  • HP P7-1174 Pavilion Home Edition PC audio

    Greetings,
I thought I'd already posted this, but apparently not. I'm not familiar with this forum, so I apologize if I had.
I have a new Windows 7, HP P7-1174 Pavilion Home Edition PC. It comes with “Integrated IDT 92HD89E Audio, Built-in High Definition 7.1 channel audio, Audio codec: IDT 92HD89E “.
I’ve had a long relationship with a top-notch audio recorder/editor application, GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/). GoldWave has come out with a 64-bit Windows 7 application that has major audio problems on my PC. GoldWave insists the problem is with the IDT driver. I've been working with GoldWave for two weeks, but they can't replicate the problem - they're using a SoundMax driver for their testing because IDT bought SoundMax - no. seriously.
I got a reply from my support-request at IDT, and they said nothing was wrong with their IDT chip or software. They told me they use Adobe Audition audio editor for their testing, but I want to get some input from HP before I try that.
I installed a Spectrum Analyzer on my PC, and it displays the audio just fine and has normal level/volume control.
I don't know what to ask for in the way of support here. I can't believe that HP would come out with some esoteric audio system that won't meet the audio-editor market's requirements. I'm certain my P7-1174 will handle any audio recorder/editor I install on it. I have seen some comments about audio software requiring a sound card (which doesn't use the IDT chip or software), but I shouldn't have to do that just for GoldWave. I'd appreciate any experience, insight, or suggestions as to how I can approach getting a firm confirmation that the P7-1174 will work with any audio recorder/editor installed on it. What would be nice is a specification of what the P7-1174 audio system meets/expects.
    Thanks

  • My HP Pavilion dv2500 series computer (dv2845se). Computer won't come on -Case Manager contact me

I have a HP Pavilion dv2500 series laptop (dv2845se). Pushed power button to use and computer would not turn on at all under battery or ac power. I would like to speak to a case manager about this.

You cannot get to a Case Manager through this Forum. We are peer users (consumers) like you. That model series has known defects in the motherboard. Of course, it is now at least 4 years old and long out of warranty. HP will fix it for you but it will cost $300-400. There are many services on the internet and ebay that will do a good job repairing the faulty chip on the motherboard for around $100 or less. Personally, if it is possible financially I would get another laptop if I were you. Even with a repair the unit is inherently unreliable. You are lucky to have gotten as long a life out of it as you have.

  • HP Pavilion DV2500 won't turn on

I'm posting this out of desperation, hoping that someone out there can offer some advice. My wife's HP Pavilion DV2500 won't turn on. When I press the power button, the blue "power LED" comes on (as do the blue lights under the DVD controls and the "harddisk LED" flashes once... the computer fan whirrs into action, but then nothing happens. The screen is always black, nothing appears on the screen. I've tried removing the battery and holding the power button for 60 seconds. I've tried turning it on with the power cord and battery both in, just the power cord no battery, just the battery no power cord, etc. It doesn't make any difference - doesn't power on with any of those configurations. I've also tried unscrewing the panel on the bottom and removing one RAM chip, leaving the other in. Then putting it back and removing the other. Then removing them both. Again, it doesn't make any difference - doesn't power on with any of those configurations. (FYI, the blue light around the AC adapter does light up blue when the AC adapter is plugged in... so that's not the problem) Any tips? The computer is out of warranty, and I'm living in France. It's nearly three years old, so it's probably not worth the labor costs of taking it to a service center. I'm happy to open it up and try to fix it myself - unless it involves a soldering iron! Please... any advice much appreciated.... thank you!!

I hadn't used my my DV2500 for about a week. Last night I switched it on no problem downloaded and installed the MS updates ok.About 15 mins later the machine switched off with no warning, and it was connected to the mains, so no power issues.I started the machine up again which started loading Windows Vista Home Premium. during startup it switched off again.I started machine again and message stated Windows Start up repair recommended which I proceeded to do, another message appeared stating that Windows needed to be repaired, so I bit the bullet and decided to reinstal the o/s from the factory image. The machine loaded the Windows files and started to format error message appeared stating corrupt windows file and that I should load the recovery disc which I did. I rebooted the machine from the disc, started to format again and the machine switched off again. All that happens now when I switch on are the blue lights come on. I cannot access the bios or anything, it will not boot up from the disc, just pretty blue lights!I now have a machine that has no o/s pretty blue lights and a blank black screen. From reading the other posts it seems like a motherboard problem.Ideas anyone? p/n  KC453UA#ABA

  • Hp pavilion dv2500 laptop does not start -Pls help.

