My phone got wet and screen is black, please help?!!
My phone got wet and the screen turned black after a while, it is still on because I receive phone calls and can answer them by swiping the screen where I know to swipe. The phone rings and I can even have a conversation on it. The screen is black however, I cant see anything else or do anything else. I'm going to take the phone to apple tomorrow to see if its repairable. Any suggestions??? Its a 4s, have it for about 4-5 months...
Try resetting the phone:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Get a new phone. Water damage is unpredictable. You can try an independent shop and have they try to diagnose the problem, but you have a 3 year old phone that is out of warranty and no longer updateable. You deserve something better.

I went out to join the amazing race challenge in my work. When we were almost to the end, the weather changed and it started raining. I put my phone my my backpack and got wet along with my other stuff. By the time I got home, there's no more sound and it keeps showing "SLIDE TO TURN OFF". Then the next day, I can't charge anymore.
You might consider a case like Otterbox or something similar for active events in outdoor use. They not only give good protection against drops but also protect from water. It's not meant to swim with take underwater pictures but really good for rain splatter or the situation you were in. Good luck.

What beeping sequence are you getting?
1 beep - No RAM
2 beep - Incompatible RAM
3 beep - Faulty RAM
4 beep - No good boot image in ROM
5 beep - Failed processor
With an Air you will have to take it to an Apple store genius bar to address any of those issues. -

my iphone 4s got wet with nesquick. I cleaned the phone, and notised that the sound was not clear anymore; then I tried to turn it off but soon I realized that I can't do that because it turns on immediatly. What should I do? for now I put the phone in rise. hope it will help :/

I dropped my iPhone 3G in water, but it was only submerged for about 45 seconds. I got it out, turned it off and took out the sim card. I quickly dried it with a towel in put it in uncooked rice for over 24 hrs. It turns on now and the screen is normal, but I cannot do anything with the touchscreen. It's like it's not working anymore, but I see no damage. Do I need to pop it open and clean the logic board and stuff, or do I need to replace the entire screen? It's a used phone, so I have no warranty anyways. Any help would be appreciated!
So, my phone that does work is toast?? Sound works, nothing is cracked, still charges and turns on and off, screen display works, there is just a small watermark in the top right corner and the touchscreen acts as if there is no 'connection'. So, it's not toast. I just need to know if it'd be safe to buy a new screen or if I could just pop it open and clean it out.

I pod touch got wet and screen wont respond
My daughters Ipod touch got some sports drink on it. we immediately put it in rice over night and then sat it in the sun the next day. It will sync to Itunes, the screen comes up in full color but it wont respond other than putting it to sleep and turning it on and off. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!First off, it should have remained in the rice for a few days. And sitting it in the sun could have damaged the device. Put it back in the bag of rice, but my bet is its cooked.

What options do I have to save my phone?
Well, since you tried to turn it on while wet the chances of recovering anything have just been reduced. But try putting it in a plastic bag with uncooked rice for several days to draw the moisture out of it. You may then be able to restore it or turn it on. If you've been syncing regularly, backing up to your computer or iCloud, or have enabled Photo Stream your pictures are safe. If you have done none of these things they are lost unless the phone recovers after drying out.

Hp Compaq Presario 2100 screen stays black, please help!
My laptop, which is a HP Compaq Presario 2100, stopped working. I'll try to explain the best I can what's going on:
When the laptop is plugged in and then turned on, all of the lights on it will turn on, all of them except for the power indicating light. The screen remains completely off, and it doesn't sound like the hard drive is running, just the fans. The CD drive and floppy drive both work. The weird part is that the things that do turn on only stay on for about 10-20 seconds and then everything shuts down. And no matter how long the laptop is plugged in the charge light never turns on and the battery in the laptop never gains any power. I can tell this because this particular battery comes out and has a manual indicator of power on its side.Try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281 and if that doesn't work, then make an appointment with the Genius Bar at the Apple store to have the hardware checked.

You can try and put it in a bag of uncooked rice for 5 days or so, but don't get your hopes up. If that doesn't work, you get an out of warranty replacement or buy a new phone.

So my phone got wet the other day. I dried it out completely, but the touch screen still isn't working. Is there anything I can do short of getting a new phone? Anything that can be done at the nearest Verizon store? I am one of three phones on our plan and I am trying not to need to get a new phone before our contract expires next month.

We're sorry to hear that your phone isn't working. It's very important to have a functioning touchscreen! Let's explore your options OK? If the phone is taken to a store, troubleshooting can indeed be done. The store representative can even contact us while you're there. Do you have insurance on the device? Or, do you maybe have a prior vzw device that can be activated until the upgrade is available? You can also check your My Verizon account to see if your line( or another line on the account) is eligible for an upgrade. VZW always has options for you.
