My phone is powered on but I am unable to get home screen nothing but a black screen?
I was using my iphone4 last evening on a phone call - hung up with that call and tapped the phone icon as I was going to see how long the last phone call lasted and when I tapped the phone icon my screen sort of dimmed and just sat there - so I tapped the facebook app to open - and it dimmed even more - I powered my device off and back on - now I can only get a black screen - even when I swipe across bottom of screen or swipe down screen for notifications? My battery I know was @ 100% as I was plugged into the wall charger while on the phone call.

I am sorry to hear about the device issue. Are you still able to hear notifications on the device even though the screen is black? Have you tried holding down the power and home button down at the same time to power cycle the device to see if the screen lights back up?

I updated my 3GS to the latest OS. iTunes was updated first, when iTunes finishes updating my phone a box pops up that says my phone is in recovery mode so I click the update button and it goes the whole update cycle again. I unplugged my phone after 4 cycles of updating but now there is NOTHING on my phone, not even the home screen just the itunes symbol . I've tried rebooting my phone but there is still nothing there. light on iphone4 flash will not turn off even when phone is powered down, now it is overheated and says not usable till cooled, but it won't cool. I'm afraid it will start a fire. Aside from breaking it, putting in in a metal pail in the yard, or putting it in a bucket of water, what can be done to keep it from setting a fire. It is so hot it burns my skin if i touch it, so bright, it hurts to look at, so hot there is now a warning that it is not usable till it cools down, but there is no way to cool it down.
more info, this happened after update to 7.0.2, and also wifi will no longer turn on since update. I took it in to apple store, it had one month left on warrenty, and they said that it would have had to get wet for this to happen. I thought that maybe it got wet through my jeans pocket in the rain or something so I didn't pursue it. Now of course, it is out of warranty by a month.

Time and date settings change when phone is powered down (not shut off)..
I recently installed the iOS 8 update and immediately noticed that the time and date settings would change when I powered down my iPhone. I did not turn off my phone, only clicked the button to power down or save power. I have tried all the fixes, suggestions, etc., but I am still having issues. In the power down state, I am able to receive phone calls or texts but when I go into my phone, the time and date will be off. It stops from the moment I click the button to power down the phone. Please don't get this confused with turning off the phone completely. This happens when I click the button for power down or power save, however it is described.
So, how do I fix it? Is the app/software for the clock the problem? Is the battery distribution the problem? For some reason, in power down mode, the clock is not receiving constant power in order to keep accurate time. It stops the moment I click the button. Any suggestions? fixes, etc. I could try. When my phone is powered on and not in use all of a sudden the Samsung Galaxy 5 then Samsung and Verizon logo comes on tell me to check my battery cover, I have checked it and it is secure but it still continues to happen all day long. Has this happened to anyone else?

Just check the box that says do not show again when it pops up. That should Stop the pop ups all the time.

My S5 has been very buggy, likes to freeze up , lags , drains battery in about 4-5 hours, loses data connection in "Good Signal" areas ( drops down to 3g and 1x data or says 4g lte but Web pages fail to load , say no data connection). Camera has also crashed on me twice already. -

About a month ago my phone started randomally powering off. The phone is fine while it is plugged into the charger, but as soon as i disconnect it and try to do anything with the phone, it powers off. Then is wont stay on at all. I figured it was the battery, so I purchased a new one, same problem. I dont have an upgrade until July, has anyone had this problem? Frustrated!!!!
I did. It ended up being the Advanced Task Killer application was causing the issue. Verizon suggests removal of any task killer applications.

My HP Envy h8-1417c Powers up, but nothing shows up on the screen
When I power up my Envy the green light comes on, everything sounds the way it normally does, but nothing appears on the screen. This has happened before but I didn't address it at the moment, went out of town and returned with it working just fine. Not sure what the problem can be. Please help!

I put songs onto my IPhone 4, and they show up under the "On This Phone" section in itunes, but when I go to play the songs on my phone, they aren't there. How can I fix this?
When you look at your iPhone, are you looking in the Music app or in the iTunes app? Be sure you are looking in the Music app, and look in the Songs category. If your songs are not here, you may want to try syncing your information again through iTunes. To do this, uncheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync in the bottom right corner of iTunes, and then recheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync again.

G5 dual 2ghz. Been unplugged for a while. Powers up but no video or power to usb keyboard. Boots up fine in safe mode, restart into normal mode ok. After shutdown, back to same issue. What's happening?
I keep seeing people ask and the advice to replace if it has been unplugged, but really have nothing to confirm that from my experiences.
My experience is that a weak or dead battery can cause much more than date and time issues.
I have seen it time and time again.
Deal with used machines and you will quickly learn....
I'll give no "recipe" or set list of symptoms, but the range of irregularities that can occur make it a quick and easy first line of troubleshooting, especially when the machine has been off the mains for a few months.
Why fight mysterious maladies and troubleshoot with the knowledge that the PRAM battery is beyond it's useful life.
Maybe they recharge?
Not likely. They are chemically nasty, disposable, one way discharge batteries.
They aren't Lithium-ion batteries -
i carnt hear my message tone,the sound it makes when the phone locks and opens,also i am unable to hear music when playing from my phone but my ringtone and alarm tone work.Ive made sure the silent button is not on,and the volume button on the side of the phone is just showing it blank instead of it going up and down.To try and fix this i have reset my settings and restored my phone,but now its just skipping the music i have purchased from itunes when in a docking station which is now another problem i have as well.Can anyone help????

It sounds like even though the Mute switch is not on, sounds are not making the, well, sound they should, and the volume buttons make a blank volume indicator appear on the screen that does not show the volume level.
I wanted to recommend a couple of things.
First, I would reset the phone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If that does not resolve the issue, then you may want to try backing up to iTunes, and restoring the iPhone again but this time do not restore the backup and set it up as new to see if the issue persists without the previous configuration.

Hi, I try to conect Mac Mini from 2009 with my HD Tv Samsung F 6400 . With Mini Dvi conection and adapter to HDMI input in TV I got picture but not sound! I have analog cable from the phones out from mac but imposible to conect to TV? Can you HLP?
You really need a newer Mac Mini with a true HDMI output, because that Mac Mini's DVI output does not support Audio.
You might try a 3.5mm to RCA adapter
from the Mac Mini's headphone jack to the TV's audio input,
but that would require being able to select the Audio input in the TVs menu while using it's HDMI input.
Optionally you could also use an external 2.1 Speaker System or patch the audio from the Mac Mini to your home stereo system to enhance that older Mac Mini's audio. -
