How do I activate my iPhone?
If you are ready to activate your iPhone, follow these simple steps:
Insert your activated, compatible SIM (iPhone 3GS) or micro-SIM card (iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S) into your iPhone.
Turn your iPhone on by pressing and holding the On/Off button for a few seconds. Then follow the onscreen instructions to activate and set up your iPhone.
You also have the option to use iTunes to complete the activation. Connect iPhone to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the included Dock Connector to USB Cable. iTunes will open automatically. Then follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes. In order to use iTunes, make sure your computer is connected to the Internet when activating your iPhone, either through a WiFi network or by direct connection to your Internet router or Ethernet network. If it’s not connected, you will not be able to activate successfully.
Activation requirements
Your iPhone is all you need for activation. It will guide you through the process and connect to either a Wi-Fi or cellular network to complete the activation.
If you are using iTunes to activate your iPhone, you need an Internet connection for your computer and the current version of iTunes. You can download iTunes for free for Mac or PC. You also need to create anApple ID if you don't already have one. An Apple ID account allows you to preview and buy music, TV shows, movies, applications, games, and more so that you can enjoy them on your iPhone. While this account is free, a credit card is required for setup. Your card is not charged by Apple until you make a purchase from the iTunes Store or App Store

    YOu should ask your family friend.   The message you get about activation server being unvailable usually indicates a hacked or jailbroken phone.
    only the carrier that the phone is locked to can unlock the phone.

  • How/Why Do Phone Features Not Activated Get Turned On Anyway?

    We have the FIOS Triple Play. The main phone line uses most of the phone features/services, including voicemail, which was activated by the person using that line. About a month after getting FIOS I arranged with Verizon to terminate my personal copper landline and have my number become the second line on the FIOS account. I am older and have used an answering machine for many years and have no problems with doing so. I have never used a provider's voicemail service and did not want to. So I took no steps to activate this feature. I did try to activate the caller ID display on my TV set for my line, but could not. So I chatted with Verizon and asked how I could do this. I was told it was not possible at this time but it might be addressed sometime in the future. About a week later it was apparently working despite that not being possible.
    Over the weekend I was informed by the person who uses the main line that apparently there was Voicemail active for my number. I just got done with two different Verizon Chat Agents to get the thing turned off. Since this feature was not activated by anybody in this house, it was obviously activated by Verizon. I do not understand why this would happen. I do not know if there were any messages in the voicemail when they turned it off for that number. And I am only assuming it is actually turned off as I don't know how to determine this.
    What probably annoys me the most in all this is my email is the main one for the account. So any notifications about changes Verizon has made to services, features etc, come to me. So why did I not get a notice that the Voicemail feature had been turned on? And isn't a password involved? Since I did not activate the feature, I certainly did not choose a password, so how could I even access any voicemails????

    Verizon Voicemail is a free feature that is available to all customers of Verizons home phone service at no additional cost. The reason you saw no order is that your phone line (and everyone elses) is turned on with this feature activated. Any subsequent changes of the account after the line is turned on (such as removing the voicemail or adding other features) will trigger an email such as the one you are seeing. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and hopefully that this helps explain what went on.

    5c is activated and live on Verizon. Call, txts, and data.  Issue is that 5c thinks that is is NOT activated - keeping getting pop up warnings.  Operationally this prevents me from using v-mail via iPhone app - i need to dial Verizon directly.  This phone is new and activated yesterday. Any ideas?

    Contact Verizon to troubleshoot the issue with them.

    I have lost my iphone,and did the same thing as you and activated the Find my iphone app unfortunately i haven't yet found or got it back,to reactivate your phone you will have to call apple support contact them to unblock your phone.

    i recenly purchased a new iphone,and had my information transfored from from the old iphone onto the new one. i have either lost,misplaced,or someone else has taken the iphone. the old phone was momentarily out of service, however i had activated the "find my phone" in the settings. i figure the battry has already ran down so if it were in the house i would still be unable to locate the phone.when logging into icloud to try and locate the phone all i can find is the new iphone i recently purchased. does anyone have a few suggestions i might try to locate this phone ,or am i S.O.L. ??????

    If the battery is dead the only way to find it is to physically look for it.
