Are you saying that you had all your music safely stored in itunes and now it's all gone?  You might try getting back the itunes folder that contains all your music (you haven't told us what kind of computer you're using) from a computer backup, say from a day ago.  If using a mac, look in Time Machine, in the music folder for your account.

There is no way for anyone on this forum to assist you.  Apple will also not assist you.  If you purchased the device thru ebay, file a claim.  If you purchased it some other way, I'm sorry.  there is nothing anyone can do to help you.

What do you mean you have them in iCloud, do you mean you have an iCloud back up, or the contacts are still available at iCloud.com

  • IPhone/iTunes music lost - how to get it back without having to pay again?

I have an iPhone 3Gs I am very frustrated and upset at the moment. I have spent a lot of money over the past year on downloading music for my iPhone, some of it straight to the phone and sometimes straight into iTunes.
Now I just upgraded to the 4.0 software and it has wiped all of my music from my iPhone except what I purchased on my iPhone that day. I have some of my music backed up on a harddrive, but there seems to be loads of albums missing still (I have all the receipts emailed to me).
Is there not a button that tells you which things you have purchased in iTunes so can just redownload them for free? It wants me to pay again when I have tried!
This is not fair! I don't understand why it wipes my iPhone every time I update the software. Please someone help me find my music and get it back on my iPhone?
    Many thanks,
    Shelly

though slightly off topic, the following post by Zevoneer in this thread http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8794716 says it all:
Did you back up your purchases before you you reinstalled your system? If you erased your drive then the purchases will have been erased along with everything else. If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

  • AudioMIDI MIDI configuration lost - how to get back?

    Hi,
For no appearent reason I have just lost my MIDI configuration. when i click on the Applications/Utilities/AudioMidi configuration icon, it bombs out. Aftet 5-6 atempts it appears, but with the MIDI setup empty and complete inability to test/rescam/add MIDI devices.
However, if I go into the application/Utilities folde and type press control-click and open properties, go into application contents and go into the MacOS folder, I find the same AudioMidi Icon in that folder as in the Utilities list. when i click on THAT icon I get a screen that shows all of my MIDI setup. But it look like its just a graphic, it does not 're-initialize' my MIDI setup.
Might anyone know what to do to fix this aspect of tte MacOS? I don't know enough about this os to fix it.
I'm not sure how to fix this as I only have 10.3 on DVD and I'm currently on 10.3.9, so its not clear how an install would fix this (without wiping my disk which is definitely the most undesirable option). Would an upgrade to 10.4 fix this?
    thanks,
    Kevin Nolan.

  • Lifeblog fills phone memory - how to get rid of it...

I recently started running out of phone memory, and even after deleting some files it fills up again in a couple of days. I had thought the problem was Sports Tracker, but it turns out to be "Lifeblog".
I used x-plore to look at the 160MB C:/ drive, and there is a hidden Lifeblog folder. Within this there is a file called "TextIndex.db" which is no less than 105MB!
**bleep** is going on here? I've never enabled lifeblog, I am in no way interested in such an application, so what's it doing using all my phone memory?
Also more to the point, how do I get rid of it? There doesn't seem to be a way to uninstall it given it's built-in. Alternatively is there a way to disable whatever it thinks it's doing.
    Thanks for any help.

Ok I solved this but it wasn't easy - the only way to get rid of the oversized file and recover the phone was to re-flash the firmware.
The offending TextIndex.db is now 7K. Since I unchecked all the categories from LifeBlog I'm hoping it will stay that way.
This is a serious bug in LifeBlog that effectively bricks your phone, and in a way that's hard to detect unless you know how to look at hidden files/folders on the C: drive. I hope someone is looking into it.

  • Formatting phone number: how to get rid of (...)?

I live in Romania, and Contacts incorrectly formats phone numbers of the type xxxx xxx xxx (10 digit, the national standard, out of which the first is zero) into (xxxx) xxx xxx, i.e. inserting brackets before the first and after the 4th digit respectively. This is wrong. The bug is seemingly banal, yet it has bad consequences: if phone numbers are exported to Android, some Android devices, not all, alas, cannot dial such numbers and the process is stopped. Well, this may be a bug in Android, nevertheless the problem exists.
A workaround is to choose another country as standard, e.g. Czech Republic. It works, but only for numbers added from that/this moment on, it does not remove (...) from the existing numbers.
Q: how can I remove those stupid brackets (....) from the existing phone numbers? I need a global solution, a script or something...
I reported the issue to Cupertino but they seem to be extremely slow, I do not understand why. Those brackets are incorrectly inserted, the national standards specifies a 10-digit number, out of which the first is zero, which is removed in case of international calls, and the prefix is added.

Self answer: I changed country at hazard to Czech Republic, and all the phone numbers have been meanwhile changed from the wrong format (xxxx) xxx xxx to the correct format 0 xxx xxx xxx
    Praise be to hazard settings.
P.S. Yes, I marked myself with a green bingo.

i lost my i phone 5 how can i get my data back

Have you backed up your iPhone 5 with iTunes?
If so, you may use an iTunes backup extractor to recover your data from the backup file.

You can use 'Recover from iTunes backup' mode to have a try.

  • On upgrading my iphone to ios 5, I have lost all music purchaes since August, despite backing up the phone.  How do i get them back again?

On upgrading my iphone 3Gs to ios 5, I have lost all music purchaes made on the phone since August, despite backing up the phone.  How do I get them back again?  Thanks.

I'm having the same problem on an iphone 4s running iOS8; when i updated to iOS8, all my ringtones went missing, and when i got a £50 gift card for christmas (2014), I purchased some songs from the iTunes store on my iPhone. i downloaded songs from paramore, panic! at the disco, coldplay, and imagine dragons, over wi-fi, and they went into my iphone music library; but when i re-opened the music app a few days later, in a place where i had no wi-fi, except for my 3G phone signal, some cloud icons appeared next to my newly purchased songs, telling me to re-download them from the cloud, when i haven't even deleted them. this has happened twice now, and i had to use up some of my 5GB data allowance to redownload them from the cloud. This is annoying and i need to fix this issue ASAP.

  • I have lost my i phone 4s how can i get my IMEI number without box or set?

I have lost my i phone 4s how can i get my IMEI number without box or set?

You can get your IMEI through iTunes, assuming you have backed up your iPhone using iTunes.
Open iTunes' preferences (under iTunes in the menu bar).  Choose the "Devices" tab, and hover your cursor over the iPhone entry.  The IMEI will appear.
I suspect knowing the IMEI will not do you a whole lot of good, but for what it's worth ... that's how to get it.
