My phone iPhone 4S doesn't charge

My iPhone 4S doesn't charge unless I turn it off. I have tried using other cables which hasn't resolved the issue. It has no problem charging to 100% when it's off but it is very inconvenient to have to turn it off to charge the phone.

No worries,try these ways.
1.Reboot your iPhone>>>>press the Home button and Power button at the same time for 10 seconds more or less.
2.Reset your iPhone as a new iPhone>>>>Setting--General--Reset--reset all the settings.

My iPhone 4S doesn't charge. I tried multiple connectors. I'm thinking my battery needs replacing. I had an appt today at the Genius bar. The Apple associate was a bit abrupt. She looked at the receptacle where the connector goes. Declared it corroded and offered to sell me a new phone. I said it doesn't look that bad and I believe it may be the battery and asked if there is way to test if it was my battery. She said "no", according to what I'm seeing the receptacle is damaged due to the corrosion I'm seeing.
I didn't have the time nor the patience to deal with her and left in disgust
I'm thinking about going to another Apple store to have it checked out.
Any thoughts on this matter?

You can go anywhere you want. The notes about your previous visit and diagnosis will remain in Apple's records. Notes are attached to the serial number on the iPhone that was inspected.

anyone can help me...my iphone 4s is not charging and the charging icon remain 1%...and there is a time it will come on and i will try to reset the settings but the problem it doesn't turn on once it dead.And i went to the apple store today and they said the charger connector or the charging port has been bent..they want me to pay 199 plus tax for another phone.Since i have this iphone 4s for 1 year and 2 months so it is very frustrating for me...So i decided not to buy another iphone..If i want to get another one not with apple anymore.So,when i got home,my wife try to make a research on the computer try to troubleshoot on our own because i cannot believe what the Apple manager told us "THE CHARGING COONECTOR HAS BEEN DAMAGED MAYBE BECAUSE i FORCED TO CHARGE EVEN IT DOESN'T FIT" it is a big insult for me because this is not my first phone..So my wife word hard for it and she keep on pressing the power button every 15 minutes..(10-15 seconds and it come on).And again i try to reset again its dead..I cannot turn back on....any advise?looks like apple wants only money and they are not trying there best to help there customer problem.

My question is if the port is damaged,How come the charge sign come ff when i charge...but if there is a chance that the apple logo come on the icon of the battery never change still 1% but it will last for a day..doing phone calls and everything?Please help!

tmo@ The battery life on smartphones vary based on different factors. Are you using wifi and bluetooth constantly? Please inform us of which iPhone are you using, also. Check the software and make sure it has been updated. Also, use the data reader to see how many apps are running. After all troubleshooting has been completed, we may need to send out a replacement device if it still is not holding a charge

Hi,
I have an iphone 4g, it was working without any hitches from the day i bought it, but all of a sudden today when i try to charge my phone it doesn't charge neither from pc or main switch board, i tried out the main switch board as well but nothing didn't change, even when i plug it to the pc itunes doesn't recognise the the phone, what's wrong with my phone please help me out.
I will appreciate if anyone could help me out as soon as possible!

Do a soft reset - Hold your Sleep Button and Home Button for more than 10secs until you see the Apple logo. After restarting, try charge it again.
If this does not work, do a Hard Reset - go to SETTINGS/GENERAL/RESET/RESET ALL SETTINGS. Try charge it again.

My iphone 4 will not charge when plugged into my car stereo. has the hard wire for it. It worked with my ipod but not the iphone, it say acc. not optimized?

Which iPod model?
Some iPod models can be charged via firewire in addition to being charged via USB. If the car stereo connection charges via firwire, it won't work with the iPhone. And if the car stereo does not include the "made for iPhone" certifcation, it may work but it isn't optimized or fully compatible or not compatible at all with an iPhone. Being compatible with an iPod does not automatically equate to being compatible with an iPhone.

