My persona keeps switching back!

I've had the same persona for a while now, so today I tried to change it and got a few new themes. It let me add them, but when I exited out and immediately opened FireFox again, it was back to the old one! No matter what I do, it just keeps switching back. I can go into tools and manually change it, but it doesn't stay after I reopen FireFox. It gets really annoying, please help!

Outlook 2013 - Read emails keep switching back to Unread

I have this weird problem with 2013 Outlook client and Exchange 2010 where on random some of read emails will switch back to unread state. Its very annoying specially when you have executives sending you emails and you can't tell if this is a new one or
one that you read and took action on.
Company's desktop support folks say that there is nothing wrong with my exchange account. I told them it has to be my account/maillbox or some setting on exchange as this is happening on two different machines. One is a windows 7 pro laptop, the other one
is windows 7 pro desktop. both 64bit version of windows but 32bit version of outlook/msoffice 2013.
I only installed outlook on the desktop to see if my outlook on laptop was the culprit. but since both clients are behaving the same way.. it has to be something on the exchange side.

The issue could occur if the sync between the Outlook client and OWA is not completed or the Outlook data file in the Outlook client is corrupted, every time when syncing to OWA, it will change the status back to “Unread”. To narrow down the issue, please
try the steps below:
Disconnect all the clients connected to the account except OWA.
Make the message as read in OWA, then check if the status will be changed back.
If not, open Outlook, then check if the status will be synced to Outlook.
If the status changes to unread again in OWA, it could be related to Outlook.
In addition, you can also try to re-create outlook profile and check if any helps.

Default folder keeps switching back to Documents when doing a Save As

In the process of saving image files from a friends website using Internet Explorer, I have suddenly found that everytime I go to save a image it keeps defaulting back to my documents folder.
I can then navigate through to find my destination folder (on an external hard drive & buried several folders into that) and save the file.
However, as soon as I go to save the next image, the Save As window has reverted back to my Documents folder, then I have to click through all the numerous links to get back to where I had just saved the last image.
This has only started to happen within the past week (probably since the last Apple Security Update). Normally the Save As option would allow me to go back to the folder that I had used last.
Is there anything I can do to return this function to it's original state?

The cursor keeps switching back and forth from arrow to arrow and hourglass. Why and how to fix it?

This is an occurrence that has just started and in the past it was my understanding that when the arrow and hourglass were being displayed together it indicated there was some activity in the computer, but of late it will switch from the pointing arrow to small arrow & hourglass when I am not touching anything or when writing a letter or something else it will switch without me doing anything to indicate that I am ready for it to do anything.

Try running a full virus scan. Maybe you have a virus/spyware/adware running in the background. You can hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on task manager and see what is running in the background as programs and processes. Click the button that says show all processes from all users.

Iphone 6 won't lock into landscape mode, keep switching back to portrait mode

Hi,
Please help me, this has driven me nut, I can't seem to lock my iphone 6 into landscape mode, it will only lock my screen when I am in portrait mode.
For example, if I open safari and turn my phone sideway, safari would turn into landscape mode, and if I want to lock my screen to keep it in landscape mode, it won't do it, as soon as I select that screen lock button, it will turn back to portrait mode and lock my screen up into portrait mode.
What should I do to keep my screen lock at landscape mode??? I have tried this with several apps and the same thing happen, like in Calculator, when I turn it sideway and try to lock it, it goes right back to portrait mode.
I restored my iPhone 6 from my iPhone 5c so just wonder if it has anything to do with that or just some bugs in iOS8???
My current display is in Standard and not Zoom display, and I even try to set it as Zoom and then reset it back to Standard to try to see if it works and it still doesn't work.

I Just spent over an hour with support on this issue and apparently in iOS 8 they removed the option for the phones to lock in landscape mode. So, there is nothing wrong with your phone, unfortunately they removed a very useful feature. Maybe they will see if enough users want it they will fix it in an update.

One website is redirected to another url and they keep switching back and forth

When I try to open a particular site (nwherald.com), Firefox automatically switches between that url and m.nwherald.com. When loading, the two jump back and forth. This doesn't happen with any other url, and I can open nwherald.com just fine in IE. What gives. It's not much of a newspaper, but it's all we have.

Did this problem occur recently with Firefox? The link runs fine for me; do you have any Firewall rules or antivirus settings that may block links?
It is strange that it is trying to force you to a mobile site, and then back to a desktop version. Would you happen to have Flash disabled? I am wondering if the site is detecting a missing plugin and trying to bring you to a more compatible version.
When you go to the site, you can check if the Web Console shows any errors:
* Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]] > Developer/Web Developer > Web Console
If it is redirecting too quickly, you can temporarily disable redirects:
* Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Options > Advanced > General
* Check "Warn me when sites try to reload or redirect the page"
Also I doubt this is related to your problem, but I notice you have two versions of Adobe PDF Plug-ins:
* Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.9
* Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.8
Having multiple versions of the same plugin can cause problems as well.

