  • My palm m105's touch screen doesn't work properly after a sync.

    I dug out my old m105, put new batteries in and start it. On first launch it auto runs the alignment tool, and after touching all the points it goes to the main screen and works fine. No problem till here.
    Now, I plug it into my old computer which still has the palm software with my apps, and I run the sync operation (from the palm device sync manager, cause I lost my cradle and I'm connected via the serial cable), and it syncs fine BUT, here comes the problem, when it finishes the sync (successfully) the touch screen is all misaligned. I can't go back to the home screen or do anything useful.

    Let's help solve this mystery together! Is your screen freezing after every reboot? Is there any physical/liquid damage on the device? When did this issue begin? Did you notice this after a recent update or application download?

  • Micro DataPad Mini Keyboard for Palm m105 Series

    I have the Micro DataPad Mini Keyboard and I need to install drivers.  I can't seem to find anything on the palm website.  Can anyone help me please?  I know the palm is outdated but I can't afford a new one right now and I need it to help me keep my son's doctor appointments organized.

    Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
    That is not a Palm product, so you wouldn't find the drivers here, even if it was not an older device.
    Your best bet is to either try to find a disc from a third-party seller (using Google perhaps), or inquire with the developer whom I believe is Micro Innovations.
    Good luck.

  • Have new computer with new Windows 7, Palm m105, and 4.1.4 palm desktop, trying to get it to synch correctly.

    With new computer I have had to add a USB serial converter to the hot synch cradle. I spent most of the day trying to get the new serial converter to be recognized so that a synch could be performed. It now will synch when I put the palm in the cradle. After installing 4.1.4, In order to get everything to work, I took a recent historicalbackup version of my palmOne program file folder in the Program files, and replaced the entire folder with my historical version. When I opened the desktop software, all my data appears to be there, except that many of my previous entries in the Calendar are now three hours earlier than they used to be and some are moved to an adjacent day. My palm still has the correct information, but a custom synch to overwrite the desktop data with the handheld data produces no change, even though it went through a long synching process. I also have an older computer that has a complete backup copy of everything and the palm software in that one is working properly, so what should I do to correct the data in my Calendar on my new laptop?

    It looks like you will need to "clean" uninstall Palm desktop and re-install.
    Here are the clean uninstall instructions for XP, see if the palm folders are in the same location. We have not received any info. on windows 7 and how Palm desktop syncs with this version.
    You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
    happens. You can find your data files by going to C:\Program Files\Palm or
    Palm One. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and copy.
    Then go to your PC desktop, right click on a blank spot and select paste.
    If this is the first time you are installing Palm desktop and encountering a problem, skip the previous step.
    For Palm desktop 6.2, look in the following location for the folders and files, my documents, PalmOS desktop. You will find the username folder in this location.
    Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
    with Palm Desktop from your computer. Like the above folder, delete the Palm folder. Once this is done, you will need to delete some registry keys
    from your PC Operating System registry.
    Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
    to not start up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
    you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
    PC technician that you can pay to help you. This will show them everything
    they need to delete. To retain your current Registry settings, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
    On the PC, go to start and run type "regedit" without quotes
    Highlight MY COMPUTER, go to File --> export. Should pop up with a Save As
    box. Current location is fine should be in My Documents or you can change to a location you will remember. In the file name box, type "Regbackup[todaysdate]" i.e. Regbackup07072008. Next, the hard part.
    The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are
    you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
    If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
    BUT do not turn off your computer.
    The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of theses reg keys will not be here
    but if they are delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
    Next reboot your computer
    Then reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
    you for a username, enter the name that is on your device in the upper right corner of the hotsync screen and sync.

  • My palm m105 will not sync, but my wifes will

    My palm was synchronizing well until a few days ago. It seems to be failing to recognize my user name. I have tried a soft reset, hard reset, batteries left out to clear memory, new username, all to no avail. I have the program on both a desktop and laptop. Neither works. HOWEVER, my wife's m105 syncs on both of them.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello oldjoeclark, Welcome to the Palm Support Community!
    Check the condition of the gold fingers at the HotSync port on the m105.  Many times, HotSync errors can be traced to dirty contacts, damaged pins, etc.  You could try cleaning the pins with alcohol and a q-tip (pull the batteries when doing this!)
    Are you using the same HotSync cable as the functioning device?  Or is the cable possibly damaged that you are trying to use?

