My phone is linked to orange how to i get an unlock code
Hi - I've got an iPhone4 which is locked to orange, orange say they won't get me an unlock code as the phone isn't linked to my account [ I bought it off ebay ].
Can I get the network unlock code from Apple or do I have to go to some dodgy backstreet shop to be able to use another networks SIM in my phone?

Buy a pay as you go simcard and, make some calls with it so it is registered with Orange and then give them a call and ask for an unlock. It'll cost about £15 (in the UK at least) and takea couple of days, but will work with any carrier thereafter.

It's good to read Antoniad's post. It reassures me that I can use my new iPad as an international communication device which is the reason I purchased the thing. However, I called Verizon today (my provider of cellular data) who told me that I can't just pop in a SIM card as you suggested. He also said that he was from the "Pre-Pay" division of Verizon and he was certain that I couldn't do what I planned to do. I was extremely disappointed as I had called Apple prior to buying the iPad and I read the algorhythm on the website for choosing an iPad before purchasing. Those sources were quite specific and the information seemed clear. I would be able to use my iPad to communicate through cellular connections while traveling on the road, literally, abroad. I was told that I could pop in a data card wherever I was, just as you indicated in your message above, and voila I was good to go. The Verizon rep definitively rained on that parade, but said that I might be able to do this if I have a "Post-Pay" account, a different area of Verizon. I haven't had the chance to talk to this division yet, so I looked to Apple's Support for answers. Maybe I will find out that I can use my iPad as an international communication device while traveling on the road afterall, however, it appears I may need a different type of account (Post-Pay), something I was never warned about. Can I switch to this kind of account? I don't know. I have to find out. If you have any information about this issue, it would be good to share since I strongly suspect there are others who bought the iPad for the same purpose that I have.

Apple would not be able to help you even if your iPhone was not jailbroken. Unlocking is completely up to the carrier, and AT&T's polices are clear; you must be a current or former customer.
Sorry, but there is no way you can get the iPhone officially unlocked, and we cannot help with hacking the iPhone in these forums.

Only the carrier an iPhone was sold as carrier locked with can officially unlock the iPhone, or send the unlock request to Apple. -

What multiple people have experienced is that their
b firewall
is blocking the outbound communication of the PSA program when it attempts to connect to the internet. Currently having a Browser (like Internet Explorer) connection to the internet is not sufficient because some firewalls check the individual program and Photoshop Album must be specifically specified. The firewall then gives a response to the PSA program that there is no internet connection available and PSA sends the message that you see.
Therefore, I recommend that you check the documentation for your firewall to see how to specify that it allow Photoshop Album to initiate an outbound connection. This solution has worked for multiple people.

In the past, it has been a trend that resolving the firewall definition has resolved the problem for many people. Of course, I can't say that it is the solution for everyone - just for many.

I updated my IOS on my iPhone 4S and it locked up. I had to restore my phone and now iTunes will not go past the setup your phone screen even though the phone as been restored. How do I get iTunes to go past this screen so I can sync my phone again?
Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

And my iTunes sign in is also screwed up... It is underneath my friends email (the one with my backed up data on his Mac laptop) HOW DO I CHANGE THIS SO THAT I CAN DOWNLOAD APP's again...I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

Your only choice is to place the phone in DFU mode (search Google for instructions) and restore as a new device. You will lose all your data.
