My phone is tweaking out since yesterday. I won't let me send or receive text or use any of my apps, anytime I open an app it'll just close out or will start to work then close out of me. I do need to update the software but don't have the storage space so I'm trying to buy more on Icloud but my phone isnt working right so it won't let me finish putting my credit card info. I dont know what to do!

Have you tried doing a hard reset?  Back up to iTunes, erase, and restore.   If you suspect an app is causing the problem then wipe completely and slowly add your apps back until you determine the cause.

    I didn't know you have an MBP. It doesn't have antivirus unless you added it, and the firewall is off by default. And iTunes on a Mac knows how to get around it. It's beginning to look like a hardware problem. Do you have another computer you can try to restore it with? Or an Apple store where you can make a genius appointment?
    Do you have the latest version of iTunes (10.4). If you don't you should get a warning, so you probably do, but worth checking. You can try reinstalling iTunes; as it's a Mac you can just download and install over the old one.
    What version of OS X? You need at least 10.5.4.
    I asked about TinyUmbrella, but let's check anyway. Using textedit, open the file /etc/hosts. You may have to enter the file name directly, as it's hidden and you may not be able to browse to it. It should look like this:
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1          localhost
    255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
    ::1             localhost
    fe80::1%lo0          localhost
    If it has any other lines, especially lines that contains gs.apple.com, delete those lines and save the file. The Update should then work. I doubt that this is the problem, but we've tried all of the standard ways to fix it.

    If you already Restored it with iTunes on computer and still have the problem. Then make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution under Warranty Coverage.

    Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
    Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
    If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com.  Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan.  Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans.  Restart computer.
    Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
    If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
    GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
    Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
    Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
    Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors  This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive

    I had the same problem (freezing iphone when trying to unlock) today.
    1) I made a backup of my iphone using itunes.
    2) Went to my service provider and made a sim swap. So, I think there was a problem with the nano simcard.
    Problem solved.

    I had the same problem and went to see the genius bar and they swapped it no problem. The heat is because the battery is draining fast not the other way round. iPhones do get hot sometimes but not always with fast battery drain. They have a powerful processor and no fan so they will get warm when thinking hard.

    This happened today out of the blue. I was having problems with my Yahoo account stalling on my iMac so decided to change over to iCloud...
    After sending the first email sucessfuly telling everyone of the change I got "The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server p05-smtp.mail.me.com"
    After much frustration and time I eventually set up a new outgoing server...
    Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Outgoing Mail Server SMTP / (drop down select) Edit SMTP server list/ +new and double click and enter 'smtp.mail.me.com'/ then select Advanced tab/ check, use default ports/ check use SSL/Authentication - Password/ enter username and password/click okay to retuen to Preferences/Select 'smtp.mail.me.com...etc' as outgoing mail server and select TLS com.apple...etc certificate /Save
    This has cured the problem for me, but seems like a bit of a farce really.
    On iPad and iPhone it's pretty much the same deal but it's slightly different.
    Settings/iCloud/Account/Advanced/Mail (allow sending from [email protected]) / Outgoing Mail Server/Primary Server (set to off)/Add server/Host Name - enter 'smtp.mail.me.com' /username & Password/SSL set to On/Authentication - set to Password/Server port 587
    All of this worked for me so I hope I save someone the same headache I had ALL DAY! So freakish that this ahppened to a all deivces in one day unless there is a coms problem with Icloud here, but everything else works...I hope...

    Did you get a new unactivated micro-SIM card from your new carrier or one that was already activated?
    Regardless, if your iPhone is officially unlocked you need to contact the new carrier.

    Since yesterday mi iPhone needs to be restored every few hours.
    At one point it shows "no service" and if I turn it off, when on again it needs to connect to iTunes.
    Once connected, I get the message to restore it.
    I olready restored it 4 times since last night, and the 3rd time was a fresh new restore.
    I m running OS5 since it came out without any problem.
    Any idea?

    Used to have the exact same problem; the progress bar would always freeze when I was updating and I'd have to disconnect the phone and then restore it. But now, I turn off my firewall, anti-virus and spyware software when I update and it completes just fine. I guess all we need to do is leave our computers unprotected so Apple can load whatever they want on them.

  • I updated to iOS 8 on iPhone 5s and now iMessage will not verify my email. It has said "Verifyng" since yesterday, but has not sent a verification email. I checked my iCloud settings for that email address and it shows "pending".

It has said "Verifyng" beside it in settings since yesterday, but has not sent a verification email. I have also tried Adding it as a new email address several times, but get the same outcome.  I can still send/ receive texts from my phone number, just not from the email address.
         In my iCloud settings under Contact Information for that email address and it shows "pending".  When I select "Resend Verification Email" I get "Cannot Connect to iCloud".
