  • ITunes 8.2 - mac no longer recognises my iPod Touch

Just "upgraded" to iTunes 8.2, however, when I connect my Touch nothing happens - no syncing or charging. It works with my wifes IPod nano so it isn't the cable or the Mac. Any ideas?

    Hi Stenton,
Make sure the iPod touch is directly connected to the MacBook, using the cable that came with it.

Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...

  • My computer no longer recognizes my iPod Touch. And the iPod Touch does not recognize that it is connected to a computer.

My computer no longer recognizes my iPod Touch. And the iPod Touch does not recognize that it is connected to a computer.  It has worked great for many days until today.
I’ve tried two different Apple cables.
I’ve tried different USB ports on the computer.
I have rebooted both the Mac and the iPod.
I’ve wiggled the cables and checked for dust in the connectors.
The iPod charges using this same cable connected to wall wart.  That’s a good sign.
Both the Mac and iPod seem to work fine separate from each other.  They just won’t talk anymore.

    1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
    OS 10.4.11
    iTunes 9.2.1
    iPod Touch 32GB, version 3.1.3 (7E18), model PB533LL

I found this possible solution on another support thread, so I tried it.
    turn off iPod
hold Sleep and Home buttons to start it.
When Apple appears, let go of Sleep button, but keep holding Home button.
When screen goes blank, let go of Home button.
Connect cable and check iTunes to see if it has conencted.
This did not work for me.
I then turned off the iPod, restarted the Mac, and restarted the iPod normally.
I connected them with the cable, and it works like normal.  :-)

  • Since upgrading iTunes 10, my computer and iTunes are no longer recognizing my iPod Touch.

Since upgrading iTunes 10, my computer and iTunes are no longer recognizing my iPod Touch.  Would a full reset of my iPod resolve this?  The iPod is still working, I just can't update apps or add songs...  The computer says that "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctions, and Windows does not recognize it.  iTunes is not seeing the iPod at all....

  • Contacts no longer on my ipod touch.

apparently after recent update my contacts are no longer on my ipod touch but ARE on my mac.  How do I get them back on my ipod?  During update, I told it to use the iCloud, (in case this affects the answer).  But I don't really understand what the iCloud is.  Sorry, I'm not a technical person.  Can follow instructions but don't understand how this all works.

  • HT1386 My laptop no longer recognises my iPod

Using the original cable, my iPod Touch does not seem to be recognised any more by my laptop. I have tried another iPod cable to eliminate the possibioity that the cable is damaged.
This iPod is only 5 months old ans has not sustained any physical damage. I discovered the problem last night when i tried to load another album played on my Laptop. When I plug the USB to my laptop, the iTunes program does not start as it used to.
Does this mean it no longer syncs with my laptop? Or what? How do I fix it?

  • ITunes updated and no longer syncs with iPod Touch 4th gen

On January 26, 2014, I updated my iTunes software.  After doing so, my iPod Touch 4th gen no longer syncs with or is recognized by iTunes.  Reinstalling iTunes has not worked.  I suspect that this is a problem created by the iTunes update.

  • Videos no longer sync to ipod touch

We have ipod touch gen 3 and gen 4.  After update we can no longer sync movies to ipods.  Some of our own videos sync, but none of the videos from the itunes store will sync.  They will play in Itunes.  Ipods are up to date with operating system.  I had to uninstall itunes and the apple programs to have a fresh install to make Itunes work.  Help please.

Did you check to make sure the Manually manage music and videos option was still enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes?