    Hi,
I have HP Pavilion dv2500 laptop which I bought from US(before 3 years) and using in India.
It has Windows Vista installed on it.
It has been very frequent that the laptop does not start. Today my laptop started after 10 days or so.
It does not give any error when I press the start button. There is no change in the screen as well.
The CPU light blinks. The power light also blinks. But the HARD DISK light does NOT blink.
If I keep on hitting Escape/F10 key then sometime it may start.
Before two months my battery was giving some problems and it used to finish very early. So I had to always plugin power chord to use laptop. Then I started getting above problem. However I bought new battery. But then also the laptop start problem exists.
I called one of the guy and he says that I need to replace the motherboard which could cost around 8000 / 9000 INR(160/180USD)
Is it hardware problem? I am not sure if it's some other problem.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Purvesh

    Try my hard reset method.
    1) Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    2) Press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
    3) Plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
    4) Press the power button
Please post your positive or negative results here in your thread.
    Best regards,

  • How to stop the spinning ball/pizza that is stalling repairs to project on imovie 09? on macosx10.5.8 using iomega and superspeed ext h.d. as storage for the events and projects archive of a wedding video that has had audio sync problems on all share form

How to stop the spinning ball/pizza that is stalling repairs to project on imovie 09? on macosx10.5.8 using iomega and superspeed ext h.d. as storage for the events and projects archive of a wedding video that has had audio sync problems on all share formats (iDVD, mp4, and last of all iTunes). The project label now carries signal with yellow triangled exclamation “i tunes out of date”.
To solve the sync problem I’m following advice and detaching sound from all of the 100 or so short clips.  This operation has been stalled by the spinning ball. Shut down restart has not helped.
The Project is mounted from Iomega and superspeed ext hd connected to imovie09 on macosx 10.5.8.
What to do to resume repairs to the audio sync problem and so successfully share for youtube upload?

  • After the recent upgrade to ios 8 ipad air has no audio coming out

    HI
After the recent upgrade to ios 8 ipad air has no audio coming out

I had the same problem until tonight. Played with ring tones, do not disturb, volume, and everything else posted. What I found is that when you go to sounds/text tone, there are two types of tones in the scrolling menu. The top set of tones are for alert tones and the bottom set are ringtones. They are separated by a gray bar that states their purpose. Many of the tones are the same name. You need to set your text alert in the Ringtones and reminders, alarms, and such in alerts. The weird thing about this menu is when you go to sounds/ringtone the menu is reversed. Mine works in locked mode or unlocked now. I have an Iphone 6 8.1.2. My problem started after my latest OS upgrade. Hope this helps.

  • .Mov files in CC : The File Has no Audio or Video Streams

I recently updated premier to CC , since i have issues iimporting any .mov files at all.
The specific ones Im trying for my current project are exports from AE , rendered lossless animation .mov , worked fine in CS6 , will play in quicktime and other generic's but always getting the The FIle Has no Audio or Video Streams message when trying to import into a project.
Quicktime is updated so I can't understand why the won't play, is this a CC bug ?
i go back to cs6 on my other comp they open fine...
Ive seen a few topics on this none with a resolution and most of those where from cam's, this is an export from AE, anyone able to help this is stopping me from working atm ......

I can verify that Apple screen recordings without audio do not import into any Adobe premeier.
Details on screen recording from Gspot v2.70a:
    H.264
    qt  : Apple QuickTime (.MOV/QT)
    File Type: QuickTime (.MOV)
    Mime Type: video/quicktime
    Len: 1:03.083
    Frms: 1,521
    Qf: 0.153
    Frames/s: 20.000
    wx: 1280 x 800
    sar: 1.600 (8:5)
However Apple (MAC OSX) screen recordings WITH audio will import.
I would think this should be fixable with hotfixes...
If you (adobe staff) have access to macbook pros 2012 or 2013 models, open quick time pro, do a screen recording, make sure no audio is recording, just your screen movements.. then export to 1080p video (mov is only option).. then on a windows PC try to import that file into adobe premiere. The file will play perfectly fine natively in windows with any player so long as a H264 decoder is available on that system... the problem here is Adobe Premiere. Not the users system.
    Edit:
To help those with this issue.. just make sure when you render your mov that you have ANY kind of audio in it.. and just remove the audio track once imported into premiere. I know it's frustrating and you would think something as simple as not having an audio track wouldn't break premiere but alas... we have to work around the shortcomings until they decide to fix it.. just like the VFR issue in premiere.