My iphone 3g doesn't charge

I've had this iPhone 3gs for quite a few years now, I use the 4G as a phone but would love to keep the old one as an iPod etc etc...
The big problem is that even when it's fully charged it goes off after a few minutes, and it happens all the time continuously.
Can someone please help me with this issue?

Sorry I cant help but have the same problem. My 3g just went black and am unable to turn it on in any way shape or form. have tried the button pressing, the pressing both buttons, then releasing the top one till itunes recognises the phone....everything!
Would be quite willing to have a go at repairing it myself if I had the slightest idea what was wrong with it!
your help would be most appreciated......

My iPhone 5 doesn't charge with new iTunes

I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro and I plugged my iPhone 5 in so I could sync it with iTunes. The phone icon shows up and my phone says it's connected and charging, but less than a minute later, it's not charging anymore. My phone's name appears at the top of the iTunes screen but nothing happens when I click on it. Meanwhile, my phone's sync icon is steadily spinning even though no information is being traded. I can't tell if it's just my phone acting wonky, iTunes being stupid, or OS X screwing everything up. The only time my phone actually charges with my computer now is when I plug it up while the computer is closed.
I'm expecting to get my iPhone 6 plus very shortly so I'd like to have this problem solved before it comes so I don't have the same problem with it.
Does anyone have a clue where the problem is and how to fix it?

I can upload only when using a fake charger and the phone off.. when i turn it on he work well.. .. what can I do?

Sounds like a bad cable...can you try another charger and cable from a friend? Ot take all parts to an Apple store and have them tested, that is free.

IPhone 4 doesn't charge when on

yesterday my iPhone 4 showed a pop-up displaying "charging is not supported with this accessory" when I tried to charge it. Then I took out the wire and tried putting it back in but nothing happened.
After doing some research I found that replacing the dock connector of the phone was the best solution. So I got that replaced today but the phone only charges when its off (well if it shows that red battery sign). When the phone is on and at the springboard and i try to connect it to the computer or to a charger, nothing happens at all. Ive tried three different wires and two plug sockets, yet nothing.
*EDIT* I just noticed the battery % increased when its plugged in but it doesnt tell me that its plugged in and I still cannot use it on iTunes
Is there a way of fixing this? Or at least is there a way to connect to iTunes if the connection doesnt work?

The battery may be depleted. Connect it to power (a wall charger is preferable, if you use your computer make sure it will not go into sleep mode) and charge it for at least 30 minutes. After this time, while it is still connected to power, Reset it (hold down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red Off slider, wait for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons). Might take several tries at resetting. After it awakens fully charge it.

Iphone 4s doesn't charge after upgrade to ios7

My iphone 4s stopped charing after upgrade to ios7. I thought this was caused by dirty charging port ,, but it isn't.
I connect to my wall charger and it starts charging, but after a couple minutes it stops. The same issue when connected to my work PC. It only charges when connected to my mac !
I tried several home chargers and the problem remains the same.
I have this issue on both our household iphone 4s's ,!

Same issue...ios7 upgrade...battery wouldn't hold charge...now it is dead...phone will not turn on or reset...

Decades ago used to man a technical support phoneline. Loads of problems with external hard drives. The outstanding solution was "Is it plugged in? Is the power outlet switched on?".........

my Iphone 4 fell in water. after that I faced some problems with both hardware and software that was solved after two hours but when the charge was over I couldn't charge it again...connecting the port to computer or plugged in nothing happens and it is not charging

The problem could be anything. The easiest thing to do is open it up and replace the battery. They are like 12 bucks online and really easy to replace your self. If its anything else like the charging port, it is possible, but takes a while to replace. Other than that, take it to an iphone repair place.

Iphone 5 not properly charging

In the last few days I've come across this, and I'm not the only one either, my iPhone 5 doesn't charge properly.
Every time I plug the charger in, it shows that it's charging and when I come back to it, it's not fully charged, but it shows it is.
Other times too I plug the charger in and it doesn't charge but says it's full. I.E this morning I put it on charge with 15% and showed the icon on the battery that said it was full.
Can anyone help me before I take a trip to the Genius Bar again?
