My Pages file is 731mg It contains 5999 words, and five slideshows. iWorks gives 1GB of space which I have available to use. My file will not upload to iWorks with the message: 'Not enough space.' Why?

If your file is 731 mBytes on HD it may be highly larger when it is expanded.
Yesterdays I built a doc for my grandson with 12 pictures.
On disk, the file is using 901 Kbytes.
When I open it, the Ram used by Pages jump from 84 Mbytes to 104 Mbytes which means that the used Ram is about 20 times the file size.
I made the same test with a document containing only text. It's 2.7 Mbytes on disk and use 20Mbytes in Ram too.
So, what is surprising isn't that you are unable to open it, it's how you created it. I assume that you were using an other machine.

Pages 5 is in a new format that is not compatible with GMail, Google, Amazon, DropBox and other 3rd party servers.

Pages, numbers, iPhoto, iMovie and keynote will not update after installing yosemite and yes I have the original disk

How do I get pages, numbers, keynote, iPhoto and iMovie to update after installing OS X 10.10? I have the original disk.

Cancel the updates. Delete the apps. Redownload them from the Purchases tab in the App Store.

I downloaded new itunes,now my itunes file is gone and itunes will not open,it tells me to reinstal i have done this 10 times and still cannot open itunes! then when i try to repair it it says "A installation package cannot be found!? help!

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
Do not forget to re-enable the scanning in your anti-virus software after you are finished with downloading and installing.

I have tried replacing the Firefox start-up page with my own home page choice many times and it will not set--I get the circle with the slash through it when I try to drag the webpage icon to "home."

I am using Windows 7 Professional, and have tried all of the recommended troubleshooting tips for this problem. I do not have the new version of Firefox installed because it had all kinds of problems so I went back to the version I had--I believe it was 3.6.24. Since then, I have not been able to set a home page. Any help out there? Thank You!

Try to drag the tab or the website's favicon on the Home button if you currently drag selected text.
If it doesn't work with dragging the icon then copy the URL to the clipboard and paste it via the Options window in the home page field.

Batch convert Pages files to Doc and stay in the same folder?

I use iWork '09 on Mountain Lion. I recently switched to Microsoft Word and prefer it over Pages (personal preference). However, I have nearly 1000 files on my computer that are in Pages format. I have extensively searched this issue in the Apple Support Communities and it appears that there are scripts that DO EXIST that batch convert Pages files into Word files. However, it appears that many of these scripts were built for older versions of iWork and therefore I run into various errors. For example, I used the script available at http://pagesfaq.blogspot.com/2008/01/export-folder-to-word-rtf-pdf-txt-or.html and click run but nothing actually happens (the script runs for less than a second, then I can click run again). I was able to use one script successfully (pasted below), but the only reason I can't use it is because it saves ALL my converted documents in one folder on my desktop and I would like a script that can save them in the original file were the Pages document is located.
So, is there an iWork '09 compatible script that can convert my Pages documents to Word documents and save them in the same folder as the original? Oh, and for an added bonus, it'd be cool if the script also deleted my Pages version after it was done with the conversion

I can't open pages files from USB and iCloud due to : "The necessary file index.xml is missing".

I can't open pages files from USB and iCloud due to : "The necessary file index.xml is missing". Original file is written on iMac (2014) and saved to an USB stick and then transferred till macBook Pro (2009, Yosemite) for editing. Then I shared the files by iCloud but I am not able to open them on iMac again. Niether can I use the USB stick to transfer the edited files back. I'm running Pages '09 4,1 (923) on the macBook and Pges 5.5.2 (2120) on the iMac.

Pages 5.5.2 is extremely incompatible with even other Macs let alone the vast majority of PC and MsWord users out there, so not a good idea to leap into the fire with both eyes shut.
After having done that to the first Pages 5 files, Apple has repeatedly done it to even the most minor point updates. Apple can't even anticipate its own erratic changes let alone what everyone else needs doing.

If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

I have acrobat standard and it will not allow me to edit.. every file i go to open it says "there is a active file open and must close in acrobat" other times it says account cannot be validated after I have already paid for it.. please advise

The account cannot be validated error was due to a glitch on our activation server that has been fixed now.
Please try using acrobat now and check if you are still facing the problem.

I have a ipad 1. I seem to be having a lot of connectivity issues. It takes a long time to load and sometimes will not load a page at all. I seem to be having issues with streaming in that it will play a song and just stop.

I have a folder and 3 files stuck on my desktop. When I drag them to the trash I am asked to enter my administrator's password. I do this but the files and folder will not delete. I have checked 'Get Info' on each of them and they are not locked?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
ls -@Oaen De* | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Post the contents of that window, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that.
If any personal information appears in the output, anonymize before posting, but don’t remove the context.

My Pages file is 731mg and it will not upload to iWorks. iWorks gives 1GB of space. Why does it not upload?
