I updated my system today and my outlook for mac will not open it just flashes as if it is opening and then does not start?
Any help please

I meant holding the "option" (or "alt") key on your keyboard as you click the Outlook icon on the Dock, and continuing to hold it until you see the Microsoft Database Utility come up. Alternatively, you can open the utility by navigating to Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Office and then double-clicking the Microsoft Database Utility app.
When you rebuild your database using that program, a backup copy of your original database (containing your account info, contacts, mail, calendars, etc) will be created. As a security precaution, you should also ensure you have a backup of your database (which you can find by going to Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/ and copying the contents of that folder onto an external drive). -

I have been using outlook for a months but today I get the message file cannot be opened. I have created another profile to get me by but need to return to my original outlook
Are you saying Outlook works well after recreating a new profile? If this is the case, the only thing that you need to take care is get your original data back.
For how to restore your Outlook data:
If your account is an Exchange account, or IMAP account that have kept everything on the server, all your items on the server will be available again after you configure Outlook.
If it’s a POP3 account, your e-mail messages are downloaded and stored locally in a Personal Folders file (.pst). You can make a backup copy of that .pst file, and then import the file into outlook again. For How to manage .pst files in Microsoft

Outlook will not open, stays minimized
Outlook 2010 on win 764 system starts to load then minimizes itself in the task bar not allowing me to open . I treid dis all add ins , clean boot , dis anti virus and still nogo . Any help ? Im sure im not the first with this issue.

The issue might be caused by the Outlook window being closed while it’s minimized.
You can try the following steps:
1. Close all the Outlook instances.
2. Right-click shortcut which you use to open Outlook
3. Right-click on "Microsoft Outlook 2010" and choose "Properties"
4. Under tab called "Shortcut", change window size to "Maximized" beside “Run”.
5. Start Outlook again.

Microsoft Outlook 2003 will not open after downloadin​g BlackBerry Desktop
I just upgraded from a BB 8303e to the BB Tour 9630. When I downloaded BB Desktop manager to my computer the program required that I must download Microsoft.net Framework 2.0 SP1, I did that, and was able to bring over all current contacts and calendar. Once that was completed, I tried opening my Outlook, but received an error message stating that Outlook incurred an error. I have tried everything possible to correct but Outlook will not open. I reset my computer under system restore to a previous date which removed BB Desktop manager as well as the microsoft.net Framework 2.0 SP1, than Outlook would open as normal. So again downloaded BB Desktop manager and the required microsoft.net Framework 2.0 SP1 and again error messages came once again after I tried to open Outlook, so again I did system restore to a previous date so I could use Outlook.
Has anyone had this same problem, can anyone help me resolve this issue so I can use Outlook and BB Desktop manager?

If you used MacKeeper to encrypt any files or folders, use MacKeeper to un-encrypt them first.
Quit the MacKeeper app if it is running.
Open your Applications folder: Using the Finder's Go menu, select Applications.
Drag the MacKeeper icon from your Applications folder (not the Dock) to the Trash.
You will be asked to authenticate (twice):
You do not need to provide a reason for uninstalling it:
Just click the Uninstall MacKeeper button. You will be asked to authenticate again.
After it uninstalls you may empty the Trash and restart your Mac. All that will remain is an inert log file that does nothing but occupy space on your hard disk. -

First thing I would do is check [[How to make Firefox the default browser|to see if Firefox is your default browser]]. You could also go to ''Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs Tab'' on your computer and make Firefox the default web browser that way.

Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 will not open MS Outlook 2010
I have recently updated my OS to Windows 7. Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 will not open MS Outlook 2010 with the preformatted email message after submitting via the Email Invitations button. MS Internet Explorer 8.0 goes to a blank page. Is there a compatibility issue with Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5, MS Outlook 2010, and/or Windows 7?

You were running a non-Intel version on an Intel Mac. You might not have run into problems before but it was only a matter of time. You cannot run an old version and then install brand new versions of ProKit and QuickTime - it will just break.
So you can either reinstall everything from scratch and then just keep it as it is without ever installing software updates, or you can upgrade to FCP 7. I recommend the latter. -
I have just upgraded to Firefox 3.6.12 and links clicked in an external source will not open in Firefox.
Firefox is set as my default program for web browsing. I have tried to open links from Outlook, Dreamweaver, Digsby, and other programs.I have the same issue, opening links from external programs like Word or Thunderbird does not work. This used to work before the update to 3.6.12

I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. I've had issues with a problem in outlook where file was being generated in my PST folders everytime I opened outlook. I read where I should disable Norton Anti-Spam and it worked to allow me to delete the
folders and not get any new ones. I thought I should try uninstalling MS Office and reloading it. I used the Control Panel to remove the program but it only partially removed Office and stopped. I then used FixIt and removed more of Office and got most of
it but it stopped at the end too. I could not totally remove whatever remained of office but it looked like it was all gone. I also have Visio 2010 and Project 2010 and did not attempt removing those yet. When I tried to re-install office I got an error about
legacy groove SW that needed to be removed first. I couldn't find a way to do it. I then read I could do a custom install and install everything in office except SharePoint Workspace. I did that and it seemed to work. Everything worked except Outlook.
So then I added features to the suite by custom install of SharePoint Workspace only. All seemed to work. But Outlook still will not open. I get an error that states: Cannot open your default email folders. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable
to load the information service mspst.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. What should I do?Hi,

Outlook (MS Office 2011) will not open
Outlook (MS Office 2011) will not open. It begins to open with the opening window appearing and then just shuts down. I am running Mac OS X Version 10.7.5.

In the last couple of days when I start Firefox it will not properly load the Google home page I set up. It will not load the calendar or Date and Time. When I try to open gmail it will not open. I use Internet mail using outlook lite and it does not open properly formatted. All of these problems did not exist until two days ago. I have even gone back and did a system restore 8 days ago to see if that would correct the problem.

Conversations From Outlook 2013 in Native IOS7 IPhone 5S Will Not Open
I am using Outlook 2013 on my Windows 7 Laptop as my mail client. I have my work account attached as an account. I use the Conversation feature from within Outlook 2013. When I try to open those emails on my phone they will not open. They are denoted with a >>
The emails that are single threaded show up as > on the right side next to the time and I am able to open up and read those emails.
Is there some setting I am missing. I just switched to Iphone from using Android since its inception. I'm IT Savvy but Iphone dumb. Please help as it is annoying that I cannot open up those conversations/email on my phone.
Even sliding the mail and clicking on "more" does not do anything

g.godarHi, Thank you so much for the info.... I really do appreciate it. We had the laptop updated by way of a system upgrade with RAM and an additional SSD drive. Once reconfigured all programs were reinstalled but Iphoto is not among them. Iphoto was on the laptop when purchased so we have no additional discs. Before the laptop was updated we backed the photos up to an extrenal hard drive so we have them, but cant access them. Could I purchase Iphoto 8 stll? Would this work? We would also require an external CD drive as we no longer have the disc drive in the laptop (I think the extra new bits took over). You may have noticed I have very limited knowledge on computers so any help dispite how simple it may sound to some would help me greatly. I just want all my photos back .... Thanks inadvance...
