  • Mobile phone certificates

    Hi all,
I'm planning to purchase a CA server certificate to use with a J2ME aplication. But I've realized that each different mobile phone model (more if we talk about different companies) comes with a list of default CA certificates. We want our aplication compatible with as different phone models as possible, and we would also want to know which of them will connect to our server (https) and recognize the certificate. So...does anybody know where could we find a list of mobile phones telling which certificates each of them has installed by default? I've searching in the web, even at differente mobile phones companies webs, but I havent found it.
    Thanks a lot

We were able to get this working by creating certificates with our private CA. Had a couple things jazzed up with the ASA config but TAC helped one of my co-workers correct whatever the ASA issues were.

  • Error message about the phone certificate

when i try to download,an error message is appear.it says ''u have no certificate on phone or SIM''.gave me a solution.

Download Nokia Suite on your pc. Connect your phone to a pc in Nokia Suite mode. Now click on the green arrow icon. It will show if the software update is available for your phone. If yes you will be given the option to install it. Please ensure full power backup of your phone, pc, modem and good net connectivity before proceeding for update. Also do not run any applications on the pc while updating. Remove the security keyguard and pin code request for easier update process. Do not remove the cable during update even if the pc says so. And back up all your data as update erases all of it.
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Microsoft communicator certificate key store passw...

I configured communicator on my N8. Had to install a certificate to access the office network . Am able to access it but every few seconds I keep getting asked for the phone key store password. Is there anyway to avoid it? Tried moving the personal certificate as a phone certificate, but that doesn't help with the authentication......any solutions.

    Hi,
I have recently installed communicator for N8. But it gets stuck at authentication.... Can u provide some insight as to how/where u got the certificate key and how u configured the communicator

  • Open mode (monitor mode) with ise and catalyst switches

    Hi There,
Anyone know if the following observation is correct ?
From the TrustSec 2.1 "Monitor Mode" guide i get the idea that Open mode, is not really as zero impact in a data gathering part of an ISE deployment is a was expecting. The guide describes using Profiling to authorize Cisco IP phones for the Voice VLAN.
    - Does this mean that regular methods like using CDP won't work to for this once i enable dot1x on an access switch port interface ?
    - And that i will need to figure out which ports should be set for multi-domain (phone+pc), and which should be set for multi-auth(possibly multiple devices on one port) during the open mode period ?
    Regards
    Jan

    Hello Jan-
Below is my input to your questions:
From the TrustSec 2.1 "Monitor Mode" guide i get the idea that Open mode, is not really as zero impact in a data gathering part of an ISE deployment is a was expecting.
Yes, a device is still allowed on the network even if it fails all authentication methods (MAB, 802.1x, etc). Basically you use monitor mode to perform discovery and see what would have been blocked had ISE been deployed in production.
The guide describes using Profiling to authorize Cisco IP phones for the Voice VLAN.
Yes, you can use profiling to do this. Keep in mind that you will need advanced licensing for this. Otherwise, you can either use MAB with static MACs imported/entered in the local database or EAP-TLS with phone certificates
    - Does this mean that regular methods like using CDP won't work to for this once i enable dot1x on an access switch port interface ?
CDP will still work, in fact some of the profiling happens thanks to CDP, however, the device will simply not going to be allowed to get on the network and the Voice VLAN unless it passes authentication/authorization.
    - And that i will need to figure out which ports should be set for multi-domain (phone+pc), and which should be set for multi-auth(possibly multiple devices on one port) during the open mode period ?
This really depends on how secure you want your network to be
    Hope this helps!

  • E72 WiFi Connectivity based on IEEE 802.1x (PAEP)

    Hello,
I have a WiFi in my office that requires you to have a certificate installed on your laptops to connect through it using IEEE802.1x (PAEP) authentication. Now I have my laptop connected through Wifi but when I want to connect my Nokia E72 cell phone using the same WiFi; it is unable to connect, in fact it asks for a WEP Key which I don't know what is it because when I connected my laptop after configuring my domain user id and password it worked without asking for any key. Now how do I add my these settings onto my cell phone to be able to use my office's WiFi. I have added the certificate into my cell phones certificate library but it is still not working. Can anyone suggest a possible solution for this issue. It would be of real great help.

  • How do I Create an Android Certificates for Phone Gap?

I wanted to know how to create an Android Cerficiate that I can use in Phone Gap. I tried to use the certificate that I created in Flash but apparently Phone Gap is no longer accepting these kinds of certificates.
If anyone knows of a straight-forward, designer friendly article or resource that explains how to do this, it would be much appreciated. Flash makes its super simple to create an Android Certificate.

    Thank Nancy. This is helpful.
However, Flash Professional has built-in panel that allows you to create an Android certificate in under 30 seconds.
The information from Android and Phone Gap is helpful but seems to be unecessarily clunky. Since this is my first time creating an Android certificate (outside of Flash) it looks like this process will take a few hours (or more) assuming trial and error and reading through the documentation.
I was just wondering if there is a simpler solution available, something similar to the process in Flash Professional.