Trying to play movie thru mini DVI port - display keeps switching back to desktop(?)

I'm not able to play a movie continously to my TV through the dvi port (via hdmi cable) using display mirroring. Picture shows up OK, but after the movie runs a very short time attention shifts back to the iTunes control screen. I've successfully mirrored the display on a TV before, but not tried to play a movie until now. After messing with all the perturbations for a couple of hours, now I can't even get the picture to show up, though everything appears to be acting the same as it was. The movie plays fine on the computer w/o mirroring. I've also tried copying the movie onto my iPad and running the movie from it, but get a message that it's not legal to do so (movie bought via iTunes downloaded onto the iMac (2008; 20-inch; 2.4GHz).

Drag applications from your main desktop off the right side of the screen and they will appear on the TV. This is the extended desktop mode.

Yahoo has replaced Google in my search box... I have researched all previous answers both here and in Google, but none of these solutions work as Yahoo keeps switching back!

After MUCH more research, I did find a solution that worked... search all the files in my computer for anything relating to Yahoo and deleting every reference to it, per this link:

I was horrified and disgusted how many Yahoo files were on my NEW computer, some 27 files... parasites!! I not only deleted them, but immediately purged my Recycle Bin. LOL
Delete all yahoo files completely out of your computer and your life will go back to normal.

This happens to me too; sometimes the name will disappear from recent calls - only the phone number will be listed, and the contact completly disappears from my contacts. They always re-appear eventually, sometimes after hours. Or if I try to re-add them from my recent calls, they will sometimes reappear while I'm in the middle of adding the contact again. It is very inconvenient though to be looking for a contact you know you added and it is not in your contacts list. I know people will ask and no, no, I do not have a specific group selected.
Any ideas appreciated.

I updated my iphone yesterday with the latest version of safari and whatever updates where in there. I hoped that the issue around wi fi and battery quick battery drain may have been resolved...it wasn't and in addition now when I tap my mail it shows the list for 10 secs then goes back to the main screen - no matter what I do. Anyone else had this problem???

If you just recently updated to iOS 7, then your phone would download all of the emails again.
You should have your own email no matter what. This way, if you delete something it doesn't impact your husband's email, and vice versa.
These days, it is actually quite uncommon for a husband/wife to share an email address. It was more common years ago, but with so much every day business taking place online these days that trend has definitely shifted towards individual email addresses.

My keyboard on my computer keeps switching to using symbols as I'm typing. I've gone through and changed/reset/etc the keyboard, text, and language settings. I've tried to figure out if a key is stuck, but couldn't find one. I've disabled function keys to check if that affects anything, it does not. The keys will eventually, spontaneously switch back to normal (with or without my troubleshooting). It keeps switching back and forth without rhyme or reason. I eventually linked a wireless keyboard, which types correctly- even when my computer keyboard does not- so I figure it must be a technical malfunction of somekind. Using this other keyboard permanently would be fine, except it is not my own and I am traveling abroad while working from my computer.
Please help guide me to a solution!

You may just have to take it into your local Apple Store and have them run diagnostics. Some applications will let you type diacritical marks if you hold down, for example, the a and e keys, but that doesn't seem if that's what you're experiencing.
If you've already fooled around with Language & test, Input Sources, etc., then it's likely a hardware malfunction.

HD compression profiles keep switching to variable (VBR) from CBR

Trying to encode an HD file with CBR (Constant Bit Rate) using Compressor, but somehow the profile keeps switching back to VBR (Variable Bit Rate).
Is there any way to accomplish this with Compressor or do I need other software for this?

You can edit and produce HD footage just fine on your machine -- I thought you were only having trouble playing back the final result. There will be jerky playback when you're previewing the timeline, and some exports might take longer, but there is nothing preventing you from editing the full result on the hardware you have now. You just have to have realistic expectations on how smoothly the editing and previewing will go. Your hardware is perfectly capable of producing a broadcast-quality H.264 output file. You just can't play it smoothly on that machine, is all.
As for your next machine, Adobe lists minimum and recommended hardware requirements on their website for all their products.

Keyboard keeps switching to foreign keyboard after using diction/voice control

Whenever I click the little mic button when typing in text (no matter in what application it is), my iPhone keeps switching it over to a foreign keyboard and I can only switch back by reopening the app or quitting the text frield and clicking it again. It is very annoying. I switched my keyboard to Kanji a while ago to test something out, but I turned off that keyboard right after I didn't need to use it, now it keeps switching back to it. Is there any way to fix this?

I found the same problem. My (Australian) keyboard has { and [ on the same key. The shortcut for "History, Back" is cmd+[ . This conflicts with the shortcut cmd+{ , and going back takes priority it seems.
What does work for me to shift between tabs (even though it doesn't show in the menu shortcuts) is:
cmd + shift + { (to move tab to the left)
cmd + shift + } (to move tab to the right)
