My PC died at work... Getting a Mac. How do I sync?

My PC died at work that I normally sync to... I am getting a Mac. How do I sync my iPhone to it without losing all my pic, contacts, music, vids, calanders, etc?
I think iTunes will want to erase the phone!

Copy your old iTunes library to your new pc to get all the media content, set up at least one contact and one event on your new computer to merge the data from the iPhone with your new pc when you sync for the first time. Activate your computer in iTunes. Transfer your purchases from your phone to the new pc as well.

Hi, My desktop pc died recently. That was the computer that I used for my Itunes purchases. I have recently purchased a Macbook pro and tried to transfer info from the dead pc hard drive to my mac,how do I sync without losing apps?

When i try to sync my Iphone on my macbook pro I am told that I will lose any apps previously purchased while I was using a since crashed pc harddrive. I have authorized my macbook as a second computer but am not able to sync. Is there a way I can transfer my apps from my phone onto the macbook and then sync with my family members phones on the same account?

On the MacBook launch iTunes.
From the menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Now sync your iPhone.

I want to reset my Mac, and slowly reinstall everything back onto it. Before I reset i want to make sure how iCLoud will respond.
I use iCloud to sync contacts, calendars, reminders etc between my mac, iPad, and iPhone. In the process I don't want them to sync so I won't lose anything.
Is it a matter of turning iCloud off?

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are intending to reinstall OS X on your Mac, you can sign out of iCloud before doing so. This will turn off iCloud syncing and remove iCloud data from your Mac.
For more information, I recommend giving this article a read through:

After the reinstallation is complete, you can set up iCloud on the Mac again. This page has more information on setting up iCloud again:

Also, it's a good idea to back up your Mac with Time Machine if you're not already doing so:

Thanks for reply. Here's the rub; my ipad was originally synced to one PC which I no longer have access to. I have been just doing backups to a second PC. I have been able to get all of my music moved to macbook but I am afraid that when I try and sync the app's that I will lose them all and I really do not want to have to download and configure them all again! Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the Mac as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your Mac first.

The monitor will work if it has an HDMI, VGA ir DVI input. If it only has a VGA input you will need this adopter

The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as Jabber Name/ID. (Google Run Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another. (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.
