My old iPad icloud account has an old account name that I no longer subscribe to and will not let me access it. I need to in order to transfer my info to my new iPad. It won't let me change the account name to access the icloud.

I am updating my iPad from first generation to fifth. I can access my app store info with no problem, but I cannot access iCloud. It has an account name that is greyed out and it's an account name of a service we no longer subscribe to. I keep getting a window that says user name or password is wrong, but it only gives me an option to enter a password that doesn't match up with that old account name. I need to transfer to the new ipad, but how do I get cloud access?

You need to reset the password for the "old" account, and then use that to turn off iCloud. Then you will be able to sign in with your new ID.
You can reset your password at iForgot.apple.com.
If you don't know the answers to the security questions, you will need to start there.

Do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the "Browsing History".

HT4623 My iPad 2 says it's IOS is up to date with 5.1.1 and will not show the option to be updated to IOS 6 or 7. How do I force an update?

Suport recommended Backing up the IPad and then erasing it. Support article said that the Restore would update the IPad to the latest software which in this case is IOS 7. That did not happen. After an hour, the Ipad ended up with IOS 5.1.1 again. How can I update the software to 6.0 minumum?

Do you have a computer with iTunes 11.1.x on it? If so try upgrading using that instead of over the air to the iPad directly. Here's the instructions describing how to do it:

Hi all. I have just downloaded Mverick on to my computer. I also then installed a couple of updates.
I then tried to open iPhoto to be told that I could not open the version on my machine. I then went back to the Apple updates and found one updating I photo.
So I click update and am looking at a box with an apple ID I havent used for three years and there is no way I was able to change it. Strangley when logging on to this support community site I was able to enter my current username and password thus enabling me to ask for advice. I am not a great compter expert and have somewhat defective eyesight which accounts for the mistype in community name.
Any advice gratefully received.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
There are a couple of places where the Apple ID is used, so the first thing I would suggest is to go to the appleid.apple.com website and make sure everything is up to date there. Then, sign out of your iTunes Store Account and sign back in with the correct Apple ID and password. Finally, look at the settings for your Computer Administrator account and make sure that is correct as well. I'm including a few articles for you that explain this information in more detail.

you need to install iTunes 10.
in order to install iTunes 10, you need to upgrade your Mac to OS X 10.5.

It sounds like you are not getting the email to reset your password. If you have a rescue email setup for your Apple ID, the reset password email will be sent there and not your Apple ID email address:
When you provide a rescue email address, all future security emails, such as password resets from iForgot, will be sent to the address provided.

Try to change your Apple ID back to your old email address (http://appleid.apple.com) in order to set up and activate the phone. After the set up please sign out of iCloud and turn off "Find My iPhone" (Settings > iCloud) - do that on all your devices -, then change your Apple ID to your new address again and then add your iCloud account on you devices again.

Ok, I have changed the names of my iPads to each be different- but no matter what I do, the Apple ID comes up the old email address on the old iPad and will not let me update Apps, purchase , etc,

I have used your info to give my two iPads different names. My problem is that my old iPad still has the old email in the Apple ID pop up so it will not let me sign in. I checked my info in the manage my account page and there is my email as primary, which allows me to sign in for apps, etc on the newiPad air, but when I try to update or buy an App on the old iPad, the old email is in the pop up and will not let me sign in.
How do I change the email in the old iPad to match the new iPad????

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you created a new account or updated your existing account ? All content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, so if you have created a new account then all of your existing downloads will remain tied to your old account.
If you've updated your existing account then try tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and log out of it and then log back in with the updated id so as to 'refresh' the account on it.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.1 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:
