  • Tried to backup ibooks to PC using iTools, now iTunes will not open the backup folder and my iPad says that it's storage is almost full

It appears that iTools has backed up on the iPad as well, I tried manage storage from settings but all storage settings are not enabled. I downloaded iTools on my PC and pressed the backup on iBooks in applications, it created a folder on my PC that iTunes on the PC cannot read. I stopped what was called backing up to local when I got a message from the iPad saying that storage was almost full.
So how do I 1- repair the iPad storage
2- backup the books in IBooks to my PC (they used to backup easily with iTunes but after the last update of iTunes they just would not)
    Thanks

No, nothing at all happens. Once clicked the 'circle' that suggest it is loading appears (if that makes sense) but no, nothing
    Many thanks.
Can you check something for me please?
Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
    Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

  • Had an update error now itunes will not recognise my phone and it is frozen

I tried to update my iphone 3g tonight and it encountered an error. Now itunes will not recognise the phone and it is frozen on a screen telling me to connect it to itunes. I have turned it on and off and it remains stuck. I have restarted my computer and itunes and no change.

Hey- just went through something similar - and I'm sorry I don't have the perfect answer... bc mine did what you are saying except my itunes did recognize that "an iphone" was connected and so it suggested that I do a recovery-mode restore on it and then I did a back up restore via itunes to get my most recent back up transferred to my iphone, and then it finally listed my phone as "xxx's iphone" in itunes.... here's the link I used: http://www.copytrans.net/blog/how-to-restore-iphone-after-updating-to-ios-7/  and I also used: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
I think what you are saying is that itunes doesn't even recognize that your iphone is plugged in - so you can't start the recovery process?  I DO know that in the hours of me muddling through the internet - googling this issue - that I did see other posts of those who plugged into itunes, and it didn't recognize their iphone, but they DID have suggestions on how to deal with the problem... while I don't have "the" solution, I wanted you to know I did see an answer out there - just skimmed past it as I was searching for mine... sorry I don't remember good luck!

Forgot the passcode to my ipad. When I went to restore it, it asked me if I wanted to update the software so I said yes. It then went into recovery mode, I'm guessing, with the connect to iTunes showing on the screen. Now iTunes will not recognize it so I have no idea how to get it back! Help!!

Then you will need to try restoring it once more:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

Depending on what iPhone you have when you get to the connect to wifi you should be able to activate your device over cellular data. Try doing a hard reset by holding the home circle button an power button until an apple pops up and the  go through the setup again and when you get to the wifi part a option should be setup with cellular data iPhone 4 and above should give this option sometimes doesn't like showing up that's why u have to do a hard reset first

    Got it.
For anyone else who may find this thread and has the same problem in the future, here's what I did.
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/11/03/fix-this-device-isnt-eligible-for-the-requested-b uild-error-in-itunes-when-updating-ios/
In case that link stops working, what I did was I exited iTunes, and then manually edited my hosts. The process is this:
Go to the hosts file. For Mac OS X this is located at: /etc/hosts or /private/etc/hosts and in Windows it is located at: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Open the hosts file with Administrative privileges so that changes can be made and saved (eg: sudo nano /etc/hosts)
Look for a line that resembles something like this:
    74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Put a # in front of that to comment it out, making it now look like this:
    # 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Save the hosts file (control + O)
Flush DNS cache and restart iTunes
Essentially, anything with a gs.apple.com address, put a # and a space in front of it. Then, AFTER that, I flushed my DNS cache. The article says to do that before, but I found doing it after manually editing the hosts was the only way to get it to work. Here's how:
Quit out of iTunes and open the Terminal in OS X Lion, then type:
    dscacheutil -flushcache
Then you should be good to go. Hope this takes you less time to fix than it did for me. Cheers!

  • Iphone stuck in recovery mode and can't recover because "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

I have an iPhone 4S and it has been stuck in recovery mode for whatever reason. I have tried using data recovery software that can turn my phone to normal mode but when it tries all my phone does in turn off and then on again, back into recovery mode. I can't use iTunes to recover my phone because it won't let me do it without updating and recovering the iPhone. When I do this it gives me the error "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"
Is there any other way I can restore my phone from backup without getting this error?

  • Device isn't eligible for the requested build - Stuck in recovery mode

    Hello;
My Iphone didn't catch any network coverage, so I thought I would restore it,
After trying to restore it to factory settings through Itunes, I keep getting this error "this device isn't eligible for the requested build".
I went through the internet for solutions, I've tried modifying my hosts in every single way I could imagine, but I still get these errors !
My device is an IPhone 5C it was running iOS 7.1.1 or 7.1.2 I can't remember, it's never been jailbroken either
I'm using a Mac computer to fix it.
It is now stuck in recovery mode, and any help would be welcomed !
    Thanks !
    ( Excuse my English, I'm french ! )

This computer has never been used to jailbreak any device, but I saw an article on the french apple website telling me to add a "#" in front of the gs.apple.com hosts, wich I did but it didn't change anything.
If there was a gs.apple.com entry in the host file, then that computer WAS used to jailbreak, or attempt to jailbreak an iOS device. There is NO other reason for that entry to be placed in the host file other than in an attempt to bypass Apple's authentication servers.
Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store since you can't seem to find a 'clean' computer from which to perform the restore.
Ask the genius to restore your phone. It's still under warranty. If there is something wrong with it, it will be replaced.

  • When I was updating I Phone version 4  from iTunes. it got stuck in middle of updating, after uninstall the version 3 and new version 4 was not installed. Now iTunes is not detecting the iphone and my iphone is also not working n showing connection cable

When i was updating i phone version 4 from Itunes. It got stuck in middle of updating, after uninstall the version3. But new version was not installed. Now itunes is not detecting the iphone and iphone is also not working and showing connection cable with itunes. Pls help..

Check your system for possible Malware. But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
(Do not use your own Anti-virus to SCAN)
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.

  • ITunes will not finish the restoring process for my iPhone 4s

So I have been trying to restore my iPhone 4s but iTunes will not finish the process. I have the latest versions in both my phone, iTunes and windows updates... I have restarted the iPhone, the comoputer and iTunes... I'm at a lost on what to do. The phone screen has the plug going toward the iTunes icon but when I do connect it to iTunes it does not restore. iTunes goes through the motions until it gets to "preparing iPHone to restore" after that it just kind of stays there for about half an hour and then it shoot out an error 2003 saying the iTunes couldnt' finish the process... I have all of my firewalls off too... Any suggestions?

I'd possibly say to check USB connections. Maybe another cable.
All else fails, you might try to restore on another computer.
