My phone didnt fully update. now it wants to restore but keeps looking stuck with the apple on the screen and the bar isnt moving
i started the update through i tunes. it didnt work. said it needed to restore my phone. ive tried a few times. it gets stuck! nothing will happen!!!

The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting not being able to update your iOS device:

Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.

IOS OTA update failed, now iPad wants to restore, but that fails too
After successfully doing the iOS 5.0.1 update on my iPhone via OTA, I started the process with my iPad2. After a while it appeared to have stalled, but I had to go out, so I left it, assuming it would be done when I got back. As it turns out, when I returned my iPad was asking to be connected to iTunes via USB. When connected, I got the message that it needed to be restored...
So, I've now tried restoring it about 4 times - the progress bar on the iPad gets about 2/3 of the way and then stalls for a long time, and then I get a message in iTunes that the restore didn't work. I've disconnected all other USB devices. I've rebooted my iMac. My iMac is fully up to date (OS, iTunes, etc)
Any ideas what I can do to get my iPad restored so I can then restore from backup and retry the iOS update (connected to the iMac this time)?

ScottI sure disagree with the journanlists reporting Over The Air Updates working well.
We all have different experiences. I had the issue that you report when I upgraded to iOS 5. I eventually had to put my iPad in recovery mode to get the upgrade to complete. I did not have any issue with the iOS 5.0.1 update. I did not use OTA, I used USB, so my Mac downloaded the entire 750 MB iOS file and I was still updated in less than 10 minutes. The OTA update should normally also be about 10 minutes as the file is a 50 MB incremental update. I do not think that many folks had your issue because we are not being swamped by reports of the issue here in the ASC as we would be if the issue was widespread. So the journalists seem to have it right, it appears to have gone smoothly for most folks, however they updated. -
phone wont progress from icloud transfer

It sounds like you are restoring your previous phones backup to your new one, but the progress bar appears to be stuck. According to this article:

the process can take from several minutes to an hour to complete. The amount of time depends on the number of files on the device and whether you're erasing, updating, or upgrading your iOS.
If the device has stil not finished the process, I would recommend resetting the device with the following article:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
If that does not get the phone booted back to the Lock Screen so you can get to your Home Screen, I would next try putting the device into recovery mode and attempting another restore from that backup:

Anyone know how to restart the phone in this state?
Hold down the top power button and the round button on front at the same time until it shuts off. I then had to Connect to itunes via usb. and had to do a system restore. That fixed it for me.

A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete. -
i tried updating my iphone 4s to the ios 7 but it said error with the firmware now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and i have no idea how to fix it any suggestions??
Try Restoring it 3 times in a row and see if that works.
If not that error can indicate one of two things: Your iPhone was at one time jailbroken, had the iOS version rolled back, or ran an unauthorized beta and if none of those things are true it is a hardware error. -

I would next try connecing the iPhone to the wall charger that came with it, and resetting the device:

If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
When the reset is done, it will still be in recovery mode, so connect it to iTunes and continue with the restore.

hi i took my wifes phone and backed up on her computer , then i deleted everything from her phone and made restore from my laptop (my old phone ) , now I want to restore wifes phone back but on her itunes can't see her backup (only see mine). please help

I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail. That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine. Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook. I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
You may also want to make sure his phone number is deactivated for your Apple ID:
