when I turn the phone on it shows a picture of the usb cable with an arrow pointing up to the iteuns logo.
Itried holding the top most button for the red slide to appear but it doesnt, it just turns off. I tried holding the home button while plugging in the usb cable but no recovery mode option...

What version of itunes?
What kind of computer and what USB ports or hubs are you using?

[solved] NFS broke since update. OpenElec can't see shares

I cant figure out how to resolve the upgrade to NFS since the recent update. The service seems to be running just fine, but i can't get OpenElec on my Raspberry Pi to see the shares. In my export file on Arch I have
/mnt/hdd/Music 192.168.1.0/24(rw,all_squash,insecure,anonuid=0,anongid=0)
# this hasnt changed.
generally, i can use the OpenElec UI to browse through and see all the mount points and what not. But its not working. I ssh'd into the pi and tried to mount that with
$ mount -t nfs 192.168.1.141:/mnt/hdd/Music /music
returns
mount: RPC Remote system error - Connection refused

So it looks like the ports open, but i cant get through. This WORKED until i did the update, so there are no firewalls or anything. Must be some config changes or a missing service or something.

Yup. that did it. to reiterate for future peeps. Totally stopping, disabling, enabling and restarting the service was the key:
systemctl stop nfs-server.service
systemctl disable nfs-server.service
systemctl enable nfs-server.service
systemctl start nfs-server.service

Phone works worse since updated to 4.0.1

I recently upgraded to 4.0.1 at the advise of ATT My phone locked up and shut down twice after the upgrade. nothing works as well as it did, calls are dropped more easily, and applications are disconnected where they worked before (pandora and MLBL feeds)

Iphone 4 wont sync to itunes anymore. Itunes opens then a message comes up saying I need to restore it. I want to avoid doing this as I've noticed some of my purchases since updating itunes are missing from computer but they are on my phone.

I have reset my phone, put the latest updates on itunes and iphone and thought it might work then, but no luck. I am trying to avoid restoring it as I dont want to loose the data I have purchased that is missing off my itunes since I updated that. I'm not sure how to contact itunes to get my data put back on my itunes on computer. All my purcahsed data from itunes still comes up on my phone as it hasnt been able to sync to the update. DOes anyone know how to contact itunes to have bought data re-put back on. It comes up in my itunes acocount with the date and purchase number but these items are missing from my itunes purcahsed items. Weird?
I am on an imac. Is there anyway I can get around the issue of syncing again or should I just restore once I have contacted itunes about them deleting my paid for items! I feel very ripped off, its like buyoing something from target and having the manager come to your house and retrieve it! lol

Other times the Wi-Fi connection works fine and it check e-mail or other within few seconds. The connection problems seems to be intermitted
This issue never happened before with IOS 5 since I bought the new phone in Oct 2011.

We suffered the imap.gmail.com server problem After an IoS 6 upgrade. The simple solution is to delete the problem account, shut down the iPad, start up again and reenter the account. Everything comes back normally. Good Luck everyone!

Since it told me to update, I updated to 10.7.
Then when I plugged in the phone again, it gave the same message that I need to update itunes.

I found whats happening at least partialy. My 2 iphones that wouldnt participate in shared library and ipad2 had false logins in music setting.
I tried log out under music, and log in, and it said it can't log in.
same time, funny thing happened, app store is also unreachable.
I only restored in itunes my ipad2 for testing (it was suggested by apple via apple support chatline) and it worked, I can connect to shared lib only with ipad.
Alas, it partialy downloaded my library???? and it had errors in it.
I restarted router, itunes server, ipad (resetting network settings and loosing all my 20 or so connections I have for different places!) and ipad works.
My wife's iphone managed to log on into music settings to home sharing, but it only downloaded partialy itunes library. I am not restoring it since Id loose a lot more!
My own iphone4 isn't managing to connect into home sharing.

It has nothing to do with poor signal areas as they are the same areas I was in with the same phone before the software update! i have even sent for a replacement phone and received a reconditioned phone (after paying excess charge - JOKE!) and the same problem occured when I updated again. I cannot believe there is no downgrade as this iOS 5 is a shambles and to be honest, I see very little difference in terms of apps and photos so i have no idea why apple are recommending this upgrade!
Is there anything I can do to improve the fact that nobody can hear me on the phone when I speak?!! Or are apple going to insist I keep a phone that is of no use to me if I can't actually use it as a PHONE!

Thanks! I forgot to add, I have debonded and rebonded the bluetooth in car and phone and have carried out 3 restores on the phone in my ITunes. All to no avail. I have also jsut spent £40 on a lead from Ford that has made no difference too! I went to them today to request a software upgrade on my car as I though perhaps the lack of connectivity in the car was down to the car being behind the iOS5 software but was informed there was no need for an upgrade and this problem is purely an apple problem! Is there any way around the downgrade? Or are apple gong to resolve this problem at all??

Since updating my iphone 4S to ios 7.1 my phone will no longer ring and apps do not have sound. I have made sure the do not disturb is not turned on and have also gone into Accessibility and made sure sound is not off there. I have done a reboot and also a reset of the settings. When I set my ring tone, the sample tone plays, however, the phone only vibrates when I get a call. The apps also do not have any sound. Everything was working fine until the update.

I am positive the half moon isn't there. That one caught me once before so now I am careful to check.

NO. There is no way to downgrade your iPhone OS back to iOS6. Apple makes downgrades of their mobile OS not possible.
If you can, the only thing you can do is upgrade your Mac's OS X operating system.

Does the device get any signal?
Sounds like the device may have had a hardware failure. If it is out of warranty, the only option is the Out of Warranty replacement.
AppleCare is only an option if it is still under the original warranty.
