My phone is stuck on silent!
My phone is stuck on silent! i have checked the toggle switch on the side of my phone and the ringer is on but all i get when i recieve a phone call is the vibrate. my ipod still works and when i choose a ringtone it does sound. I have tried turning my phone off and also resetting all the settings on the phone. I also have plugged and unplugged my earphones several times. I am running out of ideas to solve this problem and about ready to go to the store to have it checked out. Any suggestions? has this happened to anyone else? what did you do to solve this problem?
There is a known issue with some phones with the headjacks. Plug in and out your headjacks a few times. It thinks they are still in it thus playing it's sounds through the headjacks even though they are not there.
Oops, just read your full post...sorry, you already tried this. Then sorry, try a restore.

You probably did a restore from backup. Do a restore but do not restore from backup. See if that works. if not - service

My iphone got wet in my pocket today and now is permanently stuck on silent. The sound is still working when I check ringtones in settings so that's not damaged and everything else seems to be working.......... How do I fix this?
You need to let it dry out first. Put the phone in a plastic bag with rice and let it soak out the water. Also make sure your silent switch has not been turned on by accident.

hi iphone users i have had the same problem with the no sound issue i have a little tweek that will gain all sound back on any iphone it worked for me heres what to do if it works for you let me no because ino its a nightmare having a phone with no sound 1st thing go to settings general accessibility scroll down assistive touch click it on when you get the white dot click on it you will have 4icons click on the device 1 you will then see volume up and down and also have little bell make sure volume is up and the bell is not muted there you quick fix for sound also you dont have to keep the assistive on you can then turn it off you will have all sounds incoming call the lot enjoy hope it helps

IPhone 4s stuck in silent mode?
My IPhone 4s is stuck in silent mode. The red dot is not showing; my volume is turned up all the way. But when I get calls or texts, my phone only vibrates, and I can't hear the keyboard clicks. I know my speaker still works because I can get Siri to talk and I can hear my music playing. I've restarted it and restored it. It's not stuck in headphone mode, because even with headphones in I can't hear alert sounds or keyboard clicks. Any help so I can avoid the Genius Bar?
I have the same problem with my iPhone. I believe the silent switch is broken. I found a little work around though. Go to Settings-General-Accessibility scroll to the very bottom and turn on AssistiveTouch. In the top left corner of your screen a black box with a circle will appear. Select it then select device. A menu will pop up and on the right will be a selection for Mute/Unmute. You can then go back and turn off AssistiveTouch and the setting will remain applied.

Reboot the phone: hold down the power button and the home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "slide to shut down". When the screen has been completely black for a few minutes, press the power button again.

So my iphone 4 is about 2 years old. Whenever I receive a message, my phone does not vibrate or make a sound. This happens even when my phone is not on silent, I dont know why this has happened. However when I receive a call, my phone goes off. I dont know why this happens. Am i the only one that's experienced this?
Yes i have, and its all set to be fine. When my phone is unlocked all the sounds work, it's only when it is locked

how can I keep my data doing a hard recovery on my phone? I uploaded newest version and phone is stuck on a screen telling me to plug phone into computer and go to iTunes, when I do this, iTunes says my phone is in recovery and I need to restore, Can anyone please help me get my phone back without losing anything?
You shouldn't have to restore your phone to keep your data. But first press home and on button at the same time until phone shows up Apple logo an boots up normally. When the phone comes back on plug into ituens and back it up by selecting "Back Up Now". Once backed up, you can press update and install 7.1.1 and it will restore and recover all your previously backed up data. You can also press "update" and itunes will automtically back up the phoen and install 7.1.1.

I have two Apple Ids. My first iphone was set with the icloud id that I don't use anymore.
I cannot delete that account because I cannot remember the password.
I tried to reset and the security questions come back incorrect, which they are not,
and when I ask for email reset, it won't send me the email.
I have a different appleID that I am now using, unfortunately my phone is stuck
on the old one.
I don't know what to do.No responds from apple support? I have the same issue too, apple CEO are there to count our money. Customer service are paid to do their dirty job, and yet they ignore us. They created this forum site just for us users to solve their problem.

Restart the restore procedure and make sure you are connected to the wall power adapter and have Internet connection.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
At the end it will ask whether you want to restore, choose iCloud backup. -
Help Somebody! My phone is stuck because I tried to sync my computer music with my Iphone and now all my Iphone does is show a pic of the power cord with an arrow going up to the word Itunes with the blue circle and the Music symbol in it! I cant even use my phone! Ugh, so frustrated! I entered a gift card and downloaded 2 songs and now what was going to take 2 min and cost $2.00 has now cost me hours in time and frustration. Anyone know the techno how this works? I know its more simple than it is for me.... I just don't have the tech stuff down. Kids get this stuff better than me...