  • Quicktime Restarts Computer, Has NO Audio

Quicktime Restarts Computer, Has NO Audio
    Quicktime  7.7.2 Restarts Computer.
    Summary:
    1.     Change the setting so the Computer does NOT Restart on Error.
    2.     Update the Video Driver.
See article on how to change the setting so the computer will NOT Restart on Error:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/743448?start=0&tstart=0
    •     Changed the Setting so the Computer will NOT Restart on Error.
    •     Updated ATI Video Driver from the Internet ( Computer  >  Properties  > … > Device Manager, right Click on Video Driver and click Update Driver.
Now Quicktime did NOT Crash but still had NO Audio (See below).
    Quicktime  7.7.2 has NO Audio.
    Summary:
    1.     Install an older version of Quicktime (Ex. 7.6.5)
    •     I Updated the SoundBlaster Audigy Driver from the Internet (Still NO Audio when running Quicktime).
    •     Now that the Drivers were Updated, I Uninstalled and then re-installed Quicktime to see if it would make a difference  (Still NO Audio when running Quicktime).
    •     Trying something else - I installed an older Version of Quicktime ( I used 7.6.5).
Now Audio worked when using Quicktime.
    Computer Specs:
    •     AMD 3000+
    •     3GB RAM.
    •     Windows XP Service Pack 3.
    •     ATI Video Card.
    •     SoundBlaster Audigy Sound Card.
Extra Notes:  Even with my Windows 7 Computer - I only have 7.6.7 - it also works correctly - with audio.

Qualcomm Pure Voice is still an export option in version 7.3 (as it has been in every version).
It fails to play in 7.3 as others have noticed. I didn't catch it in my beta tests of this version and expect it to be fixed with an updated version.
I just tested exports using that codec and they do play the audio. Only a few Pure Voice audio tracks I have on my machine fail. All use 22.050 Hz at mono settings.
    A bug.

  • Movie Has No Audio

I'm new to the iPod scene, and am ripping a few movies from my DVDs to stick on my iPod. I've done 4 movies so far. 3 worked great, but 1 has no audio. It's the problem described here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302588
Except that the file in question isn't muxed, from what I can tell. I opened it in QuickTime and clicked "Show Movie Info" like the article says, and QT says the movie is MPEG4. It doesn't say "MPEG1 Muxed" or "MPEG2 Muxed."
I used DVD Decryptor to rip the DVD. After ripping, I can play the VOB file in Windows Media Player with no problems (after renaming it to .MPG). But after converting it with Videora, the audio is gone. I've tried both MP4 and H264. Same results.
    What the heck?

Am I better off just springing for QuickTime Pro? Can Pro convert the VOB files to an iPod-readable format?

  • IPhoto montage has an audio delay

I'm trying to assist a family member with a photo montage issue that has an audio problem. Here's her recap (her words, not mine) -
"I made the photo montage in iPhoto and then did the music in garage band. Then I loaded the iPhoto slide show into garage band and saved the whole thing. It plays great on my computer (MacBook Air) in iTunes, but when I put it on a CD or load it into drop box and it is played on a non Mac it delays the music by 14 seconds."
I downloaded the .M4V file and I too get the 14 second delay before the audio begins.
If it plays correctly on her Mac, why does it become a problem on other platforms (CD, dropbox). Can it be the conversion process to CD and upload to Drop Box that is causing the issue?
Can the problem be embedded in the file, and if so can I edit it to fix it? If so, how do I best do that?
I consider myself a tech geek and a Mac power user, but I'll admit that I'm not good witih video apps.
    Thoughts or suggestions?

That's not an iPhoto issue, is it?
It plays great on my computer (MacBook Air) in iTunes,
It seems to be related to the burning process, which is done in some other app.

  • Macbook 2008 sound to Home Theatre System which only has optical audio.

Trying to connect my macbook (2008) to panasonic home theatre system which only has optical audio. Tried using toslink optical audio cable with 3.5mm jack converter but still no sound, any ideas please? Thanks

If I understand what you are saying then yes you are correct. If you want the sound from your tv to come out of your home theatre amplifier run an optical caple from the TV out to one of the inputs on your receiver. Then select that source when you want to listen to the tv. In order to get 5.1 sound though the program source will have to be broadcast in dolby digital. Other wise it will most likely be dolby pro logig or stereo depending on how your receiver is set up.
It will probably also output sound for your blu ray player as well through the tv because hdmi carries audio to your tv. However the best possible sound will come from hooking the hdmi cable directly up to your receiver and selecting that source during dvd playback. Which is the way you have it if I understand correctly.
