to my desktop on a new computer runing windows 8. I downloaded Itunes software to the new computer. How do I put the the folder with my itunes music into Itunes?

Restore the songs from a backup, or use these instructions to redownload them through the iCloud if doing so is free in your country.

  • My old computer crashed, i have a new computer, is there anyway to transfer the itunes library from my iphone to my new computer?

Help! My old computer crashed, and I have a bunch of music that I don't have on cd any longer, is there anyway to move the library I have on my iPhone now to my new computer I just bought?

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music and contents, you may have to use a third party software to copy over. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

  • My old computer crashed,i have a new computer

my old computer crashed and i lost everything. all my music & apps are on my phone. how do i tranfer them to my new computer & itunes?

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The exception is itunes purchases.  Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your backup copy of your computer.

  • My old computer crashed, new laptop, syncing my ipod so that it doesn't delete all my songs from my ipod?

My old computer recently crashed, and so i've bought this windows laptop (which i'm using now).
I have an iPod classic (latest model) and am fearful that if I retrieve my account on my new laptop, it'll delete all the information, 1,3000 songs and multiple videos from my iTunes, leaving my iPod with barely nothing. If this happens, i'll probably end of selling it, becuase this was not my fault, i love my music and i've not the time to replenish my library with that many songs, which has taken me a year to compile.
Can anyone help me, if so I would much appreciate it?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.

    VanKleek,
These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists, ratings, playcounts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
Don King Resurrected: Deleted files from hard drive (free user steps – music recovery only)
MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
XPlay (Software For Cross-Platform Functionality & Music Recovery)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation.
You need at least three sets of your music:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes
-- One full set on an external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and the computer is not considered having any backup. If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer, then create and maintain two external sets.
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl).
Here is a post on developing a backup strategy: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=210939&messageID=1215125

  • Old computer crash..how do I upload without losing my songs?

My old computer has crashed and I have been told I will lose my songs when I try to upload...is this true?..or can I go ahead on my new computer...
    thanks

Not very helpful, and also not at all true. You really should research and validate your answers before posting them, not that "Gee, I think there's something, but I don't know what it is..." is any kind of an answer to begin with.
You have two choices, and two choices only, when connecting your iPod Shuffle to any new iTunes Library. You can either
    A. Load from and use that Library, and lose your current contents, or
    B. Ignore that Library and leave your iPS intact.

  • My old computer crashed and I lost my Ipod, how do I download the music to a new on?

So about 2 years ago I got the Ipod touch, and a while after my computer crashed.  I never put the music onto a new computer, because the Ipod allowed me to download music there and then. But now I have lost my Ipod-touch and have a buch of songs still on my account. So I was wondering if there is a way to recover my songs, and put them on a new computer(PC), without having to restart.

    No.
All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
When music was purchased on a CD, if the CD was lost and you returned to the store where the CD was purchased with your receipt, were you given a replacement CD?
    The same applies here.

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab.  Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos.  Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window.
