MY PC IS WORKING VERY SLOWLY AND HANGING AGAIN AND AGAIN

HELLO
   MY NAME IS AKSHAY RAHAR & I HAVE A HP LAPTOP (PAVILION G6 WITH 500 GB HARD DISK , 2 GB RAM , 1 GB GRAPHIC CARD ). IT IS WORKING VERY SLOWLY AND HANG UP AGAIN AND AGAIN .. I REBOOTED IT 3 TIMES BUT I'M FACING SAME PROBLEM PLZ HELP ME ....

There are many reasons why a PC " behaves" this way.
These annoying " gliches" may be caused by an overloaded hard drive, overworked CPU, Malware, running 2 AV 's, unnecessary data, Browser addons or you may have unnecessary programs running in the background etc....
What follows is a series of generic troubleshooting steps that you may care to try...
Make sure all intake/exhausts vents are clean along with all fans.
Get some temp monitoring software. Download cpu-z and gpu-z (both
free) and keep an eye on the video temps
It could be a hard drive that is going bad or corrupted.
To check a hard drive see Check Disk...
In an administrators account type cmd in search.
In cmd type sfc /scannow.
This will report and fix minor problems.
Take note of what is said at the end.
Should your computer freeze, try to do the tests in safe mode.
Go to search, type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers.
Type event viewer, in search (by start button) > Windows Logs > Application
Look for RED critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the CURRENT problem.
Note the event ID, and the source codes and Google search them.
If overclocking, restore to original.
Try in
safe mode; report back if it works properly.
Clean boot.
You may discover what is causing your problem.

  • MacBook Air has a dark screen and works very slowly - what is happening?

    I have a MacBook Air since July '10, and until a few weeks ago, it seemed to be working fine.
    A couple of weeks ago I wanted to update iTunes and GarageBand, but since I couldn't find my charger and I really needed to update my iTunes, I just let it update without a charger. It seemed to be fine and I think I either switched it of or left it on sleep mode overnight (I don't quite remember). The next day, I opened it normally and it worked very slowly, it kept freezing and that little colorful rotating ball appeared every time I tried to turn on a simple program, like Chrome or something. I restarted it numerous times (it froze so much that I couldn't even force end the programs) and left it turned off overnight, but nothing helped. A few days after that I backed my MacBook up using Time Machine and deleted stuff I don't need (I previously used over 80 GB out of the 100 GB originally available). I went down to about 30 GB of space taken up, and after that my Mac started to work fine, except for the occasional freezes. It still wasn't as fast as it was before (I couldn't open a few tabs at the same time in Chrome, or two programs at the same time, without it continually freezing), but it worked fine so I just assumed it was because of all the space taken up. The occasional freezes still annoyed me, though (plus I couldn't put pictures on it because I was scared that the freezes would occur again), so I thought I could reinstall Snow Leopard. It seemed to work fine, so I just left it there as it installed. A while after that, the backlighting switched off, as it usually does after a while. What worried me, though, is that even when I pressed F2 or moved the mouse or pressed something on the keyboard, the screen would not become light again. The light was extremely dim and I could barely make out what it said on the screen, but it was bright enough that I read a message saying that Snow Leopard failed to install, and asking whether I'd like to try again. I restarted the laptop and the screen was not only very dark (the white screen that normally appears was now dark grey), but it also took a really long time to turn on. A few minutes passed before the Apple logo appeared, and it took about 5 minutes (in comparison to the usual few seconds that it takes me to switch it on) to fully load. Naturally, it still worked extremely slowly and kept freezing when it turned on, in addition to the fact that the screen was dim.
    Could someone please help me? I am completely not a Mac expert so I have no idea what the issue might be.

    Usually signals memory problem.

  • Since installation of Mavericks, Time Capsule works very slowly, and the next backup of 236 GM will take nearly 30 days. What can I do to get backup more rapidly ?

    Since the installation of Mavericks, Time capsule works very slowly and will need 30 days or more to produce a complete backup of about 200 GB. What can I do to get a complete backup more rapidly ?

    What setup is the TC now.. ? what model and what firmware? Maverick seems to need 7.6.4 on the older TC.. and latest firmware on the AC version.
    Is it in router or bridge mode? Do not use wireless only.. join a wireless network.
    Is the computer connected by wireless or ethernet? I strongly recommend a test by ethernet.. with wireless in the computer turned off. If it is still very slow something is majorly wrong.. but I need the info I asked for to troubleshoot further.

  • Captivate 4 is now working very slowly - how can I speed things up?

    Hi,
    My elearning course is now 13,641 KB and is starting to work very slowly. I have deleted all unused items from the library. Is there anything else I can do to speed things up? I don't want to split the project up at this stage.
    Thanks.

    Did the slowness begin when you moved your Captivate project files onto another drive?
    You need to be aware that you should always ONLY work on Captivate project files that are sitting on your own local hard drives, never those stored on a LAN or other drive.  Too many issues arise from working on non-local project files.

  • Mac works very slowly

    My Mac recently works very slowly, it takes forever to text,  to surf the net, even to type this letter.
    I guess the problem is that because I accidently installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.1  several times.
    I can c that I have 2 discs
    Name : Macintosh HD  Capacity : 120.47 GB
    Type : Logical Volume Group  Available : 12.5 MB
      Disk Status : Online  Used : 120.46 GB
    And the other one
      Mount Point : /  Capacity : 120.11 GB (
      Format : Encrypted Logical Partition  Available : 67.83 GB
      Owners Enabled : Yes  Used : 52.27 GB
      Number of Folders : 130,978  Number of Files : 678,559
    I don't understand iS that because I don't have enough space on the Disc1 or because I installed software several times.
    It works so slowly that I don't even feel that it's Apple now, what should I do?

