My phone is deleting my contacts at random. one minute ill have a contact than I'll message them and than my phone deletes them and its just a number. how can i stop this and get my contacts back?
since getting my new phone i had to send it out for repair. after only 2 weeks of having the phone. i got a loner phone and restored my phone to the loner, but than a few days after getting this loner phone my phone started deleting my contacts. i couldn't find them and i know i had them. than i turned off my iCloud for contacts thinking that would help. it never. my phone started deleting numbers as i would use them, like i would select a contact message them than right after i hit send that contact got deleted. i figured it was just the loner phone, but since getting my phone back and restoring it it too is deleting my contacts. any way to stop this and get my contacts back?
It appears that you are using iCloud to sync your contacts, is that correct? Other than turning off iCloud for contacts and then turning it back on again, what other troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Try upgrading your Mac to the newest version of OS X Mavericks, and try upgrading your iPhone and iPad to the newest version of iOS 7.

When you quit firefox with tabs and windows open it "remembers". When you start Firefox it tries to restore the tabs and windows you had open.

When you are the Family Sharing organizer, purchases are billed to your account unless the family member making purchases has an iTunes Gift Card or iTunes credit on their account. The attached article has more information on how this process works.

What I may suggest in your situation would be to discontinue the Family Sharing and use iCloud calendar sharing. Using this method keeps your accounts separate but allows you to still share your calendar.

how can I stop my imported music from going into playlists? and how can I transfer playlists to my library?
Imported files will go into any smart playlists that they qualify for. If new playlists are being created as you import folders then the folders contain m3u playolist files made by another application and iTunes is importing those too. You can search for and delete these before import, use http://albumbrowser.klarita.net/itfw.html instead of iTunes' Files > Add folder or use my script KillTopLevelPlaylists after the import.

I have a Mac Book Pro and downloaded the latest software OS X. Now whenever I start my computer, I have to wait for Windows Mac to do its thing. I checked and the "open at login" option is not checked. How can I turn this feature off? It's driving me nuts!!
All fixed Barry. When I went to restart my computer, the question was right there. Do you want to open Windows when opening. NOPE!!

when trying to play FarmVille with Firefox on my laptop, a window continually pops open with the title "about blank" then it closes, and pops open again right away. Because of this I can not manage to do anything on the FarmVille screen. This does NOT happen on my desktop machine. Both are running Windows 7 64 bit. How can I prevent the window from poping up all the time? Something is continually sending a request, but I do not know what it is. Thank you for any help or suggestions. By the way, Google Chrome works perfectly, but I prefer Firefox.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Over and over again: port scan TCP issuing from my mac. How can I stop this
I have set our router to send me an alarm whenever it is attacked.
I have noticed before that when I use Google Maps, Google Earth, Google's Picasa my mac attacks other IP's with a port scan TCP.
As of this morning my mac has startet to attack our router about every minute, and none of the above applications ist running.
How can I get this to stop?I'm experiencing a similar issue with some of the systems I support at a University. One was issuing tons of outbound ICMP requests to address 0.0.0.0 and another was port scanning a (seemingly) random name server. The systems themselves are behind a pretty aggressive firewall, as far as inbound traffic goes. Any thoughts?

I received an email from my power supplier,in it I must click on bill to view,it downloads and asks if I want to open it with internet explorer or something else,so I click on firefox.All it does is keeps opening loads and loads of tabs across the top,I've tried to close them at the last count I had managed to close over 1000 tabs but still cannot see my bill.my wife had the same she tried to open pdfs and got the same problem.So how can we view without problems files we receive in emails etc,and how do I get rid off this tab multipling itself? I am running windows xp and firefox 2.0 and when ever I go to upgrade to any version of firefox my book marks will quadruple and I have no idea as to why I have even tried to move my saved book marks onto a disk and it still will do the same thing. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. cw
I went into the profile folder and found these files but it will not allow you to delete them so now what do you do. I am wondering if I go in and search the hard drive and delete everything that has to do with bookmarks then try to down load the up grade and then load my book marks from a disk would that work? cw

Option to stay logged in will be stored in cookies. Delete the cookies for the email site (for details on doing that see the [[Deleting cookies]] article). When you next log into the mail site, deselect any option on the login screen that says something like"remember me" or "stay signed in".
