My phone broke... using old one?

My phone broke and I have 2 weeks till upgrade time for 2 year contract thing. I want to use my dad's old verizon phone is it possible to transfer my number on it and use it for 2 weeks? Does it cost anything? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

On the surface, yes, this is entirely doable, and there would be no extra cost.
What will make a difference are these things:
1. If the phone requires a data plan and you do not currently have one, then that charge would be added for the 2 weeks. On the other hand, if it does not need one and you currently DO have one, you'll save a little bit!
2. If the phone is linked to an account with a balance still owed, the balance would need to be paid before the phone could be activated.
3. If the phone is reported as lost or stolen, that would need to be cleared before it could be activated.
If none of the above apply, and it is a Verizon branded phone, then just charge it up, turn it on, dial *228 and choose option 1 - follow the prompts to activate the phone. Or, call 800-922-0204 from another phone and have a rep talk you through the activation.

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them. You will have to delete the apps from the phone and re-purchase them using your Apple ID.

Restore from the backup!
You password: You have set it! It might be your passcode or you mioght have set it accidentally, so test all of the passwords you normally use. If you cannot get the password you backup is lost, but you can still sync your iTunes content.

I see. If you go to Settings>General>About>Name, that is the current name of your phone. The backup bearing that name should be the more recent one, and therefore the one you want to keep. I would delete the other one (presumably the one set up by Best Buy under your real name, assuming you changed it later), then see if that gives you enough space to back up again.
If it still reporting insufficient storage, use this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4847 to try to determine what's taking up all your room. In them meantime, you can perform a manual backup on your computer so your have a current one while you're troubleshooting this. To do so, connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side and select Back Up.

HDSP 96/52: New driver doesn´t work. How can I deinstall it to use old one?

after installing the newest rme-audio driver (Version 1.6) for my hdsp 96/52 on my G5 2 Ghz dual I don´t get no sound anymore.
I also installed the flash update.
It seems to be a driver problem, cause on my backup-system, using the 1.5 version, everything works fine.
I even tried to use the new driver on a completly fresh installed OS 10.4, but I don´t get sound.
Anyone knowing about these problems?
If not: How can I completely deinstall the new driver to get back to the old one?
There is no deinstaller and I allready deleted all "hdsp"-files. But the old driver is not installed properly anymore, since I´ve used the new installer.

It's the phone that you want unlocking from the EE network, not the SIM, isn't it? They are 2 diff things.
If you've already been using the phone on EE you can just apply for unlocking from your online a/c, otherwise ...
To unlock an EE-locked phone, you need to get a Free EE PAYG SIM for it, register an online a/c for it with EE in your own name and top it up with at least £9 to cover the unlocking fee and apply to EE to unlock it by filling in the Unlocking your device form as the PAYG option. It is not free to unlock an EE-locked phone.

I'm trying to buy ebooks from app store.I've just used old one before w/no prob downloading apps. Never had much luck trying to make these changes.

Unfortunately I need the Smart Web Printing feature that I guess only HP has, or I'd try a different brand. And now even HP has very few models with that available.
My error msg is a little different from those previously stated, but close: 0xc18a0201. Even tho there were frustrations with my c6280, I did like several of its unique features which are hard to find now under $100. I hate how HP (& I suppose other brands also) are CONSTANTLY changing models & then of course ink cartridges.
Oh heavens, I've had the c6280 a whopping 2 1/2 years!   I'm sure they want us poor slobs to have to buy a new one every year & a day! To say nothing of the exorbitant prices for ink. And now if this one is really dead in the water, I have SIX unused #02 ink cartridges which I cannot return---I got them in a combo pack, & for some reason have wound up with THREE lite pink & THREE lite blue cartridges, while having to buy extras of the other colors, that ran out before the others!!!   Yeah, & what's with that not being able to print in BLACK if a color runs out????
Anyway I really loved your essay!   It's a classic! And says it all! I hate that we have to be 'slaves' to the electronic 'wonders'!!!

Got New AC Card, Can I Use old one for Bluetooth

OK, the title pretty much sums up my question. I got this ASUS wireless adapter

and a new Nighthawk Netgear router. My question isn't about configuring them, but so far I've not seen BlueTooth mentioned. My computer, an HP Envy 700-216 apparently uses a wireless card, that is a 150 Mb/sec, that also handles the Bluetooth.
So my question is, can I keep the old card in, and somehow configure it to only do the Blue Tooth function in the computer, while allowing my new AC card, to function as the wireless adapter, in "AC" mode? And if so, how do you think I'd accomplish this?
Or should I just remove the other one? Is there a way to deactivate just the wireless portion, without disabling the Bluetooth?

Hi,
You might run into an IRQ sharing problem with two network cards. I would suggest removing the wireless card and get the AC card working. If you need to pair Bluetooth devices with your PC then consider trying an USB Bluetooth adapter.

New iPhone - want to use old one as Touch

Just picked up the 4 today, now I want to use the iPhone 3G as a Touch. Can I have the same apps on the "3G Touch" as well as the iPhone 4 from the same iTunes account? Or does the "3G Touch" need its own iTunes account and order the apps all over again?

I did the same thing. Just use a different name for the old phone. I changed mine to itouch as a name.
I also took out the sim card.
It syncs all apps, music, books, etc just as it always did. The only difference is that it can't make or receive phone calls.
My granddaughter calls it her itouch since I have a lot of games on it especially for her.

Changed OS language, but Finder still using old one

Hey guys.
I changed language in my mbp from German to English (using sys preferences)... Everything is as suppsoed in ENG but Finder... Catalogues and the whole finder's interface are still German.
Anyone has idea why is that? All other programs are in ENG now.

- Did you actually change you Apple ID or did you just change the email address associated with the Apple ID. The Apple ID (which is an email address) can me different that the email address associated with your account. Also see:

You are allowed to do this. Are you asking how to do it? Just put it in the DVD drive and install like you did the first time. You'll need the serial number included with the DVD's.

The least expensive way is a USB Wireless adaptor. However, you can't buy "just any" because most do not come with the required Mac software drivers.
I like this one:

It comes with proper drivers and the "cradle" lets you move the antenna for optimum reception.
If your iMac's USB 2.0 ports, you will get rather decent speed with this device. If it has USB 1.1, it will still work but not as fast. G4 1Ghz iMacs could have either 1.1 or 2.0 ports, so it's hard to predict without knowing more details.
