I'm finding that songs that I have imported to Itunes are suddenly showing with "Exclamation" marks and Itunes tells me that the original file cannot be found. When I tell it to locate the file, it can't do it.

It seems that somehow they are getting deleted, but not by me that I know of.
Can anyone help me?

Maybe you rename it. Somehow the path to the songs have changed if not deleted.
In Finder go to "Macintosh/Users/username/music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music" that's where all your songs located so if those songs are not there you get an exclamation mark. You can delete those entries in iTunes and re-import again.

I can't update firefox and it tells me that the softeware update failed.

I want to install the newest version of firefox but it wont let me. The message it keeps giving me is that:
Software Update Failed:
The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of firefox running on your computer, and then restart firefox to try again.
And I'm sure that there is no other copies running on my computer. I've try restarting it a lot of times before but the same message keeps appearing. When I try to uninstall it, it tells me to reboot the computer and then try to update it after the reboot is done. I tried to update after the reboot but the same message appeared again. And the cycle continues.

She was as frustrated as I and was going to kick the problem "upstairs." She felt that by now iCloud had been out long enough for them to have resolved the issues without having to resort to fixes from the outside (so in essence, I would have to say that she agrees with you that they should be able to provide a resolution for their own software).
I have more than just that issue on my MBP (iPhoto keeps asking me to "upgrade" everytime I open it, old Safari windows open when I restart or turn the machine on from a shutdown....I think it's possessed. I'm able to do everything that I want to do, but it's very annoying....) and so I'll be working with her again when she returns to work on Monday. I do have to say that she doesn't rush and has spent at a minimum 2 hours each night for the last 2 nights with me over the phone (talk about califlower ear!)

I have tried to update my iphone 4s to 8.1 and now it is in recovery mode. Now when I try to restore in hopes to get it back to normal, it extracts the software, re installs the device driver, and then tells me that the iphone cannot be found.

It has been doing this for hours now and I would just like to fix it.

Your fan(s) will run at high speed (i.e., loudly) while video is playing, and you can't get around that.
If your fans are not slowing down within 2-4 minutes after CPU- and/or GPU-intensive usage ends, and the application that was showing the video is still running, Quit that application. (In fact, if you're accustomed to Windows, you may not realize that simply closing a Mac application's window does not quit the application. You still need to use the Quit command in the application-name menu. There will always be a bright dot beside or below the application icon in your Dock for each application that is open.) Quit the ones you aren't using, and see whether that allows the fans to slow down without restarting the machine. If that doesn't do the trick, reset the SMC:

Try to reboot it. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple, about 20 seconds or so. It should reboot and work for you.
