My phone is stuck with the little loading circle

my phone seems to be stuck on a black screen with a loading circle i have plugged it in to i tunes and every thing what can i do?

Without the use of a functioning on/off button it's difficult to reset/restore your iPhone as it requires you to turn off the iPhone which obviously you can't do. My only advice would be is make an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store and see whether they are willing to replace the iPhone, for a charge of course.

Portal hangs with the little loading image

Hello,
we have completly intermittend occurances of the portal hangin at the little loading image when navigating arround (not the big wheel in the middle but the small grey whirl in the top left page area).
I've been through all log files, did dumps and everything but can not find a single mention of anything wrong at the time. Its completly random, happens in different places at different times with different users.
The whole Browser window locks and has to be terminated via the Task Manager.
Would anyone know what/where I can find any information and what exactly hapens when the wheel is shown?

Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPOd via iTunes. For recovery mode see:

So I downloaded itunes set up which took an hour or so.

Please check 2 things in your computer.
1. Right click 'My Computer' => Manage => Services & Applications => Services. Look for Apple Mobile Service at the top. Status must be STARTED. If stop, please start it.
2. Open iTunes in computer. For Windows 7, go to iTunes Store => Authorise this Computer => key-in your Apple ID and password when prompted. For Windows 8, press ALT and S together. A pop-up window would show information of authorising computer. Click Authorise this Computer => key-in your Apple ID and password when prompted.

It might mean that it is currently syncing. You can wait for it for a few seconds or could be a minute or 2.

Ok so here is the update.......... Swapped out the iPad for a new one, via AppleCare warranty. Downloaded my backup, upgraded to current iso, problem solved. Although at first glance this seemed to be a software problem, it appears based on the outcome that it was a hardware malfunction. Thanks for everyone's input. Hope this helps someone with similar problem.

So when you plug it into your computer, you're not getting a message in iTunes that it has discovered a phone in recovery mode?
Reboot both the computer and the phone and try again.

Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)
If that didn't help, do a restore by connecting with iTunes.

Can you reset the phone by holding the on/off switch and home button down until your phone reboots and the Apple logo again displays?