    Hello, Thanks a lot for reply! Is that what u meant?

  • IPhoto working very slowly

    iPhoto is now working very slowly. Any editing move,keyword, or any other action, starts the ball moving and takes quite a while before the action is done. And often the program stalls and I have to force a close.
    I have rebuilt (command - option) and I had previously used iPhoto Library Manager to make a new library.
    Is it possible that the actual iPhoto program has a corruption in it? If so, how can I fix it?
    Any other suggestions?
    Asuch

    When iPLM is finished go to your User/Library/Caches folder and empty the folder named "com.apple.iPhoto". Then reboot and try iPhoto again.
    How much free space do you have on your boot drive? It's recommended that a minimum of 10 GB is maintained for optimal system and application performance. If you use iDVD regularly 25 GB free space is recommended.
    Also I'd delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and then reset the various iPhoto preferences when you next relaunch iPhoto.
    OT
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Validate() works very slowly with jse 1.4.2.

    Hi, I have a question about the method validate(). I really appreciate it if somebody could help me out.
    I have some components (buttons, textfields etc) in a panel. Let me refer it as Panel A. When I click one of the buttons in Panel A, I would like to remove some components and add some other components in Panel A. If I click the same button again, I would like to have Panel A return to the original configuration.
    I call method validate() only once after I remove and add components for each click event. This works perfectly with Java 2 runtime environment SE 1.2 and it take very little time. However, this program works very slowly with Java 2 runtime environment SE 1.4. That means with JSE 1.4, after I click the button, the Java applet will still be able to add and remove components, but it take very long time.
    Would somebody please give me a hand on this? Thanks a lot!

    Thanks for mzarra's suggestion. Here is my code:
    // Buttons: virtualModelButton
    // Panesls: pp_right, pp_right_bottom, pp_button1, pp_right_top2
    else if (evt.target == virtualModelButton)
    if (virtualModelButton.getLabel() == "Show Virtual Model")
    pp_right.remove(pp_right_top);
    pp_right.add("North", pp_right_top2);
    pp_right_bottom.remove(pp_button1);
    pp_right.validate();
    virtualModelButton.setLabel("Show Control Panel");
    else if (virtualModelButton.getLabel() == "Show Control Panel")
    pp_right.remove(pp_right_top2);
    pp_right.add("North", pp_right_top);
    pp_right_bottom.add(pp_button1, 0);
    pp_right.validate();
    virtualModelButton.setLabel("Show Virtual Model");
    }

  • Database works very slowly

    i installed oracle 10g on windows 2003 platform one year ago,it worked well during 1 year,but last 1 month it works well with restart,i restart this server every 24 hour,it works well but after 24 hour it gets slowly.
    but oracle uses 25% of resource all time and all tablespaces is ok
    i have analysed that it slows on database links,i am using links from remote database installed on linux os
    question
    How can i analyse that why it gets slowly
    if i change it also to linux platform will it works fast?
    how can i solve this problem for not to install all(os,database)again?
    thanx

    If his database sometimes works slowly, and sometimes not, then it seems that it's not Harddisk problem

  • Macbook Pro running very slowly, randomly shutting off and overheating. No idea what the problem is! Please help!

    I got macbook pro about a year and a half ago and up until now it has been running fine.
    However, in the last few days, it has been started to run tediously slowly!
    It wont allow me to open applications and i have to force quit out of any applications I finally manage to have because they freeze or stop responding.
    On Google Chrome, pages become unresponsive every few minutes.
    Even writing this post took more than 20 minutes as the laptop kept freezing and the webpage became unresponsive.
    It also randomly shuts off and when it restarts, a message comes up saying my Macbook was restarted because of an error.
    I haven't downloaded or updated anything that I know of recently that would have caused this.
    Ive been reading through some of the fourms on this and I thought it'd be helpfull to post some of the information you may need to help me solve this problem!
    Id be very gratefull if any of you could help! Thanks!

    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Last updated Illustrator CC 2014 works very slowly

    Hello everyone!
    Today I reintall Windows 8.1 (64bit) on my PC with all possible updates. After this I installed Illustrator CC 2014. It began to work ve-e-e-ery slowly, to hang up. Often not responce to any command. Task manager shows that proccesor works for 13-15% and uses just one core (is it normal?).
    Illustrator CC, which I use before reinstall Windows 8.1, worked well.
    Configuration PC:
    AMD FX-8320 (3.5@4 GHz, 8 cores)
    32 GB RAM DDR3 1333
    SSD OCZ Agility 4, 240 GB
    Videocard AMD R9 270X 2GB
    MB Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 (BIOS FFe 07/10/2012)
    Tablet Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium (CTE-650) with mostly new drivers
    Please, help And forgive me for my English.

    When you uninstall Illustrator, the preference files might have been retained, and also any third-party plug-ins that are installed will likely remain on your system, either of those could possibly be the cause of the problem you are experiencing.
    Preferences might have corrupted somehow. You can reset these by doing the following:
    Launch Illustrator and then press Alt+Control+Shift (Win) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac) as you start Illustrator.
    If you have installed any third-party plug-ins, I'd start by removing those first of all. Something as simple as an outdated font-activation add-in could cause start-up crashes. IOW: check first to see if your plug-ins are all compatible with the version of Illustrator you are using.
    When Illustrator isn't launched. Go to the Applications/ProgramFiles folder on your computer, and locate the Illustrator program folder, inside it is a Plug-ins folder. You can check if third-party plug-ins are the cause of the crash by temporarily dragging them out of that folder, and relaunching Illustrator after that.
    Hopefully Illustrator will launch past the Welcome Screen after doing that.
    Let us know how you go. If you are still experiencing problems, see if you can provide us with some extra information such as whether you are on Windows or Macintosh, what system version you are running, etc. Mylenium has included a useful link for this as well.
