My phone calls are dropping

I have updated 7.1.2 & then later on ios 8. I must have been dropped 10-12 times yesterday while in the call. This is really frustating. I hear like a static bolt on the phone and my call is dropped.
I have no idea what is this ... Has anybody experienced this problem?
BTW I have a 5s phone.

If your phone is still under warranty, the manufacturer should replace it for free (unless they deem it to be accidental damage). If the warranty has expired, that means that you have used your device for long enough that if it wears out, it is time for you to replace it at your expense. If you are using the phone insurance, then there is a deductible on the insurance, just like any other insurance policy.

You're not speaking to Apple on in this forum, nor will someone from Apple see this post.   We are just users like you and I.
Have you tried to restore or reset your phone?
Or contact your carrier in re: to your sim card

I have a Galaxy S3 and love this phone but here at my new home which has absolutely no trees of bushes blocking anything, my phone calls are dropped ALL THE TIME and it's driving me crazy.  Verizon finally said that they would come out and boost the signal but haven't seen anyone in two weeks.  I have called Verizon tech help for one year to get help with this, either trade phone or something.  I am so frustrated!  I picked Verizon for the clear calls and coverage inside hospitals and buildings but it's been terrible.  I have had three of these phones replaced.  I need a different model like the S4 or the S5 I think cause it's something in this model.

Verizon is quickly becoming the worst cell phone company out there.  To read all of these pleas from your loyal customers is just so sad and pitiful.  You need to be sued for your data overage charges that you are intentionally imploding on your customers.  They have pleaded, very intelligently, with you to do something to fix the issue and you willingly have NOT.  As is with my reception issue that I was promised a signal booster for two months ago, so is this issue with the data.  You don't follow up and solve the issues.  Therefore the courts will find you fraudulent. When I was promised by your super tech that I needed a signal booster and he was sending it out overnight at no charge to me, I was relieved that it would finally be taken care of so I wouldn't lose faith with Verizon.  Well, that was two months ago now with no record of it ever being ordered or on my file anywhere.  I have since called three more times with hours of conversations about that issue and two more techs have told me they were sending me a signal booster with no follow up what so ever.  WOW!  That's pitiful!  You may not care now, oh but you will later when you lose lots of money and business.

  • My 4S iphone keeps trying to turn off during phone calls and drops the calls.  Sometimes I have to call back 3-4 times to finish a conversation.

While talking on my iphone, the phone tries to turn itself off.  Not just once, but continuous, and not just dropping the call, but actually tries to turn itself off.

Well, then I'm glad this is most probably not a hardware issue - at least not an exceptional, maybe defect of all? -. This seems to be a good idea, because 2G will nearly everywhere available, so phone calls are not likely to drop at all. I'm just a bit confused, because they promised intelligent switch even during calls. For me that means that if the better, faster connection is available, then it uses that, and if it wouldn't be, then it switches to the slower one.
Anyways, thanks for your reply. I guess it's a "just get used to it" issue.

  • My incoming phone calls are being shared with my wife's phone as well both phones are receiving the same call show do I correct?

    Iphone question
my my incoming phone calls are being shared with my wife's IPhone as well, both phones are getting the same call, how do I correct?
    thanks

That is a new feature described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off.
You may also want to look into using separate Apple IDs for you and your wife. That is now more flexible with new Family Sharing features: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/

  • My daughter's phone calls are ringing on my phone... how do I fix this?

Hello... I am trying to figure out why my daughters phone call are ringing to my phone and how to fix it.  Anyone have this happen before and do you have any suggestions>

Try looking at this if you are sharing the same Apple ID.  http://osxdaily.com/2014/09/29/stop-other-devices-ringing-iphone-call/
Also consider setting up seperate Apple IDs and using Family Sharing instead.

  • Having a problem with iphone 4S. Phone calls are getting dropped and cutting in and out.

I seem to have very little or no service at all recently.
All my calls are cutting in and out or hanging up in the middle of a conversation. I have to stand in the corner or my kitchen to get a clear call or get at least 2 bars.
I called Verizon yesterday and tried a few things they suggested but nothing worked.
I dont have another phone to call them back on since they suggest we call from a different phone until the late evening. Someone was supposed to call my back and never did.
Not sure on what else to do.
I am extremely frustrated and annoyed that I cant even really use my phone.
    HELP

If the on/off switch does not work, that is a hardware problem. The other problems may be related to a hardware problem or faulure as well.
Make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby to confirm.

