My phone number is now invalid

My bill is up to date, and I have never had a problem with Verizon before. However, all of a sudden today, both my phone and the other phone on our account was shut off. Whenever you try to make a call or send a text, it says "This number is invalid." We cannot receive calls, either. Nothing has changed on "MyVerizon" plan. Please help!!!!

If I get this right, you've ported your phone number to AT&T with the purchase of the iPhone. That is considered opening your own account under your name. Your brother's account is not ported to AT&T unless you used his SS# instead of yours. Your brother still has his account under Verizon Wireless, all you did was use your cell phone number to when you opened your own AT&T account.
If you don't want to use your Verizon Wireless phone #, my suggestion is to call AT&T customer service and explain that you want a new phone number instead of the ported Verizon number.

Turned on my Mac Pro a few minutes ago and I got the following "POP-UP" message.
" Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone. " ( my iPhone is not new. )
" If you recently signed into "xxxxx iPhone" you can ignore this notification."
On the bottom of this pop-up window is an "OK" button. Well it's NOT "OK" No option is offered if it is not "OK".
I have made no changes to my iPhone whatsoever. Just normal use today. In my iCloud settings everything is turned off except sharing Contacts.
I'd suggest you log on to iCloud.com with your Apple ID, and then go to Settings and look in the "My Devices" settings for anything you don't recognize.
I just did this. All of the devices are iPhones, iPads, and Macintoshes that I own and am familiar with.

If you haven't already tried, see if you can force it into recovery mode to restore it:

Are you holding my phone number hostage now?!

I recently switched back from a temporary iPhone4 to my Samsung Galaxy that insurance reiumbursed for me. I love the samsung phone but now I am not able to text with contacts who have iphones. I have been reading about this problem on many forums and it seems like a major problem for many who make the switch. I have called Verizon, Samsung and Apple multiple times and have even talked to supervisors about this issue. This is infuriating. I understand that there is not much to be done on their end, except wait. But I want them to fix it before it even becomes a problem.
I have done all the steps as reccomended by other forums and reccomendations that I have received the staff I have talked to at Apple and Verizon and it does seem to work for SOME contacts.However, there is no way to KNOW if this is working as I may not be receiving some text messages from others whom I have less contact with. And the Apple rep told me this could take up to 30 days to totally detach my number. Seriously?! While all these tips are helpful and have worked for some of contacts so far, it is not an acutal solution. Having friends and family change THEIR settings so they can talk to ME is super inconvenient and should not be a necessary step. It's infuriating. I have many contacts whom I text with regularly and it would take forever to contact all of them. AND WHY DO I EVEN HAVE TO CONTACT THEM? This should never have been a problem in the first place and should be fixed by Apple ASAP. Stop holding my phone number hostage to your iMessage system!

The Apple ID was changed where on the device?
The Apple ID for the iTunes & App Store can be the same or different than the Apple ID registered with iMessage and FaceTime on the device.
Where it is changed for iMessage is at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID.
Select the Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out. Sign back in there with the different Apple ID to register that Apple ID with the iPhone's phone number with iMessage.

After reinstalling CS4 my serial number is now 'invalid'

I reinstalled CS4 on my MBP to sort out some stability issues. When prompted to enter the serial number, I did. This is a valid educational serial number obtained legally and properly. It has been working for several years now and I have reinstalled before without issue. I believe I need Adobe to somehow reset or provide a new serial number, but I cannot find a way to actually get in contact with customer care. Every trail I follow on the customer care website leads me back to the forums.

im having issues with my icloud since forever. i change my apple ID and i thought it would change my icloud as well but it doesnt. my icloud still stuck on my old hotmail. and due to security question i dont know about because that hotmail i had was created when i was 12 -.- now im 23 how the heck would i remember what was my fav thing before. so this kinda suck.....

It sounds like you are having trouble using your AppleID because you cannot remember your security questions. I recommend you try and use the following article to help you try and resolve that with a rescue email address. If you don't have one, or do not have access to it, there is also a link go contact Apple directly for additional assistance.

How do you combine iMessage sent to phone number and email?

I talk to someone who sends me imessages to my phone number from their phone, and also from their ipad to my email. Both phone number and email are under the same contact. But the mesages go into 2 different threads. Id like to combine them since being under the same contact they show up exactly the same in the messages list.. so i cant tell if im messaging the ipad or the phone..
ideally id like to write a message to that contact and it would go to both their ipad and iphone...
anyways.. how do I combine them?

This is possible and you can also send and receive iMessages to your MacBook from one phone number without having to use any email address whatsoever. This also means you will have one chat thread with all of your messages not two.
Anyone will tell you that I am a hardcore Apple Fan, however, sometimes they lack in the instructions area. For a while now I have had a problem with iMessages being sent from my MacBook. I could send an iMessage from my phone with no problem and my friend would receive it from my phone number however, the problem would arise when I would send a iMessage from my MacBook to to the same friend and a new thread would be created, so in essence she would have two different messages for me, one from my phone number and one from my email. After numerous attempts of contacting Apple Customer Service with no avail, I eventually figured it out on my own. I did aggrate some friends because I had to send messages relentlessly. In the end I found a solution and here are the instructions.
You’re going to go into iMessage on your computer, go to messages in the top left, click on preferences and then click on accounts. Look under “you can be reached for messages at” you should see your email and or your phone number.
If you do not see your phone number you need to add it to your account at this site. “https://appleid.apple.com/” click on manage your Apple ID and then sign in. After you sign in you will go to another screen and on your left you’ll see a list of choices click on phone numbers. Add your phone number and click save changes. It usually takes a few seconds for your iMessage account to update. Completely quit iMessage in the toolbar and then reopen it and go back into messaging preferences and then accounts.
After that has been done your phone number should now be added to the “you can be reached for messages at” section. Click on your phone number and then uncheck your email address.
Then go into your iPhone settings, messages, then scroll down to send and receive. Uncheck any email, only your phone number should have a checkmark, if your phone number does not have a checkmark... check it. You should receive a pop-up on your iPhone saying so-and-so’s MacBook is now using “insert phone number here” for iMessages.

Here's How: Tap the phone icon from the iPhone's the home screen. Tap the Favorites icon at the bottom left. Click the "plus" icon at the top right to add favorites. This will bring up your full contacts list. Scroll through it or jump to a letter to find the contact you want. When you've found the name, tap it. This will bring up the contact's information, including all their phone numbers. Tap the phone number you want to make a favorite. That name and phone number are now listed in your "Favorites" menu. Next to the person's name is a small note indicating whether the number is work, home, mobile, etc. To rearrange the order of your Favorites, go to the phone app and tap the "Edit" button in the top left. This will bring up a screen with red icons to the left of the favorites and an icon that looks like a small stack of three lines on the right. Tap the three-line icon and hold it. The Favorite you've selected will become active (when active, it appears to be slightly above the other Favorites). Drag the Favorite to the position in the list you want it to have and let it go. Click "done" in the top left and your favorites will be reordered.