  • Palm M105 Communication code issue

    I have a Palm M105 that is used with Hub Manager for door security at a shelter. There was an issue and I had to reinstall Hub Manager and the Palm software. Now that everything is reinstalled the Palm is not recognizing the communication code when it is put into the door to make changes. The code was not changed in Hub Manager and the Palm will Hotsynch with the PC. I just can't get it to import and export data from the doors with out this code working. Can any one help?

    You may need to hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;
    XP
    C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Vista
    Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
    folder to backup.old
    Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,
    tasks, and memos will come back over.
    Show file extensions for XP or Vista
    XP
    If you can not view file extensions on your PC I would like you to open a
    folder go to Tools-->Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
    files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.
    Vista
    Open control Panel go to Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
    files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.
    After this procedure, reinstall the program and set it up again. See if this may correct the issue.

  • Seeking email reader for Palm m105

    Greetings everyone--
    This is my first post in this forum--I apologize if it's in the wrong place.
    I'm still happily using my m105, but now I have a modem for it and would like to read my email. I downloaded a trial version of MultiMail Pro 3, which works great, but I am unable to purchase it, since Actual Soft no longer exists. I was actually able to buy an earlier version of MultiMail, but that version does not allow SMTP auth, which I need.
    So my question: does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of MultiMail Pro 3, or alternately, software that does the same job works as MultiMail Pro 3 and won't overwhelm my m105?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
    I suggest downloading the 30-day trial version of SnapperMail to see if it works for you.  It says it is compatible with the m100 series handhelds, and they have different versions available from $25-60 depending on your needs.

    Hmm.  Sorry to hear it's giving you trouble.  I really don't know much (well, anything) about Vista except what I read here, and will try to avoid it for as long as humanly possible.
    But that doesn't help you.  The Hotsync Troubleshooting support article from Palm might be of some help.  It might have to do with getting a clean uninstall of the old Palm software from your Vista desktop.  There is also a USB Registry Utility which can tidy up FUBAR registry entries, but I believe that is only intended for XP or earlier versions of Windows.
    Also, what kind of PC connection does the Hotsync cable have...is it USB, or are you using a Serial-to-USB adapter?  That might be another contributing factor to the problem.

  • How does one submit feedback to Palm?

    I've searched without success, including company contact information, to find a way to give feedback to Palm about a needed feature improvement. Specifically, when one enters a new event on the calendar via the Treo 680 phone, it automatically defaults to an alarm activation. I would love to suggest to them to allow the user to change that default. But there's no user feedback e-mail address or phone number. Do these exist and I'm just not finding them? In desperation, I called the general company number and stayed on the line forever without answering. So, I called back, selected the company directory, and entered the name of the CEO. This got me, at least, to the voicemail of his executive assistant. If a company doesn't welcome customer feedback, they're losing one of their most valuable resources.

  • M105 and Win7 - add-on issues

    I have been running my old Palm m105 and my old computer with WinXP Hot Syncing as necessary.   My old computer finally gave out the same day I had a glitch in my m105. I thought I lost everything. I was able to find old data on my laptop with Win7. So far, I have everything working but I'm not able to get my add-ons working. I've followed directions in the handbook (adding the .prc files to the add-on directory, etc) but it's still not syncing to my m105. Any ideas?

  • DateField display on select is garbled - PalmOS

    When clicking on a DateField, the lower half of the Palm (emulator & PDA) screen is scrambled.
    Has anyone encountered this problem before?
    Is there a fix for this?

    Hello,
    I have the same problem and it seems to be a bug.
    For showing it I wrote a small piece of code:
    package testDateField;
    import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
    import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
    public class testDateFieldMIDlet extends MIDlet implements CommandListener {
    private Command exitCommand;
    private Display display;
    Form fTest;
    public testDateFieldMIDlet() {
    display = Display.getDisplay(this);
    exitCommand = new Command("Exit", Command.SCREEN, 2);
    public void startApp() {
    DateField d = new DateField("Date", DateField.DATE_TIME);
    fTest =new Form("TestDateField");
    fTest.addCommand(exitCommand);
    fTest.setCommandListener(this);
    fTest.append(d);
    display.setCurrent(fTest);
    public void pauseApp() {
    public void destroyApp(boolean unconditional) {
    public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable s) {
    if (c == exitCommand) {
    destroyApp(false);
    notifyDestroyed();
    Using this I try diferent settings of the Java HQ virtual machine at the Palm m105.
    Using 16 gray levels for display I get the same garbage on the screen like you.
    Using 4 gray levels it is better.
    If you set up your display for Black/White you have the clear screen that you need.
    Please give me some feedback if your Palm reacts the same.
    Best regards,
    Valeriu
