My PC won't let me remove an old version or Itunes. says it doesn't recognize a path. HELPPP

This cmputer HP i bought from Best bUY and downloaded a 9.1 version of Itunes over a year ago, since then this program hasn't removed itself from my computer. Its completely crazy I am convinced. I have lost all songs on my computer and can't determine how to remove it.
Just so you know I have tried going to my Control Panel and unistalling the program.
I've tried deleting the music files that say I tunes, Quicktime or Safari.
DOESNT WORK. I HATE MY PC.

Why not try moving the file to the trash?
By the way, this is a program on Apple devices. Your question does involve Apple software, but is built around PCs, which is kind of off topic on this forum.
Try selling your PC and getting a MacBook Air or Pro instead.

Are you running Snow Leopard or later?
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation

    See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-no-longer-works-mac-os-10-4-or-powerpc
Since you have a Intel Mac, if you can upgrade to OSX 10.5.x then you may be able to use more current releases.
jscher2000, You should link to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html for 3.6.28 since the ftp is not mirrored.

  • I am unable to remove an old version of itunes

I am trying to update Itunes on my laptop and keep getting an error message:
    Unable to remove old version.
    What can i do?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes won't let me download the latest version of itunes to my pc

I have been trying to download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website to my PC.  When I click on the Download icon, it goes to the page saying thank you for downloading iTunes, but it hasn't download anything.  I've tried downloading in Internet Explorer and in Google Chrome and get the same thing.  I've rebooted my PC and tried again using either browser and get the same result.  My PC O/S is Windows 8.1 64 bit.  I have no idea why this happening or how to fix.  Any advice or suggestions?  Thanks.
    Bob

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

  • Can not remove the old version of itunes.

I am trying to install itunes7 , but about half way through the instalation it stops and asks me to locate "itunes.msi". I deleted all of my apple / ipod related files , but it still doesn't work. Help please.
    thanks

I am trying to install itunes7 , but about half way through the instalation it stops and asks me to locate "itunes.msi".
with that one, let's try the following procedure.
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover itunes and quicktime program files:
Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows
now try another itunes install. does it go through properly this time?

  • HT1349 My new iPhone 4S won't sync to my MacBook Pro.  I installed the latest version of iTunes but it doesn't recognize my phone when I connect with USB.  Any ideas on how to resolve this?

It's strange, on my work issued Windows laptop I have no issues syncing my iPhone to iTunes.  But on my personal MacBook, iTunes does not pick up my iPhone when I connect via USB.  Any advice on this please?

  • HT5654 I had to remove my old version of itunes because I was having problems with the latest update. Now I am tryin to download the lates version and it keeps telling me I am not the administrator. How can I downdoad itunes?

How can I reinstall itunes without it telling me that I am not the administrator?

The iTunes app on your device is bundled with iOS.
The latest version of iTunes for your PC is 10.7:http://www.apple.com/itunes/
If you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your PC, and are still having trouble with the device, try this:
    1.  Connect your device to your computer.
    2.  Listen for the "new hardware found" beeps.
    3.  If you do not hear the beeps and if iTunes does not automatically start, try a different USB port.
    4.  If you still do not hear the beeps and iTunes does not run, try a different charging/docking cable.
    5.  If that fails, then try connecting your device to a different computer.
    6.  If this fails, the device is defective.

    Hi Barbara,
I had a similar problem recently and using the "more like this" feature I discovered an answer. To a problem posed by Holo7,  who like myself was a newbie on this platform,  b noir proposed a solution to Holo7's problem that also worked with my problem. It involves downloading a version of MS Windows Instal Cleanup and using it to completely remove all traces of the old version.
If you look at my problem (follow OldGit66) and the link to Holo7's problem then you will find b noir's answer which I think may help you. I am new around here so you might want to wait for one of the higher status correspondents.

  • IPhone won't let me remove default email

iPhone 4 won't let me remove the default email, nor can I add an email. I don't like having the email accessible ALL the time. What do I do???

It worked! .. I tried the restart by holding the home and power button but it didn't work for me. So I tried: Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    And it worked.
    Thanks!
P.S. whoever tries this, your contacts might go out of order, so go to Setting>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>scroll to Contacts>Sort Order or Display Order.... And don't worry, your pics, downloaded apps, and other data doesn't get erased.

  • TS1814 I have an iPhone 3GS and was trying to restore it. Now it won't let me activate my phone and my itunes tells me I have no SIM card inserted when I do. Any ideas on how to get it working again?? I'm dying without it!

I have an iPhone 3GS and was trying to restore it...
Now it won't let me activate my phone and my itunes tells me I have no SIM card inserted when I do.
Any ideas on how to get it working again?

This means that the phone was previously hacked to carrier unlock (unauthorized unlock), and when you restored, the hack was removed and it became re-locked to its original carrier.  It will now accept a SIM card only from that carrier.
Your only option is to contact the carrier it's locked to and enquire if they will provide authorized unlocking.  Not all carriers will unlock and those that do usually have requirements and qualifications - i.e. you have to be a current or former customer in good standing.
