My phone has caught fire (iphone 4)

Il y a 10 jour mon téléphone a pris feu sans aucune raison. Ce téléphone a brulé mon mobilier risquant de blessés mon fils et a failli brûler ma femme qui était en train de l’utiliser. Apple ne veut pas me dédommager et m’accuse d’avoir endommagé l’appareil.
Est-ce que quelqu'un s'est déjà retrouvé dans ma situation ? Si oui, quelles procédures avez-vous engagées ?
english : Ten days ago, my phone caught fire for no reason. It has burned furnitures in my house, which could have hurt my son and my wife who was using it. Apple doesn't want to compensate me for the damages on my furnitures and is accusing me of damaging the phone.
Does anyone around here is in my situation ? If so, what have you done ?
Contact Apple using www.apple.com/support/contact if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. I can just about guarantee you that they will want to hear about this, as Apple is always interested in the safety and health of their customers.

My iPhone cable caught fire. What steps can I take?
I mostly charge my phone via my laptop. The cable has been acting up the past week or so, (computer said USB disabled, etc.) I also noticed some bunching near the end. Decided it was probably time for a new cord, but didn't think much else of it.
Tonight I stepped away from my computer for a few minutes. When I returned, I noticed the cable had melted, and the now exposed wires were red hot. Next thing I know they catch fire. I removed the cable from the area immediately, and it cooled down.
Definitely not trying to play the blame game (Have had three Apple cables do something similar before, (2008 MBP charger, iPad 2 cable), though they never caught fire), but this could have been so much more serious, had I not been around. I've already ordered a new cord, but am a)frustrated I had to order a new one in the first place, (my phone is less than a year old), b) want to avoid this happening in the future.Did you call Apple about this before replacing the cord on your own?
a) If the phone is under a year old it is under warranty.
b) This sounds like something Apple would like to know about. Note there is a "Contact Us" link at the bottom of all these pages.
c) They may have hints on how to avoid this in the future. -
POWER ADAPTER HAS JUST CAUGHT FIRE!!!
While sitting using my 15' powerbook g4 i noticed a strange burning smell. At closing the screen i realized what it was, the power adapter had caught fire at the part where the cable enters the brick.
This could have been disastrous if i wasn't here when it happened. The adapter hasn't moved much in the 3 years I've had it, only 3 times i think so it couldn't be ware and tare.
Has anyone else come across this problem and have you had any luck getting a replacement from Apple? Typically my apple care has just ran out 2 weeks ago!!
OwbSame problem here, a few weeks ago. There was a burning smell, then smoke from the joint between the cable and the cable head (with the green/orange light on it). Called Apple, and the chap i got on the phone, when asked, stated no, they don't have any policies on their products catching fire once the 1 year warranty has passed. I rang again and got another chap who seemed a little less sure of himself, so I went at him a bit down the phone, and managed to get an engineer in Sweden?? Eventually they offered to replace the cable.
I guess if your prepared for the phone bills, just keep ringing and shouting until one of the goons on the other end will do something about it. -
I bought a new Iphone 4s at walmart with my at&t upgrade and today, it caught fire, melted a hole in the battery and melted the screw connectors on the bottom of the phone and the back came off.. Im not sure what to do on this deal.. Im now trying to get it to work and dont want to spend 500.00 on a new phone when this one messed up for no reason.. Luckly it just burnt one of my fingers.. where is was it could had burnt my house down very easy.
<E-mail Edited by Host>If safe, carefully slide iPhone into a plastic bag, double bag it for sure. Use items like pencils or kitchen utensils so you do not touch it. Make Genius reservation, and take it to Apple for replacement under Warranty.