  • My Windows phone 8.1 can't seem to find any certificates, needed for VPN

    Hello,
I set up an IKEv2 VPN at home so I could use it on my desktop as well as on my Windows phone.
Now, I have two options which are supported by the VPN: 1) I can use username/password, but then I have to install the root certificate. 2) Use the client certificate.
Now I've tried both but none seem to work. When I use username/password I get error 13801, which apparantly means that it can't find the root certificate. When I try to set up the VPN using the client certificate, I can't set it up because when I want to
choose a certificate, it says there aren't any.
I have installed both (several times by now) using the PFX and PF12 formats. I've tried regenerating them. None of this helps.
My phone won't accept any crt or pem files so that's not gonna work either.
I've tried restarting the phone, that didn't help either.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Okay, I didn't get it to work with user/password authentication, but I did manage to use a client certificate.
What I had to do was regenerate the certificate with Extended Key Usage: ClientAuth.
Now, I'm facing a new issue because the server isn't accepting me for some reason, which apparantly has something to do with authentication or encryption. I haven't figured that out yet so I'll have a look at the server software instead.
But if anyone knows what kind of thing Windows phone could be asking for that Windows desktop doesn't, that could be useful.

  • Windows Phone 8.1 can't install "Windows Phone App Studio certificate"

I try to install the certificates from provided on appstudio.windowsphone.com/Home/HowTo
choose "Open" device go to "Add workplace account"  I choose "add"
    nothing happen
and can't install my app in next step
    thank you

I'm having the exact same issue. I've made the whole app, and received the email from Microsoft. After receiving & reading the email, I (on my Dev Preview Windows Phone 8.1) tapped on the "click here" to install the certificate for my phone. Upon tapping,
I was given the screen "open" or "save. I've tried both now. Neither of them work, though. It's simply the AET.aetx file. I click on "tap to open", and yes, it does open just fine. However, it simply takes me to "add workplace account?" I have also tried both
"add" or "cancel". Both simply return you to the IE page. Nothing seems to be going on, but I thought that perhaps it may be downloading in the background. So, I simply waited for a bit, and then tried downloading my actual app (from the email). However, it
tells me that I need an app to open the file (App.Studio.WindowsPhone_1.0.0.0_AnyCPU.appx). This is where I am stuck at as of now. I'm sure I'm missing an obvious step, but I'm really just not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have updated my phone with the new 6 IOS. Since doing this my icloud account keeps saying that verification failed and the certificate for service is invalid.  Folowin this problem my phone also does not recognise my other iphone contacts so i cannot facetime or send imessage

You don't need an app. You need couple's counseling. I believe what you want to do may also be illegal in many jurisdictions.

  • EAP-TLS w/freeradius failing. Phone doesn't present Client certificate.

    Hello,
I'm currently on the first phases of deploying a Cisco IPT 802.1X based proof of concept using freeradius, Cisco switching infrastructure (4500's).
The requirements are to use EAP-TLS authentication for the phones, and freeradius as Radius Server.
While trying out the concept in lab using an ISE Radius server, the configuration was straightforward and I did manage to authenticate IP phones using their MIC certificates to the ISE.
Going to actual testing with freeradius, EAP-TLS authentication keeps looping, the phones keep sending RADIUS Access requests, but not being rejected or allowed.
    What was done:
    - set up freeradius with EAP-TLS configuration, trusting both cisco CA root  and manufacturing root.
    - freeradius has a server certificate generated by Thawte SSL CA certificate, where EKU fields are properly set for server authentication (and also client authentication)
    - Phone had 802.1X enabled (and it does support EAP-TLS, as verified with the ISE test)
What I can see while running a wireshark trace on freeradius is:
         - both parties negotiate properly that they will engage in EAP-TLS.
         - they  start the TLS handshake
         - Server sends its certificate on a Server Hello to the phone (which is meant to not validate it)
         - Client (phone) never sends its certificate (MIC) to the server.
         - Client restarts EAP-TLS negotiation and goes on and on.
Unfortunately the debugs/Captures on freeradius do not allow to verify if the server certificate exchange is finished, or if it is failing somewhere (like a fragment being dropped).
Does anyone have an idea on what might be happening? I find it very strange that the phone, on a freeradius deployment, would behave differently than one on a ISE deployment, especially because it doesn't validate the server certificate, so it shouldn't matter what is presented to the phone.
Phone firmware is 9.2(3) and callmanager 8.6
    Thanks

Found the problem. Apparently ADU can't access certificate store if client is not part of the AD domain

    Hi guys,
    Thank you for your posts!
Before posting a new message to this thread, please read this.
The certificate can go missing if you accidentally (or on purpose) delete it or get your phone flashed at an unauthorized repair shop. To get your certificate back, please try these three steps:
Update your software using Firmware Over The Air (FOTA). If there is an update available, the certificates will be downloaded to your phone
Try reinstalling the firmware using Nokia Suite/Nokia PC Suite. It will install the genuine software for the phone along with the certificate
If the issue persists please contact your local authorised Nokia Care Point
For more information please see this post.
    Hope this helps,
