My phone has a restricted network message
My iphone 4 - bought second hand - has suddenly stoppped making or recieving calls and messages.
I've had it for 4 months and it's on the Orange network, I have a SIM only card and it's been working perfectly fine until 2 days ago.
Now I get a 'network restricted' message and in the 'about' tab it says 'phone not allowed'.
I took it into an EE store and the guy tried my SIM in another phone and the card worked, he said it must be the phone and told me to contact Apple.
Has the phone blocked itself?
Sounds like you're the victum of a common UK scam...buy iPhone with insurance...report it lost/stolen...collect insurance...sell phone to unsuspecting buyer(you)...insurance company requests phone be blacklisted...you're left holding the empty bag.

we have 2 I phones and when I tried to sync my I phone to the computer for a back up(have only 1 account) i lost all my phone contents and my phone has all the contacts/messages etc of my daughter's phone. I had ok'd to "restore settings" in the process. How do get all the contents/contacts of my phone back?
Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books. -
Hi. Bought recently iphone5 from singapore. but the one who sold us the phone has set restriction. now i cannot download any apps from my itunes. I dont know the restriction code so i think i need to reset my phone. does resetting remove the unlock?
You need to restore it with iTunes or wipe it from the phone itself... Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Either of these will create a factory fresh phone, thus removing the restrictions. Note that ALL user data will be wiped.

My 3G iPhone has stopped sending text messages to one specific number. It says its sent but it does not arrive. Any ideas?
Are you seeing this problem when sending a SMS, MMS or iMessage? Does it go away if you disable MMS or iMessage in Settings > Messages?
Make sure the phone number that you aren't able to send texts to has an area code.
If that doesn't help, take a look at this Apple doc -> iOS: Troubleshooting Messages -
Phone has lost vodaphone network and is now on O2 which i am not a customer off
does anyone know why my blackberry would stop being on a vodaphone network which it has been on for year and now show as an o2 network, i am now not able to make phone calls as always showing as sos
thanksFrom my post on what seems like the same issue (found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/21087892#21087892)
Take the following steps:
1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!
Hope this helps! -
Hi. I tried using Pinterest tonight and got a message that I have a bot in my network..what is this, and how do I get rid of it? My phone has been running really slow too on Safari (but not on Google Chrome)
Google changed their menu bar. Firefox hasn't used Google for the default homepage since the Firefox 3.6 versions. Firefox 4+ versions use '''about:home'''.<br />

After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 from 7.1 over the air, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later. My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it, as well as an arrow pointing at the Itunes logo. After holding the sleep button down or even doing the hard reset the same screen comes up on my phone regardless of whether it is plugged in or not to my computer. I have turned my computer off and on again. It is plugged in and charging as it's battery life is very short. I also reset my modem and the same error message pops up. The only option on my computer when my phone is plugged in is to restore it. My firewall also allows Itunes through it. I have literally tried everything I know being someone who knows very little about technology. I also do not want to hear about how the update worked for other people. My phone has been in recovery mode for 5 hours at least now so it will just make me more frustrated if a bunch of people post about how the update worked for them.
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

how can i get it out of recovery mode?
Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...
Restore from Backup > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
If the issue persists...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first... -
My phone has recently stopped sending iMessage even though it has wifi also it has stopped automatically sending it as an SMS when iMessage isn't working I have to manually get it to send as a text message. I haven't changed any settings. Any suggestions?
Try the following:
Go to Settings > Messages > iMessages > disable
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
let it do it's thing and reset.
Then go to Settings > Messages > iMessages > enable
You'll then have to go back to your Wifi and re-enter your router credentials. -

With my i phone 4 , the Push notifications doesn't work for apps like (fb viber , whatsapp etc ) it only works for the official apps like message even when im using the phone, has this probleme with the iOs 6.0.1 and also with the iOs 6.1
This isn't an issue. Notice the screen prior to the one that shows usage has an iCloud section and a Manage Storage button. For this button to activate ios needs to download a few kb from icloud. Switching back to this screen forces ios to download those few kb.

How would I be able to pull up all of the text messages tat were in my phone over the course of 2 years and back them up to my computer since my phone has a broken screen and can no longer read the mesages.
If the messages are stored on the device and you can power the device up you can use the application posted at https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/770529 , the application has a screen capture option and you can use the screen as a guide to install MyBackup from Market or a number of backup apps from Market and then you can run the applications and backup data to your SD Card to restore to the replacement device.
