My phone is in recovery mode and doesn't turn on, what do I do?
I tried to back it up to my computer because I didn't have anymore iCloud storage space. It was supposed to upgrade but then went on upgrade mode and only thing I can do to get it off this mode is to connect it to iTunes and restore the phone to its original settings. I do not want to do that. I want my phone to turn on and it's ok if I'm not upgraded to ios7
Well, do as the diagram indicates: Connect your iPhone to your computer and restore via iTunes.

Apple thinks i have an older phone and need to throw it and buy their new iphone 6. if thats the case, here is my middle finger... am going with some other OSApple doesn't care if you buy a newer phone or not. Apple doesn't need your new iPhone purchase. There are millions of people that have properly working older iPhones that voluntarily upgrade.
Your device crashed, and it could have been caused by any number of root causes, many of them not controlled by Apple. Third party app, interruption of internet connection, interruption of power, etc.
If you came here to give the middle finger to Apple (childish behavior by the way), you're in the wrong place. Go to www.apple.com/feedback. -

i just tried updating my iphone 4 and now my phone is in recovery mode and i dont want to loose anything on my fone someone help please!!!!!
If its stuck in recovery mode then you have to restore it. Hopefully you had a recent backup on Icloud or on your computer that you can apply after restoring it. If so then you shouldn't loose your data.
Just connect it to Itunes and restore it. After it will promt you when your done to restore from backup or as new. If its on icloud unplug the phone and go through the intro screen till you get the same prompt. Sign into icloud and restore backup. -
My iPhone 5s is stuck in recovery mode and won't turn on, I've tried to restore and update it to iTunes and its finding my phone, but saying an error has occurred and won't work, the software is up to date, it just automatically switched itself off and when I try to turn it on, it shows the White background with the apple logo asif it's going to turn itself on but then switches off after a couple of seconds, what can I do? ive already taken it to a shop and he's looked at it, but said he can't fix it, thanks.
Visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store to get it checked. If they can't fix this, you'll have to pay the Out-Of-Warranty-Service fee to get a new replacement for a reduced price:

I have a 4S and just tried updating to the latest iOS version and my phone went into recovery mode and iTunes says I need to restore to factory settings. Anyone know how I can fix my phone without losing all my content?
You would only be able to restore to a backup to iCloud or iTunes:

I updated my iPhone with the new update..and then it turned off...instead of turning back on it tells me to plug it into iTunes..and when I do iTunes tells me that my phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored..is there anything I can do without restoring it?
Same thing happened here ~ tech guy at a local authorized Apple repair store said it had something to do with improper backup from which the restore would be made. Still have a phone that asks to be connected to Itunes but won't do anything else . . . frustrated.

Attempting to update Iphone. It gave me a picture that looks like it wants me to attatch the phone to the computer with my itunes. Noe itunes is tellime me my phone is in recovery mode and wants me to restore my phone before it can be used with itunes. should i do this? will I loose all my pictures/contacts/songs?
You don't have a choice. Anything that was on the phone is already gone. hopefully, you've been backing up on a regular basis. If you had iCloud backups turned on, the backups should be automatic.

Hi, are you doing it through Settings or via iTunes? If doing it through Settings, try plugging it in via USB and updating with iTunes. Hope this helps.