  • Transferred calls are dropped after CNA timeout

I have a problem I just can't find the answer to. I am certain tha the answer would be easy, but right now, I'm lost.
Here is a quick description of the problem (CCM 4.1.3 btw.)
If a call to DN 1111 in partition X is not answered (internal and external), it is redirected to the operator at DN 3001 in partition Y.
However, if a call to DN 2222 is answered, then manually transfered to DN 1111 and not answered. The call is dropped (and a busy signal is issued) when it is supposed to redirect to DN 3001.
The strange thing is: if I but the DN 3001 in partition X (Same as DN 1111), the redirection works.
Short summary: When a direct inbound call to any DN is timed out and then redirected to another DN. It works.
When a call has been transfered to a DN, and then is timed out. Redirection is only successfull within the "current" partition.
Which CSS is used when a call is transfered, and then redirected (timed out). It is clear to me, that it does not use the CSS defined in line-config of the phone.
    Any good answers?
    Kind Regards
    Lasse

Yes it is. I will try to clearify the issue:
If I dial an internal DN (DN 2003 dials DN 2004 in partition X)), and the dialled party does not pick up the phone. The line is confgured to FWD No Answer Internal (and eksternal) to DN 3001 (in partition Y) using a CSS with partition Y in it. There is nothing wrong with this scenario, and the call is forwarded to the swichboard as designed.
But if DN 2001 calls DN 2002 and the user at DN 2002 manually transfer the call to DN 2003 (and complets the transfer without waiting for DN 2003 to pick up the call), the FWD No Answer Internal (and eksternal) to DN 3001 fails. The same rule is applied, but gets disconnected when beeing transfered to a different partition. If DN 3001 is put in partition X (with DN 200X) the FWD No Answer Internal (and eksternal) to DN 3001 works just fine.

  • Phone call volume drops

This has occurred twice so far.  Either at the beginning of an incomming or outgoing call, the ear piece volume drops to almost zero.  Now it just happened in the middle of a call too.  Only rebooting the phone resolves the problem.  I'm wondering if this is something I should confront Apple with.

    Hi,
Just purchased a 4 months old, like new, Lumia 1020.
    Call volume is ridiculous.
I asked some acquaintances who also happen to have 1020 and they confirm the same - they all have problem with call volume being too low. Some of them started using bluetooth headset because Lumia's headset became unusable.
Some of them changed several Lumias under warranty, only for problem to reappear again after some time.
Soft reset, hard reset doesn't help. Signal is excellent. Protective mesh is clean. Blowing it doesn't help either.
Now, since I didn't know that this model has such a huge and elementary problem, I wonder what should I do, except get rid of it and make someone else miserable ?
You've put me in a bad position, Nokia...
    Didn't expect this, very disappointed.

  • Lumia 920 reboots and my voice in phone calls are ...

    Hi,
I received my Lumia 920 yesterday and experienced these errors right away:
    1. When I'm in a call, the person I talk to can't hear me. Instead it is metallic or bubbling sounds when I talk. From time to time, it is possible to have a conversation for a couple of seconds, but then the weird sounds starts again.
    2. The phone reboots by itself every now and then.
    3. I can see that the coverage disapears sometimes in the top left corner.
If I call with VoIP (Lync 2013 app) there are no audio problems.
I have been in contact with my carrier (Telia, Sweden) and have got a new SIM-card, but the problems persists.
I have also tried to change Max Connection speed to 2G which seemed to help at first, but then the phone just started to reboot over and over when I tried to call.
I have also tried to reset the phone to factory defalt, but the problem persists.
The audio problems persists regardless if I'm using the headset shipped with the phone or a bluetooth headset from Jabra.

    Hi,
Since you mentioned that you already reset the phone to its factory default it would be better if you're going to visit any local Nokia Care point. I belive the problem that you have will fall under hardware issue. It has something to do with the Microphone.
Just to make sure, you can also try to perform a software update. If it will not work, visit a local Nokia Care point so technician can evaluate your phone.

  • Would love to know why my calls are dropping mid conversation?  Very irritating for me and callers. I've just stopped answering...which is ridiculous with a monthly bill over $280.... should be able to use when needed.  I have already *228 and reset netwo

Also.....I keep going between no bars of service to 2 or 3 back to no bars.  And 3G to a "O"  then back to 3G.  Help please....cant keep Verizon on the phone long enough to do anything.

How recently did you switch?  If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account.  The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices.  I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

  • Phone calls are not working

I upgraded to 7.0.4 this morning and now I can't hear a person's voice on the other end of the line, whether I called them or they called me. I also cannot hear the phone ringing when I make a call.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps...  Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9700-series-discussion-bold-2/224375-latest-os-9700-5-0-0-10...
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
Some users might worry they will void their device warranty by loading an OS from another carrier. There is really nothing to worry about.
Please read more information on that here:
