Thanksif the thief is experienced and wipes the phone you're out of luck. this is a flaw with 'find my iphone' whats the point of it, if someone can just simply wipe the phone? lame. keep sending mesages to it. if/when they finally get through then you'll get an email saying so. then immediately after getting an email, track it again, its likely still powered on and you can locate it.

it is really important to meIf you signed up for Find my iPhone you should be able to track it, unless the thief has turned the phone off or removed the SIM card. Also, if the thief has restored the phone it will no longer work. Log into www.iCloud.com and see if you can see the device. If not, then there is nothing you can do but notify the police and change all of the passwords on things you had on the device. Sorry for your loss.

Thanks.Th einformation is stored in cache memory on the phone. The only way to get rid of it is to restore the phone as new and you will lose data and settings. Eventually the cache will be overwritten so just ignore it

If you set up icloud and turned on findmyiphone you can log into www.icloud.com and lock your phone from there. You can even see if you can track it.