The phone has given me a 1015 error - unknown error has occured, during the firmwre comfirmation.
We have tired the tricks with holding the home button down for 10 secs etc, we have tried installing a number of different versions of itunes, but no joy.
We did do a backup of the phone before trying to sync it but can't re-install that either.
I have been told the only way to get the phone functional again is to re-jailbreak it, do a back up of that and try to udpate back to the apple IOS from there but the phone is not responding.
It turns on, and is in emergancy mode only, wehn I put hte sim in it's not recognising it, all it wants is to connect to itunes, which it wont do when you try.
I don't know what to do try next, at a dead end here.
I don't want a jail broken phone, I just want it to function like its meant to but at this stage I will settle for a phone that works at all.
Any suggestions,,,,,,,,, anyone??
Thanks for reading and considering my problem.Have latest version of iTunes installed and running. Also make sure you have internet access working and can access Apple websites. Also, make sure you don't have any entries in your hosts file referring to gs.apple.com....If your not sure about how to do that, go ahead and do the rest first. You can come back to that later.....Plug in phone. Put phone in DFU mode.(google put iphone in DFU mode for instructions) Then restore the phone in iTunes by highliting your device in the left column and click on the Restore button. The latest iOS version is 4.3.3. That's what iTunes will restore it to. When it's done restoring, iTunes will ask if you want to restore from a backup or setup as a new phone. I would use the Setup as a New Phone option. Once it's done, you should have a clean install of the iOS and an operating phone, as long as there are no hardware issues with it.

I have an iphone 3g I tried to down load an app for netflix and it said I need to have ISO 5 but my phone has ISO 4.2.1 and when I try to update it on my computer through itunes I get message saying I have current version how or what can I do do to get an app the lets me watch netflix on my iphone 3g .Is there an sulision to my problem? Thank you for your help are you aware of any apps that will work the iso 4.2.1 system that will let you watch movies on the phone. Also I tried to down load something else the other day and got message that Safari wont let you open this is ther any to see if i have the latest safari on my phone?

I can not sync my IPhone to My Imac. I have the latest version of ITunes on my Imac. I have tried reseting my phone (3), changing ports. Nothing works. I was thinking maybe my phone has the earlier version of ITunes but I can't update it.

No in order to backup to iTunes, you would need to unlock your phone.
In order to import pics to your computer you would need to unlock your phone. -
After updating my Iphone 4s to os 7.1.1 from 7.1 over the air, my phone went into recovery mode. Yet when I try to restore it with Itunes on my windows 7 laptop it says the network connection has been reset. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network is active, or try again later. My phone has the itunes logo and charger symbol on it, as well as an arrow pointing at the Itunes logo. After holding the sleep button down or even doing the hard reset the same screen comes up on my phone regardless of whether it is plugged in or not to my computer. I have turned my computer off and on again. It is plugged in and charging as it's battery life is very short. I also reset my modem and the same error message pops up. The only option on my computer when my phone is plugged in is to restore it. My firewall also allows Itunes through it. I have literally tried everything I know being someone who knows very little about technology. I also do not want to hear about how the update worked for other people. My phone has been in recovery mode for 5 hours at least now so it will just make me more frustrated if a bunch of people post about how the update worked for them.
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

I am getting error (-1) while updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1. The phone has gone into a recovery mode. Restore fails every time at "restoring the firmware" stage. Striped bar remains for a long time, then shows "error (-1)" and the restore fails. I have been doing it for last 12 hours. Help!
Thanks for your reply Michalo. I am in India and here Apple care does not work on Sundays. I have been without my phone for the entire day. Perhaps tomorrow will bring some respite. There is not solution to "error (-1)" on any forum it seems. I found one forum which suggested use of Tiny Umbrella. Any idea about that?

I have had to update my iphone 4 in itunes and it has now come up with a message, itunes has found a iphone in recovery and needs to restore it.
I dont want to do this as I cannot loose all my pics on my phone!
My phone is now not working and has an itunes symbol on it with a usb cord!!!!
Please help!!Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, try this a few times if necessary. If still problem, you may have to just Restore your iPhone to get it working. In the future sync your iPhone with iTunes routinely and when it contains important data, iCloud when set correctly will do this for you continuously.

You generally get that error code on a jailbroken phone ?
