My online number isn't working

I cannot recieve calls from my online number. It stopped working about two weeks ago. I have tried everyting, changing the preference settings. waiting five minutes. uninstalling and reinstalling the software.
To be honest I really frustrated now that a service I am paying for isn't working and there is no proper support service in place.
I have marketed this number and sent it widely -- people are trying to get in touch with me and I am not able to take their calls.

I just checked your account and our system denoted several succesful callts to your Online Number lately that were all ended ordinary by hangup on the telephone side.
What are the symptoms you see that make you think it's not working any more?

Our online number is not working when trying to call from Telia mobile phones in denmark. I have checked with Telia in Denmark and they tell us that the problem is a "prefix" that is set wrong from SKYPE's side?
Could someone at skype please help get this fixed, as some of our customers can not call us.

Are you getting any error message or other data that helps to understand why the SR # is not working? Sometimes when entering a serial number a letter or number is entered incorrectly because a 1 looks like an l or an s looks like a 5. Make certain that this type of an entry error is not your problem.

Online Number isn't showing up on people's caller ...

Is there any way to fix this? My online number works because I recently paid for it and it expires May 20.
I know the number works because when I call myself, it rings but displays the "unkown number" problem.

Hi, My Online Number Caller ID shows up when the call is received on a mobile phone, but not on a BT landline (in the UK). My Online Number area code is Cambridge (01223) - is it possible Caller ID would work with BT if the Online Number area code was a different area, like London (020)?

Please escalate this issue. In the UK, BT has 15.8 million landline customers. Sype Online Number in the UK is useless for business until Caller ID works.

Online number still not working

I have an online number, but it doesnt work. (engaged noise when rung)
1st - i did all the things listed in the 'help' section regarding this problem-
didnt work
2nd - went on live chat and he told me to do the same thing and some other stuff.
Still didnt work, so he referred my case to main office and said someone would be in touch to fix it. This was last week and i still havent heard anything!
I need to use this number ASAP! Can someone please fix it?

I was receiving the skype emails giving updates on the issue about the Online numbers in Brazil.
Then, I got an email on June 30 saying that we could try to keep the same number, but skype was opening a new line and my subscription would be transfered to that number. And also, I would be getting 2 additional months free for the inconvenience... The email was very confusing and there were no clear instructions on how to proceed. It is copied below:

Well, what happened was that I got a new number and both (the old and the new) have been showing as active in my account. My subscription (recently renewed for 1 year) is linked to my old number, that does not work (always busy).
The new number, opened on the day that I have received the email above, has worked fine ever since, but is going to expire in 10 days and there is no indication that my subscription will be transfered from the old (not working) number to the new number (good one) when it expires...
I will not buy an extension for the new number since I've already gotten it for the old one... I just need my subscription linked to a number that actually works, which ever number it is...
Oh, and I tried changing the privacy settings to allow receiving calls from anyone... Didn't work !

My online number which I have had for 2 1/2 years for my business is now not working...Earlier today, when the number was dialed, my clients recieved a recording that said the number had been changed, and then the call disconnected...Now, when you dial the number, it rings busy...I have tried changing the privacy settings to contacts only and then back again and logging out and back in again...same problem...Looking for ANY assistance...Please help!

I have exactly the same problem. The support consists of typing in a question and getting a reply from completely incompetent agents. They get impatient if you don't know what to do if they ask you to re-program your computer. One person on this person says try GOOGLE VOICE instead of SKYPE I am going to find out about it today and let you know what its about. It can't be worse than the service offered BY THIS GROUP OF INCOMPETENT COWBOYS THAT TRY TO RUN SKYPE.......

My Skype Online Number is not working

Bought a skype online number in UK last week, it works fine for two days then that's it, now it is telling callers " the person you are trying to reach is not available leave a message after the tone". Is this some kind of fraud or what. I tried calling the number while I am sitting in front of the PC sign on, still no show. I am highly disappointed, because the purpose of the number has been defeated. Skype is a bloody joke. May be I should just stick with the free services.

In short, "yes it is some kind of fraud". If you paid with a credit card I suggest you file a dispute with the credit card company to get a refund, because trying to get a refund issued by Skype personnel for a service you paid for that they fail to provide is like pulling teeth. Since the only people you can actually contact are tech support folks in the Philippines who have no access to any of Skype's servers or cash flow, it's actually like trying to pull teeth from someone who doesn't even have any teeth.

Does anyone know how to complain to Skype? I paid $30 for a Skype number, which has never worked. Everytime people call me they are directed to a voice mail. And it's not because my Skype is not turned on. It is!! Just to make sure that the problem was not at the end of my callers, I did a little experiement and called my Skype number (after turning on the iphone skype app), but got the same result as others -- a voice mail recording. It is very frustrating because there is no recourse. Skype is taking us for a ride. It's a scam.

Online number has never worked

I have just had a reminder that my online number is about to expire, but it has never worked. When I dial it, it connects for a nano-second, and then immediately I get the disconnected beeps.
I wondered if it was my phone supplie preventing the number being used? (They don't weant me to circumnavigate their service?).

First check your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''.Then change them to "Allow SkypeIn calls from Only people from my Contacts List".Save and wait for 5 minutes.Log out from your Skype account and log back in. I have a Chilean online number, for my family back in Chile to reach me easily. I've had that number for over a year now, and my current subscription is supposed to work until March, 2012.
However, when my family tries to reach me, they get a message in spanish, stating the phone number has been deactivated.

I have just purchased an online number and voicemail. I cannot receive any communications - no receipt of phone calls, no receipt of SMS messages, no voicemail. I can place calls though. I have tried using the Android and Linux applications.

Your Online Number is active, but if you are not able to receive calls when you are online then customer service will need to investigate this.

You didn't mention which country your Online Number was from. Not all of Skype's Online Numbers can be used for Caller ID. If it is from a country where its use as Caller ID is permitted (Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Hong Kong, Poland, Sweden, the UK and the US), you can set that up here on the Skype web site. Click on the Account link at the top of this page, then log in with your Skype account name and password. Once you get in, you should see Caller ID Settings along with a link to change that.
Even if you have your Caller ID number properly set in your Skype account, there are instances where that number won't show up on the phones you call. This is usually related to how the calls are patched into the telephone network, and would be beyond the control of Skype.
