Why does my payment method keep being denied?
I keep trying to load my Visa card as a payment method to purchase apps, and a message pops up saying it isn't supported. Anyone know why this is? I'm a military member currently serving in Germany, does the country have anything to do with it?

I have an iphone 4s and recently it has not let me update my apps eventhought the apps are free!! I dont know why, it says my payment method is being declined, i have a very low balance but its a free app and a free update so that shouldnt matter shud it?

HT1918 My payment method's being rejected by iTunes.
My iTunes no longer accepts my card as payment, I tried re-inputting the card details but it has repeatedly told me the payment method isn't valid. My account has money in it and the card works in shops, at cash points and on websites etc. Why has it suddenly stopped accepting my card out of nowhere and is there anyway of getting it working again please?
Make sure the information on your account is the same with your bank. I'd also suggest calling the bank and inquire if there are issues with your account. You can also contact support and have your account checked.

Is the namd and address on your credit card exactly the same as on your iTunes account ? I've created a new library on the same computer as my existing account and I've also created a new apple Id for my mum. But now I'm being told that I have to put in bank details because its new I don't want to enter them as I'm only ever going to use a voucher. But I cannot go any further until I enter them. What do you mean by 'refusing from the system', if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
For a credit card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is and if you are getting a 'declined' message then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If when trying to download you are getting a message about a 'problem with a previous purchase' then that implies that iTunes wasn't able to collect the money for your last purchase. If that is the case then you won't be able to download anything else (including app updates) until you've paid off what you owe : Pay an unpaid balance in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If you aren't getting the 'problem with a previous purchase' message then try logging into your account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card's details and be able to download updates to your apps : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support -

Unless you set up your itunes ID/account when it was created to not use a credit card, then you must provide one. If payment is declined it may be due to an invalid card or expired date. You'lll need to update your payment method.

then you will need to enter credit card details before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
If you don't have a credit card then you will need to create a new account, and follow those instructions. If you want to use the same email address then you will need to remove it from that account first e.g.by logging into it via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com - you should then be able to use it on a new account.

If you do not have one you will have to supply a bank card or redeem an iTunes Gift Card.
