Are you saying that all of your PDFs are trying to open in Word? If that's the case, please try the solution outlined here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4799146#4799146
If that's not the issue you're facing, could you provide some more detail?

I hear you. The reason I asked is that on the computer end of the cable, I took the ring off and it looks like there are some clasps around the housing, so I was wondering if these were for the purpose of threading the the cable. I will try and get some pictures. The drill is charging, however!!

Hi I just downloaded three games which is COD 4 MW, COD 2 , Assasin's Creed II. When I upgraded from the iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5, I simply did a Backup of my phone using iTunes, plugged in the new iPhone 5 into my Mac, and did a Restore of that backup to put everything back. This procedure is documented around the web. Also, the new phone will ask you for your Apple ID and when you enter it, all your iCloud info will be downloaded to the phone. It worked pretty well for me.

I would make sure that you choose the Adobe Distiller Printer instance as the printer, before creating the pdf file. The problem you are seeing may be due to the need of Word to reformat each document according to the printer it thinks is being used to print the document.

I think you are converting a scanned PDF to word.
You might need to run OCR first to make the text recognizable and then convert it to word.

Hi there,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.

That'd be associated with trying to connect to the server(s) for one of the Adobe online subscription services.

These online services are separate and independent of the desktop application Acrobat.
It appears that you have had / are having internet connection issues.

Do you own Acrobat? If so what version? If not what version of Word and PP do you have? Newer versions contain non-Adobe software for creating pdfs. If you do not own Acrobat that it would be best to check in a Microsoft forum on how to use Word to create pdfs.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

Pdf file created in Word 2008 will not open in Acrobat 8.2.6 or any other Adobe program

I have created a 12 page newsletter in Microsoft Word Publisher 2008 and have done so many times before with no problem. Today, I have tried to save it as a .pdf file both in Save As and through the printer. Each .pdf file created in Word will not open in Acrobat 8.2.6, Photoshop C3, Adobe Reader nor any other Adobe software.
When I go to open it in Acrobat, my Mac gives me the spinning rainbow. If I try to click on the file, I get a watch and then Acrobat crashes or I have to force quit the software. I really need to convert this file and get it to the printer. Any advice???

I take the file, add a couple of watermarks and a footer for each page as well as a small image on the last page, add security on it and BAM, the file:

Have you started with a scanned document and then trying to go to DOCX. If so, you may have OCR set on the document before the export and it may be that the OCR can not recognize the fonts. However, the recognition appears to be based on typical block characters and I might interpret them the same way. You can try to change the primary language to German in the OCR, but that will likely not do the job. I suspect what you need is something that recognized old-German as this document appears to be (if I got the language wrong, I apologize). I am not sure Acrobat is up to the task on the type style, but is comparing to standard block characters. Some of the dedicated OCR packages might be able to do a better job.
